nice appointment in the room, very very nice staff.
i accidentally booked for the wrong year (correct date but next year instead of this year) .. When i presented the voucher they did not have me in the system ( for obvious reasons) , but no problem they honored the voucher anyway and even made the call to agoda to change the date on my behalf ..hats off to a nice staff who went the extra mile for me .. Definitely recommend this hotel..

Lovely quiet setting but just ten minutes walk from the Night Market.
Very attentive, helpful staff
Attractive design of hotel; comfortable rooms; spacious pool
For the money, no real weaknesses
I had seen from previous reviews that guests rated the staff at Rimping Village highly and this proved my experience. They were always helpful and professional, even providing a free airport drop-off as we had paid a bit extra for an evening check-out.
The setting and design of the hotel are most attractive. It was like staying at resort hotel but in the quiet, green centre of Chaing Mai.The pool bordered by trees and greenery was especially attractive. The breakfast buffet was special too; a wide choice and the main dish freshly cooked. I'll stay at the Rimping again!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : On the way to the Night Market, after crossing the iron bridge, turn right rather than continue into the centre. After a short walk you will find two beautiful traditional houses, both now preserved and used as restaurants.

Friendly, Short walk to the night markets, nice pool, brillant breakfasts.
The staff were probably the friendliest we have ever had at a hotel. We were always welcomed at the entrance with our keys at the ready. The breakfasts were brilliant – there are fresh fruits and yoghurts and you can also choose from a menu (and it is cooked fresh for you – both Thai & western food). For location, the hotel is only a 10-15 min walk to the night markets. I have no negatives to mention for this hotel.

Friendly, very helpful staff.
We chose Rimping Village Hotel after reading all the positive reviews and we certainly weren't disappointed. Everything about this hotel was great! Fantastic staff, could not have been more helpful, all went out of their way to ensure our stay in Chiang Mai was perfect. Great location, quiet street... walking distance to night market, top restaurants along river and that wonderful supermarket that so many have mentioned. Was a little concerned about the mosquitoes after reading other reviews... but not worth mentioning, think I saw 2 in the 4 days we were there!!
Really appreciated the free unlimited use of internet too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Recommend that you book a red or blue taxi for the day to take you to Mai Rim district and attractions... especially visit elephant camp & have buffet lunch at tiger place! What a great day we had and so cheap by Australian standards.

Service, location, breakfast and solitude.
A little bit basic in the rooms but all very clean and all basic amenities.
What a great little find! Just across the River Ping from the Night Bazaar in a more residential part of town is this lovely little resort. Not a huge amount of rooms and all are built round a nice swimming pool and little restaurant. Rooms are basic but very comfortable - we had a family room for 3 adults and there was plenty of space for us all. The staff are the best thing about Rimping Village though - you feel like you've stumbled into a family home in which they make you feel very welcome. We would definately return.
Restaurant Tip : The Riverside Restaurant just along the river is great for an evening's entertainment. Good reasonably priced Thai food and some great bands!

Clean++, large, comfortable rooms; easy walk from local attractions like night market; salt water pool nice reprieve from CM heat; great breakfast; friendly accommodating staff
Even though the hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to town (e.g. night market) it is tucked away and quiet. Very laid back atmosphere and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large, bright and comfortable and very clean. Can't comment on the dining other than breakfast which was great. Totally enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it without hesitation. If we return to CM I wouldn't look any further for a place to stay.
Travel tip : Can recommend a great tour company - Wandering Star Tours (access website online) - Miss Dao, Frank and tour guide Amy. Did a great job and we really benefited from Amy's generous sharing of knowledge re Thai tradition and Buddhism. Got so much more from the temples visited. Trip to elephant sanctuary was awesome - spent time feeding, bathing and learning about elephants. A nice reprieve from the exploitation of the these wonderful creatures for tourism. If you are looking for adventure/excitement, Flight of the Gibbon is well worth it - a mix of 18 zip, rope and suspension bridges above the rainforest in CM. About an hour's drive from CM so easy to do. Guides are safe, friendly and knowledgeable. Had a gas!

-Resort style ambiance
-Caring personal service
-Luxury comfortable and clean accommodations
-Uneven shower temperature and pressure
-Occasional sewer gas smell from shower drain
We stayed at Rimping Village in Chiang Mai for 3 nights.
The hotel is situated about 5 minutes from the river and a 20 minute walk to the center of town.
The area around the hotel is a bit grubby, but the hotel and grounds are beautiful. There is a nice resort feel to the hotel with lush landscaping and a nice central pool area.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The lobby has 2 computers you can use for free.
Breakfast was included and was sumptuous (with many healthy options).
The pool is large and clean.
We had a family room which was huge.
The bed was very comfortable and the room soundproof.
To improve:, the water temperature and pressure in the shower was intermittent and occasionally, a sewer gas smell emitted from the shower drain.
We loved this hotel and would return without hesitation.
Hotel Feature Tip : The bathrobes in the room are really nice (nicest type I've seen).
You can purchase them for a very good price.....just ask early during your stay to make sure they have stock.

Customer care, location, quiet place and Value for Money!
Swimming Pool water not very clean. They should change it more fst buffet just excellent and food is also superb. recently.
We choose this hotel following Agoda guests advice, and it definitely did not spoil our expectations. From the very beginning you find an attentive personnel willing to assist you in whatever demand (trips to waterfalls, i.e.). Hotel has bikes for customer use, they are free of charge and it is a good idea to ride Chiang Mai on weekend days, so that you can visit all temples. Breakfast buffet just excellent and food is also superb. Rooms are well furnished and very-very clean and well mantained. Location is far enough for a quite stay but close enough (10 minutes walk) from night market. We will come back to Rimping Village. Thanks to all staff.

Location, rooms spacious, lovely staff, great pool, resterant food good, internet, bikes to use
We didnt see any cons. Would pick this hotel again without a doubt.
Fantastic hotel, great service. Stayed before and after our trekking trip. They kept our luggage and when we rechecked in they were waiting with our key and bags already in the room. Food great, nice outdoor setting. Had Thai massage by the pool while the kids swam. Very nice setting for a hotel, quiet and beautiful trees. My kids enjoyed riding the bikes and was very close and easy to get to the night market. Room was terrific for our family of four - stayed in the deluxe room. Even had some movies to borrow so kids were able to watch a dvd. Hotel small enough that the kids could watch a dvd in bed while we sat by the pool and relaxed. We heard that some hotels push other services such as guides, etc.. but did not experience this at Rimping village.

This is a great place to stay to explore Chiang Mai and surroundings. The rooms are clean and comfortable and are value for money. Bathroom is a little bit on the small side and only has a shower. The best thing about Rimping though is the staff. Very friendly and always ready to help and advice on what is going on in Chiang Mai
Restaurant Tip : Eat at a tiny restaurant accross Rimping Supermarket, just around the corner from the hotel. Great food, great prices and be adventurous as they do not have an English menu !

Cleanliness, peaceful, tranquil, service and friendliness.
This hotel is probably one of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in anywhere in the world, and I have stayed in a lot I can assure you. The service here is impeccable, the attention to detail is second to none and I have never been made to feel more welcome in any hotel anywhere. They really do make you feel as though you are at home and one of the family. There is nothing they wont do for you here. It's clean, quiet, excellent internet reception which is also free, great location, beautiful hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to stay in Chiang Mai. You can't go far wrong, and great value for money.
Restaurant Tip : The best restaurants we found were actually on the river, walking distance from the hotel.

Relaxed, generous hospitality, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully rewarding after hot days in Chiang Mai.
We didn't really have many expectations from the Rimping Village, and booked it as an in between place along our journey. To our amazement, it turned out to be one of the best spots we stayed at in Thailand - lovely pool, lovely staff, huge rooms, spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!

Great knowledgable and friendly staff, beautiful clean rooms, good breakfast, free internet, Supremarket around the corner.
There really was nothing about this hotel that we didn't like, except that we had to go home. If I had to choose something the water in the shower was not quite hot enough, but made no real difference as it was so warm.
The staff here were fantastic, the hotel is small enought taht they took an interest in us personally, but large enought that we had plenty of privacy. The room was very clean and well presented, DVD player in the room that was great as not many English TV channels. The breakfast was really good, the pool area is in a nice setting and was easy to relax, and internet was provided free to all guests which was really handy.
The hotel is really close to the city, some great restaraunts on the river and the Sunday walking market, and we were able to walk some days rather than take tuk-tuks. Also, there is the Rimping Supermarket just around the corner which was fantastic. We could buy drinks and food whenever we wanted, and there were heaps of gourmet options. They even have the local South Australian beer we love.
Highly recommended.
Shopping Tip : Supermarket just around the corner for food and drinks was so convenient and much cheaper than restaraunt and mini bar prices.

Hotel was great as was the location and fantastic staff
we ate once at the hotel as we had an early start the following day, the meal was really good but a little pricey for Thailand, this is only a minor criticism.
The hotel is a great sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai. The hotel is clean and the pool a good size. The hotel room is spacious and well located to a local market and restaurants and is about a 10 min walk to centre of town or 5 min ride in the tuk tuk. The staff were friendly and helpful (couldn't do enough) and made you feel really welcome. We stayed for three nights and whenever we returned to the hotel a member from reception greeted us at the gate with our key and asked about our day out, real personal service. They provided mosquito spray at the table when eating outside in the restaurant and incense outside your door - nice touch. Bicycles are also provided by the hotel to get around. I would highly recommend staying here.
Shopping Tip : Well worth checking out the night market it is huge and you will definitely find a bargain or two! Also, local market and restaurant located 5 min walk from the hotel in the opposite direction to town.
