gorgeous tropical green leafy gardens, second to none attentive staff, excellent breakfast (ooooh sooo full!), quirky boutique feel

nothing really! perhaps felt a little bit of pressure from the staff to upgrade to more expensive suite (new complex and obviously very low occupancy) - but we were perfectly happy in our delux rooms

stayed here two nights following elephant conservation camp mahout program (such a great experience!) with my parents who were visiting us here in Thailand and really topped off wonderful trip. Would highly recommend paying little bit more for delux room as much bigger and more private. Staff were excellent - very friendly, helpful with restaurant recommendations etc and no hastle when realised i had forgotten to print out my voucher (nightmare from previous experiences with some hotels). Breakfasts were so good - but to tempting to go crazy and order everything off the menu (unlimitted!) - good start to the day and breakfast room was very cute and quirky - old singer sewing machines frames converted inot tables - peddle away while you eat breakfast! One thing that the hotel may benefit from is a common area - we brought along some board games but found it hard to find a suitable spot to play without feeling like we may have been disrupting other guests.

Travel tip : Delux room worth every cent to upgrade. Good little thai restaurant on river called Antique House - trad thai cuisine and nice atmosphere. Also Mi casa - excellent authentic spanish rest and reasonable priced - better than any weve found in bkk to date

Great shower, safe in room for valuables, fantastic breakfasts, very quite, staff very helpful and speak English, very clean.

The hotel is a little out of the city centre but tuk tuks are easily found outside the hotel and it only takes a few minutes to the city centre.

The staff in this hotel are friendly and very helpful and the room was spotless, the rooms are looking out to a central courtyard with a variety of tropical plants which gave it a very relaxing ambiance. The breakfasts were fantastic with home made jams and bread which were delicious. Although the rooms were small we didn't feel restricted as the space is well used and it was very pleasant to sit out on the balcony overlooking the central courtyard. I would certainly go back to this hotel in future.

Tranquil, tropical atmosphere.

None

Shewe wana is a short 10 min walk from the station. We were greeted by friendly, courteous staff and escorted to our room through an oasis of tropical plants surrounding a small swimming pool. (there is also a larger pool.) The room was adaquately sized, spotless and air conditioned. Breakfast is mostly self service, offering fruits, eggs and banana pancakes. There is also a menu. The night market is a 15 min walk or 5 min tuk-tuk ride away. Sunday walking street within the city walls is well worth a visit. Enjoy titbits from the foodstalls.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Try the numerous day/half day tours on offer from various agents. It works out more informative and economical than going independent.
