nice appointment in the room, very very nice staff.
i accidentally booked for the wrong year (correct date but next year instead of this year) .. When i presented the voucher they did not have me in the system ( for obvious reasons) , but no problem they honored the voucher anyway and even made the call to agoda to change the date on my behalf ..hats off to a nice staff who went the extra mile for me .. Definitely recommend this hotel..

Staff appearance and helpfull. Fine pool.
Staff fine to call A/C taxies.
Breakfast OK.
A little too long from the sundays market and the city.
A little music in the restaurant area would maybe make more guests having their dinner and some drinks in the hotels restaurant.
More comfortable chairs required if we should have some drings in the restaurant.
Hard matrasses - sour backs :o).
Rimping Village is a nice hotel, which nearly all a/c taxidrivers and tuktuks know where is situated.

Excellent location (just a few mins walk to the night bazaar and bars, but no noise). Very warm and friendly service, the staff couldnt do enough for us, made us feel very welcome. Clean rooms, nice pool.
Excellent stay at the Rimping village in Chaing Mai. We would gladly stay here again, and would recommend to anyone going to Chaing Mai. Things within walking distance were the night bazaar, thai boxing, tourist information, and bars and restaurant (would recommend the Riverside bar. Go here for the meal boat cruise(no extra cost than eating in restaurant)).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Dont pay for the Ping River cruise (c400bht). Instead have a meal at the Riverside on their boat cruise.(daily at around 7.15pm). You will see the same sites, but get fed at the same time!

Friendly, attentive and helpful staff, serene grounds
The room could have a bit brighter lighting (at least in the bathroom).
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rimping Village Hotel. The staff was amazing... incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted us by making calls to arrange for the activites and outings. The breakfast was included in our package, and it was wonderful. I highly recommend you eat a hearty breakfast there before venturing our for the day. (We did not eat other meals there.) We walked to the Night Bazaar and to the locals' market as well as to some restaurants nearby. Otherwise, it's a short tuk-tuk ride to most other places of interest in town. I would definitely stay there again.

lovel setting and quiet area easy walking distance to night market and river.
The rooms are a bit dark.
it was easy to get to Rimping Village from the airport and upon arrival our room was ready straght away. The staff were very friendly and kind, even following s dowm the street to give us directions when they saw us walking in a different direction. The breakfast was nice and it was very relaxing and restful in that area.

The hotel is located in a quiet area and is set among lush surroundings. It is very clean and the staff were extremely helpful, courteous and pleasant. We were upgraded to a deluxe room at no extra cost and it was spacious and beautifully decorated.
The access to the hotel is deceiving but once you are in the hotel it is a different world.
We stayed at Rimping Village hotel Chiang Mai from 17 Oct 2009 -20 Oct 2009 after reading reviews from TripAdvisor. We have no regrets and it was a pleasant experience throughout. We would certainly come back and stay there again. From the time we checked in, the staff were most friendly, helpful , pleasant and polite. We forgot to bring a couple of essentials and they supplied those items at no extra cost. I needed a pair of sandals to be repaired and asked for the nearest cobbler and, guess what, the hotel staff took it to the cobbler and got it repaired for me while we enjoyed out tour for the day.I saw something I liked and asked them where I could buy it and again the receptionist took it upon herself to buy it for me. It is not a 5 star hotel but the service and treatment accorded is better than 5 star. The staff exude such a personal and warm touch that is rarely found elsewhere. Breakfast was good and setting was rustic. You could eat in the dining area or under the banyan tree. I will go back to thsi hotel when I next visit Chiangmai

Very friendly helpful staff
Good location to walk to restaurants, old town and various markets
Great value restaurant in hotel
Dimly lit room
No clothes drying facilities in room
We recently spent three nights at the Rimping Village hotel and found it to be close to ideal for our needs. The hotel is conveniently positioned, enabling us to walk to the city centre, the various street markets and the plethera of restaurants. The staff were very efficient and friendly, and always looking to do that little bit extra to ensure our stay was as perfect as possible. We were in Chiang Mai in October and the hotel, with its 24 rooms, was far from being full. Breakfast was good and on the one occasion that we had dinner there the food was good and not expensive (as hotel food so often is).
Before arriving at Rimping we didn't really know what to expect, so to set the right expectation I think it's important to understand that the hotel is neither a business nor a luxury hotel but what it is is a good holiday hotel suitable for singles to families.
Our one criticism would be that our room, though spacious and well-appointed, was dimly lit no matter how many lights we put on, which did little for the ambience. A line over the bath for dripping costumes would also have been a welcome addition
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip :
If you want to get close to nature for a day and live with elepphants then you must go to www.pataraelephantfarm.com
Massage place walkable from hotel.

The staff are all amazingly helpful, nothing is too much trouble,Although a little distance from the main city, its easy to walk around with may small shops close by
Internet very slow, I think alot of people would have booked this hotel online, and when you are away a good internet service is nice to have.Perhaps some cheaper wine would also be nice
This is not a 4 Star hotel, but for value for money is a great place,We had not complaints about anything during our stay, the breakfast was good, and also the evening meals we had in the restaurant.WE would return to this hotel again during any future visits and recommend it to our friends.
Restaurant Tip : Across the river is an excellent restaurant, not expensive, may need to book or go early in high season, think its called River View

Staff and service were awesome.
A bit far from center of town, if you are going to spend a lot of time there.
This was our favorite hotel in Thailand. It is very quiet and peaceful. The rooms and hotel are fine but the staff and service were phenomenal. They would recommend attractions based on our interests, greet us everytime we returned to the hotel, and follow-up and ask how our day was. They also had bikes so we could ride into town.
Nightlife Tip : The house band at the Riverside restaurant near the hotel was great.

Friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully presented hotel. Lovely salt water swimming pool. Quiet location.
We stayed at Rimping Village for 3 nights during our 3 week honeymoon in August 2009. This hotel really has the wow factor. We had a warm welcome from the staff and our room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. The hotel is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of central Chiang Mai (but an easy enough walk to the Night Bazaar or cheap tuk tuk to the old city) so it has a really calm, relaxed feel. It was nice to sit in the restaurant area or around the pool with a cold drink and enjoy the lovely setting the hotel provides. We would definitely recommend this hotel and wish we could have stayed for longer ourselves!

excellent staff, location, breakfast
I would recommend the Rimping village to anyone wanting a good quality small hotel close to the city. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, they are extremely attentive and helpfull. Always ready with a hello, goodnight or a helpful suggestion. The breakfast is also worth a mention, I have stayed in many thai hotels of this calibre and this is one of the best breakfasts offering a wide and changing selection. Free bicycles and a salt pool.

- Staff and service
- Breakfast
- Charm
- Area amenities
- A bit outside center of town
I was skeptical to see such a highly rated hotel with such a low price, but now I see what all the fuss is about. From the moment we arrived, the Rimping Village staff went beyond usual service to anticipate our needs and make our time in Chiang Mai as wonderful as possible, from picking up our 3 huge bags of laundry and volunteering to take them to a local laundry service to save us the hotel fee (3 huge bags washed dried, and folded, for about $15), to calling our tour company relentlessly when we lost our phone, and using their local cell phones, at no charge to us, to book our bus tickets to Chiang Rai. Breakfast was wonderful and although the rooms are not luxury, they are cute, clean, homey, and comformtable. Would come back here again and again.
Travel tip : Hang a right out of the hotel and go to the main road. Make a left and you will find (in this order):
- Thai Tourist Authoriy: Go here BEFORE you consider booking any tours. The tourist agencies will all lie and try to rip you off, but this place doens't book tours, and will give honest info.
- Local noodle shop: Great, close choice to sample the famous Chiang Mai noodles.
- Local massage place: Inexpensive, soothing, and off the tourist track
- Supermarket: Surprisingly modern and well-stocked with two excellent coffee shops.

Superb cosy hotel in Chiang Mai. Rooms well sized and comfortable. Excellent outside pool and Restaurant
Slightly out from the centre but walkable
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Did plently of sightseeing. The hotel organised a lady taxi driver for the various trips who couldn't have been more helpful. Good choice in the restaurant and reasonably priced. The hotel is little bit out of the way but not really a problem. Staff were very helpful. Will be back again this year
Shopping Tip : Excellent massage shop on the main road just past Rimping supermarket, my first stop on our return

Friendliness and helpfullness of staff.
Hotel is set out like a motel. From the minute we arrived we felt at home. Evertime we returned to hotel from shopping or tour, somebody was standing outside office with key to our room. Before we became aware of mosquito problem, we were given repellent which eliminated problem before it started. We had 7.00 A.M. departure which we thought would not give us time for breakfast but dining hall was opened at 6.45 for us. Although we were not in the center of activities every thing was at worst a short taxi trip away.
