Tadkham is wonderful and great value for money. Staffs are very friendly. Rooms are simple & clean. The hotel is 10mins walk to Sunday Night Market.

No weakness here.

Tadkham was pleasant and clean, and the staff were always helpful. The hotel is located near ChiangMai Gate. Overall we like our stay in Tadkham......highly recommended

I just used here for daily stay so I do not know about breakfast. The place is a bit far from downtown and not easy to find if you do not know about Chiangmai well but very quiet place and overall I am satisfied.

Quiet; clean; delightful, helpful staff; so inexpensive; charming small hotel

Mostly from the time of year I would guess, but better mosquito control would be good; Maybe even mosquito nets optional for beds. Bath soaps came in pottery jars that slipped from my soapy hands and broke twice - not too safe. Dangerous for kids. Lounge chairs near the lobby (for dining / sitting very uncomfortable - real butt busters.

From first sight, driving all of ten minutes from the airport, I knew I would like this place. It is charming in so many ways, with fragrant flowers in and nearby, fish pond, and spa decor that was a joy. It was a pleasure just sitting near the entrance and having a cold beer (readily available from the staff). The staff was always kind and most helpful; they seemed to want to go that extra mile to make our stay a treat. The hotel is easy walking distance to all of old town and good restaurants are to be found just blocks away (Good Italian food in Northern Thailand; who would have thought). The hotel has low cost tours available which I plan on doing next visit. Next visit? Absolutely - this is where I will stay. Lastly, it is very inexpensive. Save your money for all the activities Chiang Mai has to offer and stay at Tadkham Village.

Restaurant Tip : Stay away from the hyped restaurant experiences - We had a bad one. The restaurants and shops (good french bread, good lasagna) near the hotel and the food stalls at the night bazaar or markets at the nearest main intersection (5 minute walk) are all you need.

Neat, quiet & friendly

not convinient to enjoy the night life in the old city

that's a very quiet place to have a rest and enjoy a relax vocation for it's not close to the old city and main avenues . Eating in the small and nice garden let me enjoy a day start with a good breakfast and a good morning. I will strongly recommend to my friends to live in this hotel.

its all good here

like i said before...the air con was a bit noisy...but it worked fine

we ended up staying a total of 7 nights here ...after seeing other places i realised that our location was great as we were tucked down a side street that was very quiet and as its very close to the wulai walking market that was a bonus...very helpful and friendly staff..the breakfast included several choices and was enough to get us through to late afternoon most days...our twin room was very big and comfortable and the cleaners do a great job...would definitely recommend this place...great value and great service

Shopping Tip : just down the road is a very good french bakehouse and cafe...the cinnamon pastries are excellent

great location....nice and quiet at night....adequate breakfast included.....great tv reception.....friendly staff...great value

im only including this cause i cant think of any else that was a "con"...the air con was a little noisy but it worked fine

we found our stay at the tadkham village to be very comfortable and the receptionist at the time was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for all our needs...its nice and quiet at night and the breakfast included in the tarriff is great value compared to what you can buy outside...the location is very close to the wulai walking market on saturdays which is a chilled out mini version of the sunday walking market...would definitely recommend this place and if i am fortunate enough to return in the near future would definitely stay there again

Restaurant Tip : this place isnt that close by but its only 20baht in a songteaow...wat sean dok has a lovely vegitarian restaurant under a bodhi tree called punpun...yum yum...probably havent spelt it right but isounds like shon dok and its out near the uni..enjoy

There is small souvenir shop in hotel (reasonable price)and internet service for in house guest for 15 mnts (free of charge)as well. Service staffs very nice and friendly. You can touch Thai Northern Style according.

The television not quite clear and aircon. not quite cool but every thing okay for me.

It's very nice place and all staff have service mind, hotel decoration very nice including inside accommodation and hotel facilities as well. The location is so good it in the down town easy to go to any place and Saturday evening there is local shopping walking street as well.

Shopping Tip : There are shopping walking street and local market nearby the hotel.

quiet, clean, lovely hotel and helpful staff

not really a convenience location

really worth for money, beautiful as their official photo, clean ,really helpful staff and feel like home. as it is in the village, it's bit far from the central of city... but no problem for us at all... we will go out with tuk tuk anyway.. from hotel to downtown.. like 40 baht

Restaurant Tip : Go to Ginger!!! nice restaurant in the old town!!!

Hotel has good appearance. Affordable Price.

Mediocre Service. Lack of English.

A quiet little place just off the city waters, simple hotel for a simple stay. The front yard of this hotel is surprisingly beautiful, quite amazed at the way it represented itself. A good place to stay if after exploring the city you are looking for a nice quiet night in your room and not needing any special requirements. If you are looking for service, this is not the ideal place to stay, when I asked for a hair dryer, instead of delivering it to me, they made me go downstairs to fetch it myself. The 2 PC's providing internet for customers was VERY limited in it's internet capabilities providing difficulties even just for checking internet. Overall, for simplicity this is a nice place to stay, but if you are looking for a more service oriented hotel, I would recommend another.

Clean, quiet, nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice spa at reasonable prices.

It's a bit far from all the actions, but I didn't mind it so much. Staff called tuk-tuks and taxis for us. The location makes it nice and quiet.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Tadkham Village Hotel. The rooms are simple, but nicely done and very clean. The staff were always helpful. It's tucked away in a residential area, which makes it a bit far from shops, etc., but also quiet and relaxing - not very touristy. There is a nice spa which offers various treatments at reasonable prices.

Lovely setting, very picturesque inside & out. Good size rooms, free internet.

Service could have been better. The breakfast choice was limited. There was no swimming pool

My partner & I stayed at the Tadkham for 4 nights & we enjoyed our stay there overall.Service could have been better especially when compared to other hotels for the same money. We had a deluxe room & were surprised they never replaced the coffee's in the room.Other hotels give you free fruit, soft drinks airport transfer etc.The sink broke & we weren't offered an alternative room after they failed to make the repair.

Restaurant Tip : There are some wonderful local places to eat 10min walk from the hotel on the main rd into town. One place does these fabulous omelates, noodle soups & sizzling plates which were so good & very cheap. 100baht for 2 inc a drink each.

Comfortable and clean rooms, peaceful location.

Nothing! Liked it all!

Beautiful hotel, very clean. The rooms actually looked the pictures! The main receptionist was very helpful and spoke excellent English. The spa was very nice and VERY affordable (about $30 for a 2.5 hour massage). Breakfast was decent. The location was very peaceful - outside the downtown area. But Chiang Mai is so small that the downtown circle was only a 15 minute walk away.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Elephant Nature Park - one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life. They pick you up at the hotel.

Value for money, overall hotel atmosphere, complimentary bottles of water, free internet.

Location is a bit remote and breakfast could be of more variety especially if you are staying for a longer period. However this is outweighted by the pros of the hotel.

Tadkham Village Hotel was our first hotel on our 24 days trip in south-east Asia and it was definitely a good choice for the 3 night stay. We booked the hotel mainly because it is recommended by Tripadvisor. It is an excellent value for money. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful palm trees with a small lake unlike the other hotels we have seen in Chiang Mai. Rooms were clean and spacious, staff was helpful and the chief office clerk could speak good english. Breakfast was OK, location is a bit remote, however the hotel has its own tuk-tuk driver who will drive you anywhere in the town for a reasonable price. Overall it has been an excellent stay.

Good Air-con, Peaceful setting, quiet location, clean big rooms, friendly staff

Loved my stay at Tadkham Village. Beautiful peaceful setting after the madness of Bangkok. Staff were really friendly and helped book cooking courses, minibuses etc. It is a little bit away from night bazaar and bars( around a 15min walk or 60B in a tuk tuk) but the peaceful setting made up for it.

Restaurant Tip : There is a cool little bar restaurant 2 mins walk away(across from Chiang Mai Gate Hotel) called Prime cafe. They do good food and the owners are really friendly.
