My family with two children age 11& 16, have all enjoyed our stay in this resort hotel. We love the space in the room and it's quiet ambience. We also like the free wi-fi at the main lobby and the computer room. The breakfast spread was great too. They also provide shuttle to night markets.

Amazingly charming hotel in Chiang Mai

At the first eyesight at the lobby you will understand you arrive in an exceptional place. My room was not ready at arrival but they kindly upgraded me to a superior room category. very quiet at night if you are away from the road side with local thai home full of barking dogs at night and morning !!
Restaurant Tip:
Locared on the other side of Mae Ping river the best place to go eating is definitively the Riverside.

Regretfully, I decided to give Siripanna Villa a try as I generally stay at the Chedi whenever in Chiangmai. This was my honeymoon and things could not have been more disappointing. Although the physical plant is adequate, the service is far below 4 star and more like 3 star. I only found out after we met with management that they have only been in business for 2+ years. Well, two years should be long enough to iron out the severe gaps in dining and room service. Food quality at the breakfast and barbeque buffet was good as well as variety. However, when the staff clears an empty juice glass, it would be nice if they asked "would you like another" and not just clear the table. We took advantage of the "buy one, get one" Spa offer and for a 4 hour Nine Gems - Gold treatment, we were left for 30 minutes at a time by staff. Again, the Spa was beautiful but they missed the mark in service. We actually spoke with management (at their request) after I filled out my survey which was picked up early by room cleaning staff. They apologized but the overall disappointment to an otherwise exceptional trip could not be assuaged. At the price point and knowing what I know about Chedi, I don't think I could return to Siripanna, even on a freebie. Sorry, but you have much work to do. A good start would be more staff training and minimizing of families (with lots of kids running) as the quiet ambiance of this Lanna style is much too busy for my liking.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Chose a room away from the pool as things are noisy in the morning.

Best Place to stay in all of Thailand
The Entire feel of Siripanna was total and complete relaxation.

the service was amazing! everyone there is there to make your stay the best experience. they are so friendly and helpful. the ammenities are wonderful, the turning down of covers every early evening is an added perk, the breakfast is amazing with as many mochas that you can handle. their "happy hour" at the pool is great and there are several activities to check out during the week at siripana. they also provide shuttles to town 2x's a day. they have a beautiful spa that is a bit pricey, but can get a really good 2 for 1 deal if sellecting a package. overall, this was our favorite place to stay from bangkok to koh phi phi, and would absolutely stay in siripana again if we visit chiang mai in the future.

the stay was pleasant but felt a little ripped off. booked an airport transfer to hotel on arrival which costs baht while taxi cost only between baht.
there is only one restaurant and hence limited choice. one needs to be patient as the food takes some time to come but must say that it is good. we enjoyed our meals there.
Travel tip:
be prepare to pay for transport to city which costs about baht every trip compared to staying in a downtown hotel. however, you get serenity here which is what we were looking for.

i have to say this was one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at and i have traveled substantially. for the price, i couldn't believe how impeccable everything was. the rooms were large and had warm tones and unique decor. the hardwood flooring in the rooms looked new. the pool area was designed with careful thought and was very inviting and relaxing to swim in. there was a scent of jasmine throughout the entire hotel which was so relaxing as i came and went through the hotel. all the food was delicious and the breakfast was beyond my expectations, full egg and omelet station with pancakes and waffles, pastries, juices, excellent coffee and there was even a thai food section to choose from. if i could rate this hotel 1 to 10, i would give it a 10, i even had a 3 hour spa treatment which was incredible and the staff was very professional all throughout the hotel. nice job siripanna !
