The hotel is located on the other side of the street from Ping River and is within a walking distance from the night bazaar and the market. Just need to cross the bridge. There are bridges whichever way you choose to go (left and right). Food is everywhere. There's a 7-11 on the right side of the hotel. Some restaurants and a cafe in front of it. A two-hour boat ride on the Ping River on the left side the hotel. Take a hotel card with you for local taxi drivers, because they don't know the place very well. The night bazaar is nice, but I liked the market better. Some of things are cheaper than Bangkok.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a one-day tour or more - as you like - to the Golden Triangle and all the way up north to the border with Burma. Supposed to cost around 1000 baht + lunch per person. Travel agencies are everywhere.

It satisfied my travel needs.

  • Travel tip : Bring mosquito spray. The mosquitoes seem to enjoy foreign blood rather than local.

We will be back soon.

  • Restaurant Tip : Some great places along the Ping River, mind you the hotel restaurant serves great food as well, but a bit empty at night.

I was staying here as a single female. When I asked for directions to the night market one evening, they actually volunteered to take me in the hotel car themselves at no extra charge. They did this on two occasions, which was very kind and I was impressed that they went out of their way to do a little extra for a guest, which they didn't need to do.

  • Hotel Feature Tip : I made use of the gym facilities and free yoga class for guests. No one else was using them which was great for me as I got the whole gym to myself and a 1:1 private yoga lesson free of charge!

Overall, Rarinjinda is an excellent choice and very good value for money when compared to other five-star hotels in the city. This hotel has a number of things it can improve on. However, as this hotel is still new, I believe it will continue to improve in its facilitiy and service as it gains more experience from having more and more guests stay. Rarinjinda may be unheard of by made people, but it appears to be gaining popularity as their advertising takes effect

  • Restaurant Tip : Chiang Mai not only has good Northern Thai food, it also has some very good French and Italian restaurants
