Great location, beautiful hotel
9
overall, a pleasant place to stay. clean, relaxing atmosphere, good breakfast, friendly staff etc. on the down side, the roosters did drive me crazy at times especially at 4 am. also, it is situated just outside the old city and is a bit of a walk from all the temples and pae's gate. nonetheless, the hotel is good for the price you pay.

The hotel is located several minutes walk away from the old city, and as such is a little far from all the hustle and bustle.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the accomodafions are quite comfortable.
A great hotel for a very reasonable price.

Quiet ambiance, ideal for couples

the tadkham hotel is the place to go if you want to stay in a quiet place. it is very charming and the personal is extremely nice.
the rooms are big and cleaned everyday.
ideal for young couples because not expensive but still very charming.

OK Basic
Close to the Saturday Market
5.3
This hotel is out of the way from everything including places to eat though it is close to the Saturday Market. Note that the roosters will awake you if the slamming of the doors in the corridor do not - the place has potential but it is not a place for R&R - as they way the cement building is designed is setup to attract & magnify noise. Not close to any of the major wats either. The lobby area is cute but unfortunately, I cannot think of a good reason to stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
Unfortunately for food, you need to make a trek. There is nothing close by. Not even a 7-11 which appears on every corner throughout the city. If you're starving, a suggestion would be to go after one of the roosters in the yard behind the hotel - I'm sure several guests would thank you.

Lovely relaxing hotel
Comfortable and a great breakfast
9.7
the hotel is close enough to walk to everywhere in central chiang mai but is tucked away in a quite corner. the setting of the hotel is beautiful, a tranquil space to relax in when you are tired of sightseeing. the staff are helpful and friendly and have information about lots of tours and activities around chaing mai and can help to organise these. the rooms are clean, comfortable and equipt with everything you would require from a hotel. i would definitely recommend the hotel.

Don't be fooled by "pretty" pictures
4
this hotel is not the place to stay if you're looking for rest & relaxation. it's nothing short of a cement cell block / echo chamber where you can hear every conversation and door slam up and down the u-shaped enclosure regardless of the room you stay in. if you're lucky, you may be able to achieve some kind of spotty connection in the breakfast common area.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You'd be better off spending your $ somewhere else. Unfortunately we booked 4 nights of non-refundable misery here. The location is also way off the beaten track.

Nice hotel with polite staff
8
the hotel staff are nice and polite. the hotel is maintained spotlessly clean. it has an attractive open-area where one can sit. the breakfast is very good quality. there are two pcs for guest use which is handy.
wifi can be slow at times. the bedrooms are a little "empty" and cold in my opinion. we stayed in jan and were cold at night. the beds had very light blankets and it cost extra to rent another blanket!
Travel tip:
If you have mopeds it takes then you can reach the centre of Chang Mai in no time. On foot it takes a good 10-15 mins to walk from the centre of the main action in Chang Mai.

Lovely hotel in quiet location
Good location, great service, lots of value for money
8.7
I was staying at Tadkham for the second time, and was very satisfied again. The neighborhood is really quiet and nice, and it's not long from the old city (five minutes walk) or the airport (ten minutes drive).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very near the Saturday walking street market.
