It's a great base to explore the old city area.

Sadly mosquito and flies are prevalent. I suggest that they plant lemon grass and Tabacco plants. These are natural insect repellants.

We loved the Tadkham Village hotel! The rooms were very nice and clean with a tv, hot shower, fridge and huge comfy bed. The staff were absolutely the most friendly hotel staff that we had encountered throughout our entire travels in Thailand. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all travellers.

we enjoyed our stay at tadkham village. even though the hotel is located outside the walls, it is an easy walk to the night bazaar and to the center. the beds were a little too hard, but other than that, we were very pleased with this small 27 room hotel. great value and service. breakfasts were more than adequate and the english speaking staff was very helpful. located on a very quiet street, so you are removed from the hustle of being inside the walls.

perfect place from which to explore chiang mai. hotel looks amazing, room was spacious, clean, staff were helpful. due to the things we were doing we weren't there / up in time to eat a proper breakfast, but it looked decent. no bar/restaurant to speak of, but you can buy a drink and sit in the pleasant courtyard at the front, and anyway, with chiang mai right there, who wants to sit in your hotel all the time. quiet as well, with the exception of the cockerel out back that starts belting out a tune at half six in the morning. one of the nicer places we've stayed in thailand, no complaints here.
Nightlife Tip:
If you're going to the Sunday market, get there early, the streets get packed and you can barely move.
