very pleasant service

there are some mosquitos limited activity program such as yoga and cooking class

The hotel is located near Night Market, famous shopping spot in Chiangmai. We really enjoyed our holiday in Chedi with excellent service. However, the hotel provided very limited activity program such as yoga and cooking class.

The staff was extremely nice. The design and layout of the hotel was incredible.

This place was amazing! The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel layout is so nice and the rooms are so quiet. Each room seems to have a great view. The floors were beautiful and the bed was so comfortable and we did not have one complaint the whole time we were staying there. The breakfast included was awesome as well - they had everything! It was our favorite hotel during our honeymoon and we plan to stay at other locations of this same company.

Shopping Tip : The night market is very close to this location and great for buying gifts.

The setting, service, food, and architecture.

The hotel was very nice, I will stay there every time I go to Chiang Mai. Right across the street from night bazaar.

Travel tip : We used the car while we stayed at the Hotel. On the last day the car was not available so we had to take a Taxi. The price of the Taxi was significantly less then hiring the car. Although the car did come with some amenities; like cold towel and bottle water.

design of the hotel, location

few bonusess, no complementary coffee, expensive hotel shop, no business center

The level of service is significantly inferior to the chedi puket. the management may not be the same, the philosophy is compleetly different, location is not so great, it's still quite far from city center and not that close from night bazar. breakfast is just ok.

The hotel is comtemporarily and modern which makes me feel very comfortable.

More choices for the restaurant especially thai food.

I choose the Chedi based on the information contained in the internet. My basis of choosing the Chedi was because I find the hotel quite modern and the pictures depicts a very cosy environment. Upon checking into the hotel, I find the hotel as what I expected and to add to my impression of the hotel, I find the staff especially the concierge very helpful and accommodating. I enjoyed staying there even more with the helpful staff and I also enjoyed using the spa. Overall, it was a perfect getaway for me and I would not hesitate to go back there to stay.

Restaurant Tip : The best chinese restaurant is just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

ambience, service, design, comfort!

towels

Our stay at the Chedi exceeded expectations. We were anticipating a high quality hotel and a pleasant stay - but everything about the stay really exceeded expecations. Most critically the design, architecture and layout of the hotel are extremely well done. When you step off the street of a hot and humid Chiang Mai, and a crowded night bazaar, one feels transported and calm. The attention to detail was impressive and consistent - from the pleasant and attentive service (whether one is at breakfast, poolside, the spa or getting a taxi) - to the small nice touches such as different fresh fruit each day which is displayed with care, the floating candles, the water lilies poolside.. Food was overall very good - tasty and of good quality. A broader selection of Thai dishes would be welcomed, but that is simply a personal preference. A stay at the hotel is a holiday in and of itself - as well as a well located launching point to enjoy Chiang Mai and the area.

The Chedi is a peice of art. The design makes you feel relaxed upon entry. It is colonial, modern and cozy at the same time. The staff are also some of the best I have encountered in Thailand. I loved the big balcony! I really enjoyed the spa treatments as well. The Chedi Jade Massage lasts one hour with two masseurs. Amazing! The high tea is also a good afternoon treat.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Chedi and had a very enjoyable stay. Staff are extremely efficient and were very friendly. Loved being on the river and the location was handy to everything we wanted to do. Couldn't fault the room, superb.

- Comfortable and quiet rooms - attentive staff- easy walk to night market - hotel dining, though expensive, is quite good

- fairly small pool - lattice design on exterior makes building feel like a cage

Stayed at the Chedi on a first trip to Chiang Mai largely because of a very positive experience at the Nam Hai last year in Vietnam. Granted, the Chedi is a hotel, not a resort...although nice, it was a bit of a disappointment...perhaps my expectations were simply too high. That being said, the Chedi is a very comfortable hotel with an attentive staff...it's in-city location though does not lend itself to an ideal spot for relaxation. If you're interested in city sights and the night market, this is probably an ideal spot for you. If, on the other hand, you are more interested in an activities based stay, I would probably opt for a resort out of town

Chic decor, simple yet fulfilling breakfast, cooling swimming pool, accomodating staffs, and much more

NONE!

Most relaxing and satisfying stay! If you are one of those worn-out, need-to-recharge ppl, then this is the place for you. The chic decor, most soothing ambiance and friendly staffs who do not go overboard definitely comforted my much tired souls. Everything was wonderful except one short-coming: The Chedi Spa. Expecting nothing less than perfection, i was hoping for a heavenly experience, however their four-hands massages were not very syncronized and a bit lacking. A bit undervalue for the money...

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cooking classes were most memorable,,,

- very nice relaxing athmospere - nice design and look of the hotel - good internet access - great breakfast - good value for money (low season)

- Staff dont try to find the best taxi service, only refer to the expensive one provided by the hotel. Even lying to us when we asked for alternatives.

The hotel is amazing! We will probably go back to Chiang Mai and stay in this hotel again. It has a very good relaxing feeling over the whole place. I can recommend tihs hotel but below I will just write about the two things that we did not like. However in all we are happy with our stay here. Most personal are very friendly and helpful with a few exceptions. Especially some of the girls working in the reception could not handle that my wife came there and asked them for their service and make calls. At this time there was a slight arrogance from the staff and it was clear that they did not enjoy being asked to provide their services. That is strange if you work in a 5 star hotel like this one. Seconds bad thing was that we wanted to go somewhere in Chiang Mai. Hotel staff only refered to hotel taxi services. We used it once and it was not a nice experience. The driver kept talking and asking questions for the whole trip of 6 hours. Also the hotel taxi is more expensive than other taxis. Yes it is easy to use it but when we asked for alternatives we were told that all taxis in Chiang Mai charge same price. Of course that is not true. We were able to find taxis that charged much less.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Best place to visit in Chiang Mai is the Nimmanhaemin road and the surrounding areas. Avoid the night market. It is mega touristic there.

Great views of the river, delicious breakfast, nice rooms, fantastic service

Nothing

Great hotel next to the river. Within walking distance to the night market. You can rent free bikes from the hotel and bike around the old city. The service is warm and helpful. They helped us to book the tours we wanted and recommended things to see in the city. The breakfast was a highlight, especially the items you can order off the menu. We had an early flight on the last day and they were very accomodating in getting us breakfast by room service. The room we stayed in was perfect. We had a nice view of the river from our patio. The pool area is also very nice.

Restaurant Tip : Be sure to go into the old city for some delicious khao soy

- tranquil, manicured grounds and simple but stately modern architecture combine to create a serene experience - top notch service at all levels - front desk, drivers, spa, food & beverage service, everyone was so warm and friendly - lovely room with comfortable bed and balcony daybed - convenient to anusan seafood and night market - just a short walk down the street to our favorite noodle shop

can't think of any!

I had read several favorable reviews of The Chedi when planning our 4 days/ 3 nights stay in Chiang Mai. I wanted to surprise my fiance with a luxurious hotel stay in a hotel with all the modern conveniences AND individual charm. The Chedi was a perfect match. The mix of modern and traditional architecture alone was fantastic. Room service did not disappoint. The front desk staff were extremely helpful when arranging a driving tour (driver and tour guide included) to visit the major points of interest around Chiang Mai. It was also extremely convenient without being in the center of everything like other major hotels. Since we visited during low season we were able to benefit from special pricing that sweetened the deal even more. We highly recommend the Chedi and can't wait to visit again.

Restaurant Tip : The noodle shop Tab Tim Krob is just across the streets and a few blocks down, directly across from another hotel. Descriptive English menus with photos are a nice touch for those not intimately familiar with Thai noodle dishes. We went there three times in four days.
