Great Location
Very close to the markets and lots of local foods around

When I stayed at Royal Princess, the hotel was recently renovated and I got the newly renovated room, it was very clean and feels very comfortable. The hotel is also located in the middle of the night markets, so it was very convenient. There are a lot of local foods as well just across from the hotel.
Overall we were very satisfied with our stay will definitely come back to this hotel again.

We stayed for 2 nights during September.
We booked the standard room just the day before arrival so we received a good rate.
The location could not be better - just in the middle of the night market.
The lobby is very nice and as we entered we were greeted with a welcome cocktail.
The room was very clean although the bed was a bit small, but comfortable.
We stayed at the 7th floor and had a view of the street, which was nice.
The hotel went over renovations on the lower floors but it didn't bothered us - we didn't hear the noise.
There was a free WiFi which was also nice.
We had one problem with the bath wall which couldn't be closed so there were water all over the floor.
Also, the breakfast was highly overpriced: more than 400 B for a person for a day! We had our breakfasts at Siam coffee instead which was great.
To conclude, we had a good time and enjoyed the service.

Off the season, not many people, so it is very relaxing. Open/night market is just infront of the hotel. Masjid and Muslim food are also around the corner and within walking distance. Manage to get a very dedicated and honest muslim driver by the name of Ahmad who can easily understand my purpose - visiting some muslim brothers, visiting some mosques and the most important thing getting the halal food.
Travel tip:
If you're muslim and don't want to have trouble in getting halal food, call Ahmad @ +66897569090. He can bring you around Chiang Mai also with a very resonable charge.

Very plain room with no view

for an executive deluxe room it was very poor and plain.
the view from the window was of another building wall about 3 mtrs. away and we were on the 8th floor !! the tv had only one
movie channel. the bathroom was very small.
will we stay again? no.

i found this hotel pretty much as expected, nothing to rave about, nor nothing to complain about.
my initial impression was that the carpet could use a good steam clean, but this may be partly the dingy carpet color. and my usual thailand gripe about beds too hard.

Royal Princess is centrally located, and near the airport. The staff at the hotel are very proactive, and very friendly. We went during the rainy season, and they offered us the hotel's umbrella before we head out. Also, the hotel is very nicely located - it's near food areas and just right outside the hotel, there's a long strip of night market stalls (at night). It's been a great stay!

i really can't fault this hotel. the location is great and staff friendly. the room i had was large and comfortable and i got a good deal through agoda, so it was great value for money.
a little bit of construction noise but i think the hotel was going through a process of renovation. the pool was closed as a result but the hotel provided shuttle buses to their sister hotel minutes up the road. (the pool should be open by now)shuttle buses to airport provided for fee and the complimentary shuttle bus to shopping mall comes to this hotel. very convenient.
