Rimpimng Village Chang Mai- Friendly place to stay
Central location, not far from the night markets. Reception staff were genuinely wamr and freindly, couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. All staff were very pleasant. Room was large and clean.Breakfast was great.

Extremely helpful reception staff who personally looked after our stay was probably the best feature of this boutique hotel. Central location, with clean, large rooms also made it a delightful find.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Just outside the hotel if you go to the right, down the lane, is a very cheap but good laundry service. It is same day and clothes were returned beautifully washed and ironed.

Quiet, convenient, comfortable, attentive staff.
The location is near the attractions yet far enough away to be quiet. Easy to find yet quiet as it is off the main drag. Huge rooms.

The hotel was very comfortable, the breakfast great, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. In particular, rather than routinely send us off on the prescribed tourist haunts, the staff shared their own personal opinions as well as those of other guests regarding some of the more disappointing but heavily promoted attractions.
Shopping Tip:
Within a block of the hotel is a huge grocery store for stocking up. Also, a nice, reputable massage studio.

Review of Rimping Village
Very quite nice and small hotel. Staffs are excellent.

Very nice and cozy hotel and staff welcome you and their treat you like a great house guest and I truly enjoyed to stay this hotel.
You can also walk to great restaurant such as "GOOD VIEW" by the river. Breakfast under the banyan tree at the hotel was very nice.
Restaurant Tip:
There are a few good restaurant by the river and I highly recommend you to try. Please simply ask hotel staff and they will tell you where to go for great food with very reasonable price.

Best Hotel in Chiang Mai!
Amazingly helpful staff, great location, quiet, relaxing, use of bicycles to get around the city on! Loved everything.

We had 5 days in Chiang Mai at the Rimping Village and loved every minute. The staff were super helpful and very kind. Rooms are neat and tidy and beautifully air-conditioned. The location of the hotel is great, it's on the east side of the river and is far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk or ride over the bridge into the Night Bazaar. The hotel had bikes which you could take out for free which we found was an excellent way to look around the old city and see much more than we would have normally. Right around the corner from the hotel is a supermarket and plenty of laundry places which ask about 30Baht for 1kg. Free internet at the reception. We will absolutely stay here again!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take a day to do a trip up to Doi Inthanon National Park. There is a tour you can do with a 3 hours gentle adventure walk and it was amazing! Doesn't seem like much of a walk when you are doing it but you get to see so much scenery and nature that you don't get to see otherwise!!

Staff really look after you and help you in every possible way. We felt like at home, looked after and cared for.
Rooms are clean and in good order. Location is convenient. Very good value for the money. We stayed three nights and wish we could stay for longer.

As many previous reviewers have commented, the level of service and courtesy offered by the hotel staff is very good. However, unfortunately this is outweighed by the many shortcomings of this hotel. In particular, the rooms and general facilities are looking very old and tired, and the room was not particularly clean (there were several cobwebs in different parts of the room), and the restaurant was extremely limited. Lovely people, working really hard to make up for the defficiencies of their hotel. Sorry, but next time I shall return to the Yaang Come.

Rimping village is an absolute oasis. Quiet and secluded but within minutes walk of the river bridges and town (just cut down a little alley behind the restaurant). Staff are very helpful. Arranged for our rental car to be delivered to the hotel. Breakfast is great - a buffet, but almost everything freshly cooked as they set out small amounts and replace constantly. The pool is great relaxation after a hot and dusty day in town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Several good massage places on the road from the main river bridge to the town gate. Night market within 10 mins walk.

We spent in Rimping Village 4 nights, 7-11/03/2010 and really enjoyed. We travelled from north to south and stayed in few hotels during this trip, then really we can compare Thai hotels including even 5 star hotels- please find other review. Staff is outstanding, very friendly and helpful, speak good english. They will help you with everything, will book trips for you, let you use their mobile free of charge. Hotel has good wireless connection and also laptop in lobby, all free of charge. Staff in this hotel made our stay in Chiang Mai very memorable and made our life easy, this what you need travel first time in Thailand.
Restaurant Tip:
Restaurant Gallery View, is not as good as state in many guides and reviews. We have tried twice dining there, unsatisfied.Maybe we just been unlucky with our choices, but i would not have tried again. There is many more restaurant that serve good Thai food i.e Whole Earth.

Hidden Jem!
The staff were incredibly helpful - from the time of booking when we had special requests for travelling with young children and mother-in-law, until the moment of departure arranging complicated transfer to airport via obscure botanical garden and jewellery shop.

This is a real jem of a hotel that manages to create a real feeling of tranquility amidst a bustling city. Located within walking distance to a shopping square with supermarket, coffee house and massage, its rooms are spacious, clean and confortable with lovely Thai accents. Sitting under the magnificent fig tree by the salt water pool was a real delight. Staff were incredibly affectionate with our active 2 and 4 year olds while we enjoyed our evening meals.

We were very happy with the Rimping Village and are looking forward to staying there again next year. The rooms were nice, there was a safe, nice bathroom and comfortable bed. The television got numerour channels in Thai and english. The staff was terrific and really went out of their way to help us, no matter if it was to find a restaurant or simply to call us a tuk tuk. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Shopping Tip:
The Rimping Shopping Center is about 2 blocks from the hotel, also there is a 7-11 about the same distance away.
