nice hotel. it was really close to some great restaurants (rosewood). but it is not in chang mai and is a traffic jam getting there. good for a stay close to a flight, .
stayed 2 nights at shangri la in chang mai, and it rocked.
Travel tip:
Tiger Kingdom was awesome. Zip Lining was scary but really fun.

This is a very nice little boutique style hotel about 15 minutes from the city. The rooms were huge with a seperate bedroom,lounge and kitchenette. The pool was very nice and the layout of the hotel is very green and the gardens are well kept. The staff were always very helpful and tried hard to provide a good service. The hotel is a little way out of town but it is located next to Kad Farang witch is a large tourist market area with a couple of nice restaurants and coffee shops...We had a rental car and so the location was no problem but if you don't there are planty of local taxi's plying the Hang Dong road into Chiang Mai.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit Wat Doi Kham for better views of Chiang Mai than Doi Suthep.

Really nice place to stay if you have a car and want to get away from the bustle of the city. But if you are staying for just a night or 2 staying closer to the city may suit better

Spent one night here in the low season and it was a real bargain. Really comfortable bedroom and living room suite. Very nice pool area also, while the staff were courteous and helpful. Would recommend it.

Loved the setting!
I loved the room decor, kitchenette, porch and deck area, and the outdoor shower!

I was at the Taraburi resort with a bunch of girl friends and we really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the pool one afternoon and especially appreciated the setting of privacy. The location of the resort is also a plus since you feel removed from the city, yet there are various restaurants, a coffee shop and grocery close by. We walked out for supper the one evening, and enjoyed the scenery leading out to the main road.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort for a time of relaxation and beauty!

I had a great experience staying at Taraburi Resort for 4 nights in March 2010. The setting of this resort reminds you of being close to Mother Nature. There are many trees and plants although this also means that there are many mosquitoes and insects. The room is big and comfortable, definately value for the price i paid.
Location of this resort is alittle far from the city and this could cost you some money if you need to travel out quite often.
Overall, i would like to stay at Taraburi Resort again for the great service and comfortable room.

Stayed at Taraburi Resort the second time, this time we upgraded to their VIP suite where my family needed another room. We enjoyed every bit of the time at this suite, especially on the indoor Jacuzzi. A much needed rest and returned much rested.

didn't get off to a good start when the hotel transfer failed to meet me, then ,on instruction from the hotel, the taxi they hastily arranged from the airport compant tried to charge me the hotel amount of 300bt rather than the 150bt on the metre.
once arrived and settled in ( 90 mins late) the room and overall ambience calmed me until i discovered there was no bar and no restaurant in operation, fortunately i know chiang mai and have friends here so just used the place as a base to sleep and shower and spent my money elsewhere!!
