very clean, modern and functional. a simple but nice breakfast every morning. very helpful and accommodating staff. only drawback for was that the bed was too hard --- and not so comfortable. would definitely stay there again.....

nice hotel but no elevator

rooms are very nice but not as nice as the picturs, location is ok and the stuff where nice. brakfast was also nice and service was good. the only problem is that there is no elevator so any room above the first floor is not so good if you have a lot of logage.

i like portico 21 because it is located inside the soi but not far from the main road. therefore it is quiet & yet walking distance to amenities like restaurant, pub, coffee shop, massage shop, bookstore,night bazaar, shopping areas, etc.
the hotel is clean, shower is hot & strong enough & the tv has cable movies & channel news asia. the staff are very friendly & warm & make one feels at home.

The Portico 21 Hotel is located down an alley just a few minutes walk to the Thapae Gate where the Sunday market is held. It is near many restaurants ~ both local & western cuisine, and it is only a 15 minute or so walk to the Night Bazaar.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and without being asked, upgraded my room type to a deluxe without any additional charge. The rooms are simple, yet stylish, and clean. There is a kettle with tea and instant coffee available in the rooms. The rooms also have TVs in them.
The hot breakfast, which was tasty, included eggs, bacon, toast with jam, coffee or tea, and a selection of fruit.
The large, modern lobby has a large screen TV, and couches and tables where you can relax.
This was my second stay at the Portico 21 Hotel, and I would definitely stay there again.

portico 21 is not easy to find, but worth looking for. the staff are excellent, the rooms are clean with good tv and internet service and the location - beside the old gate and close to the night bazaar - is excellent.
Restaurant Tip:
Starbucks by the gate is three stories of relaxation

Close to Walking Street and Night Bazzar. Friendly and efficient staff.

We stayed for two nights before travelling south. Nothing was toomuch trouble for the staff. The laundry was done and a taxi ordered. Very close to established Thai restaurant Aroon Rai.

we were in chiang mai for 5 days and stayed in different hotel each day. we chose portico for our second day stay as the building look new and classy yet reasonable priced. we paid night on weekend. the room is clean and big enough for 2 of us. the lobby of the hotel is really nice and cosy. breakfast is nothing much to be shout as they only serve toast with sunny side-up and hams.
