We want you to pay the lowest possible rate for your room. If you have reserved a hotel room through Agoda, and then show us that you could book the same room, for the same dates, at a lower rate, that is viewable and bookable on another website, within 48 hours of booking your room with us, we will either match that rate or beat it. Star hotel is centrally located close to the night market in Chiang mai with lots of dining and shopping options. Don't expect comfort of a first class hotel, but if you are on a budget and just need a place to sleep, it might be your choice. If you like to book a sightseeing or rafting (recommended) tour took out for the various travel agents around and compare prices.
Restaurant Tip : Try the foodcourt in the night market. lots of choice for reasonable price and free dance performance in the evening.

close to night bazaar
close to bars restaurants
15 min drive from airport
friendly staff
tour office downstairsin lobby-> very nice !!
cheap roomservice
old room, needs some paint, needs new carpet
no pool
noice from construction next door
i stayed in this hotel for seven night. everything was ok, had no problems at all...
Breakfast was very good, rooms were clean, staff was helpfull, free complementary internet, water.
But water in bottles so only good when in room. very nice tourlady downstairs, she arranges everything for transportation, diner and entry fees. Easy pick up downstairs in the lobby.
2 minute walk to night bazaar and everything such as restaurants, bars, laundry services, massage, etc can be found here !
overall very good hotel for travelling people.
Nightlife Tip : check the bar of the hotel on the otherside off the star hotel, they have a not to expensive bar and live music every night. they accept requests and are very GOOD !!

Affordable
Center of Night Bazaar
Breakfast included
Dark lobby after hours felt unwelcoming
This was a great little place for an affordable stay. Knowing that the hotel was going to be a place to sleep only made it perfect for our needs. The breakfast was not elaborate but certainly enough for a good start to the day. The rooms looked newly remodeled and were clean and tidy. Although the lobby and front entrance were very dark and unwelcoming after hours, the staff made up for it with their helpful efficiency.

Large Room, very bright and warm atmosphere. Cleaning service and all necessities were available. Transport to airport and portering service good. Breakfast and meals were of good standard and nicely priced.
This Hotel was nicely located within easy walking distance to most places; night market; restaurants; bars; supermarket.
The Large Room was very comfortable and had all the usual amenities that you need.
I liked the free internet service which was popular. There was also daily newspapers, even umbrellas were provided when it rained!
Staff were very helpful and polite. This was my third time at this Hotel and I shall go again.
I stayed before in a large group and I know that everyone enjoyed their stay there.
Travel tip : PanTip Plaza Shopping Mall just 2 minutes walk, outside hotel and turn right. Mall has cheap Thai and Chinese food daily.

- near to night bazaar ( 5 minute of leisurely walk)
- complimentary cordial drinks avaialble from 1-6 pm daily
- Free internet for 20 minutes
- Breakfast ok
- Friendly staff and adequate English
-
- Rooms provided rather small for triple sharing
the one shown in borchure is bigger.
Disappointed !
- The road leading to night market is rather
quiet but well lighted.
- Taxi or tuk-tuk not readily available.
- No room safe, only downstairs. Missing the key will cost you 3000 THB, hotel liability is only 5000 THB max.
The hotel is located at the right location ! It is "technically" next to Centara Dungtawan Hotel, and 3 minutes walk away from Suringwose, its sister hotel. Meaning 5 minutes from the night market. The disappointement lies in the room provided. the brochure show a rather large deluxe room which can fit triple comfortable ( queen and single) but w ewere provided 2 single and an extra which make the room much much smaller. Maybe we were first time visitor but overall it is ok. Complimentary drinks provided from 1 -6 pm daily.
breakfast consist of both western and Thai menus. muslim food ( non- pork/vegetarian) available on request. Internet access provided free for first 20 minutes. The hotel entrance is behind the night bazaar main road. (parallel) This make it rather quiet especially late at night but the lighting is ok. Room is clean but the view is blocked by a new hotel in construction. TV is good with ESPN, HBO and Star movies available along with CNN and BBC. Two free drinking water but coffee/tea, have to pay.

very very near to night market, can find local food easily, massange center are at walking distance
a bit old and need renovation, limited choice for the breakfast
hotel is a bit old and renovation needed but still compatible with the price offer. limited choice for the breakfast but the staffs are very polite and helpful. the advantage of the hotel is very near to night bazaar, so you can shop till you drop if you really likes shopping & bargaining. joining the package probably is the best way and safer way to learn about Chiang Mai. Khantoke dinner is one of the activity you must try for one time.
Shopping Tip : Near to night bazaar - only 3 min walk. remember to bargain as the price given is slightly high

Hotel was very nice, clean, bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water for bathing. Staff very friendly and able to handle any problems. Pool was lovely with nice view, and very clean.
The breakfast was ok. Nothing spectacular and one might seek breakfast somewhere else if you want variety. Was same meal both days and not many western foods. For those without their own transportation a little out of the way for night bazaar, malls, or sightseeing.
The Park was very nice get away, clean, comfortable, and friendly staff. Great place to park and relax. Would recommend anytime.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are in town on Sunday evening, arrange a ride to the walking market near Taipae Gate. Wear very comfortable shoes for it is huge and more interesting than the night bazaar.

Excellent location, heart of the night bazaar area.
friendly helpful staff.
excellent service.
we stay at the star hotel chiangmai on every trip we do there. It is in the heart of the night bazaar area, but just tucked off the main street, so privacy and quietness is assured, the staff are alway s helpful and courteous, and nothing is a problem for them, The desk staff are always willing to help out in any way they can. The included breakfast is buffet style. the wait staff are always friendly and smiling and do a tremendous job. you have full access to the amenities at the sriwongse hotel across the road, Tea and coffee facilities are available in the room and free internet access in the lobby. We love it and will continue to stay there whenever we visit chiangmai
Restaurant Tip : the german club.....YUM

Location is very close to the night bazaar
everything except the location.
We booked two nights, we checked out after the first night. Room was not clean and especially the carpet was awfully dirty. Lots of mosquitos and there is a construction next to the hotel which makes the room noisy in the mornings. Feels like it is a creepy alley hotel with multistoreys.Location is very close to the night bazaar but not in the old centrum. it is a cheap hhotel anyway, you can get a much better hotel with 20$ extra per night.Hotel prices are quite reasonable in chiang mai.
Shopping Tip : Walking distance to the night bazaar, 3 min apr.

good breakfast, cable TV has NatGeo and BBC, some movie channels, good water pressure
no safe, no electronic key card
This was an ok hotel for the money. There was no safe in the room; you have to use the safety deposit boxes behind the front desk. Also, they ask you to leave the room key at the front desk when you leave the hotel. Good breakfast. Also, they have 2 computers in the lobby with internet for guest use, but the connection is slow.

had free internet at reception
not much choice in menu at hotel
we found the cleaners to only do an average job didnt vacuum the room and the shower had hair in the drain from the last customer while we were there i dont think they cleaned the bathroom at all
although we did get clean towels each day. the rooms are bright and airy. we had two rooms one had building construction noise during the day and the other had bar noises at night. both rooms the curtains did not reach across the window and light came in all night. they have a computer at reception that you can use for the internet for free, just get in the que kids play games on it as well. this hotel is just around the corner from the night markets but the lane way is not well lit at night easy to get lost as the hotel is not well signed. the breakfast menu was the same every day the staff had no idea how to cook eggs. and the menu for the restaurant wasnt much good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you go to Chang Mai you must go to see the Tigers for $30. aussie dollars you can pat tigers for half an hour and its not far out of town really cheap and something youll never forget.
