Staff cordial and helpful. Room and facilities up to expectations. Breakfast fantastic even after 3 days. Stone's throw from night market. Car park area could be better lit. We had a great time in Chiangmai and I believe the great location of Pornping Tower is behind this. The shops were within walking distance and the night market was unbelievably accessible.Nothing was too far away and all taxi drivers were familiar with the name of our hotel.The staff was helpful. The room was clean.Very happy and will certainly go back there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to the night market for its variety of shopping but bargain hard for stuff you like. That's half the fun of shopping.

A very good location. A decent value. our room was located in old building near the bars and nightclubs. It was little noisy at night. Didn't have hot water in couple of mornings. The staff in the dining room didn't speak any English, it seemed. I will not stay there again. I am sure there are plenty of other hotels in that price range and location. There are lots of area this hotel can and must improve on if they want to compete. I will definitely look for another hotel next time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We hired a van with a driver to take us around everywhere and skipped the package/group tour and I think we didn't just save money but had a wonderful time going only where and what we wanted to go under our own terms. Typically, it cost only B1500-1800 and fuel cost.

Convenient. Friendly lobby. Excellent breakfast. Best location next to the hotspot club and next to disco, night market, clean food court. I found the Pornping Hotel very convenient. After staying in Chiang Mai for three days I realized the Pornping is the best location next to the hotspot club with thai live bands and all the locals and next to bubbles disco, night market, clean food court. The friendly lobby staff always answered me in good English. Last but not least - excellent breakfast of both Thai & European food.
