Perfect place for exploring Chiang Mai
location, nice staff, free wifi
9
This is the 4th time I stayed at Parasol and am always treated nicely by kind staff. Rooms are large considering the price US$25. Situatied on the Sunday "walking" street and near temples, Parasol is the perfect place to begin your Chiang Mai adventure.
Shopping Tip:
Sunday walking street is right there however, it gets super-crowded after 7:30pm so get there early (5:00pm)

Great location and very hospitable staffs
Great hotel to stay if you are planning to go for Sunday night market as the night market is taking place just in front of the hotel.
9.3
Location is great, right at the center of Chiangmai old city. The Sunday night market is taking place just in front of the hotel, making it very convenient for us. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean. Breakfast varieties were quite limited, Asian set is the best choice.
Shopping Tip:
Sunday night market is definitely the best place to get good bargain as compared to Saturday night market or the daily night market (we had visited all 3).

Good hotel and position with helpful staff.
Excellent position in the olde Chiang Mai, with very helpful girls at the reception.
7.3
We had an 'Ancient Room' with a window to the bathroom, which in turn has a window overlooking the rooves of adjoining buildings.
Mornings and nights there was a continual slamming of doors of the adjoining rooms which was exceptionally loud, but I can sleep through a bomb-blast. The included breakfast was okay if you liked eggs every day and was a bit on the small and unimaginative side.

Great service
Good location, clean, friendly and helpfull staff
6.7
i thought it was kind of expensive for a very basic hotel. i stayed an additional week night at a cost of 1300 baht. i stayed an extra week night at the seven zea hotel in pattaya for baht, the seven zea is modern with great facilities, twice the hotel the parasol is. i was on the fourth floor, no elevator.
a good guesthouse in chaing mai is week. i would prefer to stay there than the parasol.
very friendly staff though
Travel tip:
Give it a miss

Lovely hotel and fantastic location
Excellent location and friendly staff

This was an excellent hotel to stay at in Chaing Mai. Very close to the 3 main temples all within walking distance. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the room was very clean.
Service at the restaurant for breakfast was very laid back!!!
Restaurant Tip:
Excellent Thai BBQ, cook your own food at the table! Turn left out of hotel, follow street to Changpuak Gate (big busy street) turn left, BBQ maybe 200yds on left. If you get to Singharat Rd you've gone too far. Totally worth seeking out.

The reception staff are not very friendly at times. The breakfast is poor, hard toast nothing very appealing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Flight of the Gibbon and Gibbon segway are excellent.

Not as good as we had hoped
5.3
rooms were poor with no outside light, creating a cave-like feel. Service was ok but the smiles were often for show than sincere.
Restaurant Tip:
italian restuarant outside of main old city - Beccafino - excellent relief from local thai food !
