Fan plus AirCon in my room! I love the option. The balcony was quite a nice touch and the garden environment was as well. Owner is friendly and engaged.

The shower in my room fluctuated between scalding hot and freezing cold...no amount of fiddling with the taps gave a consistent temperature so every morning and evening was spent jumping from one end of the tub to the other. (My friend's room had no problems with the bath.)

min. 50 words Puripunn is a nice hotel in a quiet part of Chiang Mai - close to shopping and restaurants but not in the midst of the night market craziness. Staff are great about arranging taxis (the hotel has a free tuktuk, but only to the night market and environs)and were always professional and helpful but not overbearing. Puripunn is said to be 5 star, but based on my experiences in Thailand I'd put it at 4-and-a-bit stars. It's a great get-away.

only 5 minutes walk to the night bazaar area; the peace and quiet of the location; small but very lovely swimming pool; the huge bath and spacious bathroom;

None

The hotel was so calm, peaceful and quiet it made for a fantastic long weekend break. However, the hotel was only a short walk from some great restaurants and downtown Chiang Mai. The staff were all helpful and friendly but not not intrusive. The little touches such as the unexpected complimentary cold drink at the pool, and another whilst waiting to depart were very welcome and added to the experience. The breakfast restaurant setting and food was also good, especially the different daily soup (yes! soup for breakfast, but it was very light and always delicious!) The swimming pool, whilst small, was very lovely and well maintained, and it was, unusually for an inland location, salt water. If you are looking for a very conveniently located boutique hotel that is an oasis of calm and tranquility but close to the town and restaurants, I would strongly recommend this hotel, its a gem.

Restaurant Tip : just 5 minutes walk from the hotel are 2 very good thai and international restaurants - the Riverside Bar and the Gallery, which should satisfy those of you that have a diverse group that all want something different.

Friendly staff, beautiful room--with comfortable seating on the terrace over looking the courtyard, delicious breakfast, decent location.

Small pool, expensive laundry service.

As climbers traveling with large back-packs we were splurging on Puripunn for a few nights but it was WELL worth it. We walked everywhere - from the train station, to the night bazaar, and to excellent restaurants. The run-down residential setting just outside the hotel was a bit surprising but we always felt safe even on foot. We never eat dinner at the hotel but enjoyed the made-to-order omelets every morning. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Hotel Feature Tip : The laundry service seemed expensive but right next door is a residence where a family offers laundry service. I don't know how they would handled business clothes, but our vacation basics -pants, t-shirts, undergarments - were handled perfectly for a tiny fraction of the cost at Puripunn.

very warm and relax feeling

hot water system is not very good

This is a good hotel with reasonable price. A little bid far from city center, but it makes the whole environment more peaceful and calm. The owner is very warm and cosiderate people. They run this hotel with their heart. If I would be back to Chingmai again, this would be the hotel that I consider to stay again.

Fantastic Location close to everything yet far enough for some peace and quiet. The owner and his wife introduced themselves and take great pride in offering the Best Chaing Mai has to offer. Exceptional service and beautiful clean rooms. Loved every minute in Chaing Mai and this was our Oasis

Do not let them send you to the Gem Factory very expensive and comissions for all involved. The free taxi is hardly free. Shop around there are some jewlery deals to be had. Mattas is a great small place to shop for decent prices.

Exceptional service and beautiful clean rooms along with good english speaking skills at the front desk. The free internet was always available. Would highly recommend staying here as there are many different rooms to choose from. The pool was cool and refreshing after long hot shopping days. The hotel is within walking distance of the night market yet far enough to provide some peace and quite from the crowds. The breakfast was fantastic and the setting amazing. Beautiful oasis away from home, if you intend on being away from home long this is you place. Great bath tub for a lovely soak. They had it full of rose petals for us upon our arrival. Do not let them send you to the Gem Gallery as it is very expensive tourist trap and everyone gets commissions. We were lucky to find a local jewlery store called Mattas and the prices were fantastic compared to the touristy Gem Factory.

Shopping Tip : Mattas Jewlery store straight down the main road from the hotel and left on to side street about 4 blocks after the bridge. Look up address when you get to Chaing Mai.

The staff were consistently excellent

Small bathroom

The experience was a great one from the moment we arrived when our bags were taken from us and we were seated with a cool drink, to when we left with the staff lined up to say goodbye. It was a special time for us on our honeymoon and the staff at the hotel made it unforgettable.

The interior and all furniture are fusion of thai and colonial style and so beautiful. Staff are really kind and supported our stay comfortable. Buffe style breakfast is also good. \nthe TukTuk service is really usufeull.

It is hadrd to explain where the hotel is because it located on the small and narrow soi(street) from the main roard. even I can speak thai little, it is haed to tell taxi driver to go. I always show them the map of hotel, still it takes some time to let them know where to go.

my husband and I stayed only one night at puripunn hotel. when we checked out, we regret about our short stay there. Even one night, we really enjoy staying and had a relax time there. the equipment and facility are good enough and interior are fantastic. our room has a balcony with couch and chair. it also has ceiling fan in the balcony. so we spent some time there to ejoy fresh air. we could also see the trees with lying on the bed. while we stay, we listened the music which may played by the thai instruments all the time. When I lie down on the bed with seeing the birds nest on the tree and listening the music, I felt it was not real world.

Shopping Tip : Sunday market is good place to shop. you can go there easily by the transportaion service

The architecture, landscaping and fine details in decor are exquisite. The rooms are a perfect size and the staff is very warm. The location away from the city is quiet and peaceful.

The shower in the standard rooms aren't well designed and require patience and skill to keep under control. There are only a few employees who understand English well enough to assist you. The tuk-tuk was broken, making it hard to get to and from the city.

The highlight of our trip to Thailand was staying at the Puripunn hotel. Upon entering the hotel on the first night, we were left breathless by the intimate property that felt like a grand residence. We were upgraded to a standard deluxe room that was steps away from the pool and had a small patio and fantastic bathroom. Breakfast, which comes with the room, always included a local delicacy that was just delicious. The care and artistry put into carving the fruits or custom making an omelette made breakfast a welcome ritual. We used the pool and the computers everyday and looked forward to returning after a long day of shopping or sightseeing.

Restaurant Tip : Good View restaurant is very nearby on the East side of the Ping river. The setting is casually romantic, the food is good and the live music added a pleasant touch.

We loved our stay at the Puripunn Hotel. It was a beautiful place and the service was excellent. The free tuk tuk service was great. Originally we were only going to stay one night, but we had such a great experience we decided to stay another night. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Feature Tip : The staff arranged transporation to the Oasis Spa in Chiang Mai. The spa was wonderful!

If you are on your honeymoon or otherwise want to really enjoy the time with your wife or girlfriend, go for the Puripunn Suite! It is not that expensive (not for what you get!), absolutely beautiful and it has its own private swimming pool.

Hotel provide free tuk tuk to downtown but if you come back late at night, you're on your own. Solution: rent a car with driver while you were there.

Shopping Tip : Stay on weekend to enjoy weekend people walk market. (Talad Kon Dern)
