The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel
10
The hotel was centrally located within the city and was close to everthing. The room was very clean and provided what myself and my fiance needed. All hotel employees were very helpful and courteous. This was my first time visiting Thailand and I would definitely visit again and stay at this hotel again in the future.

Overall the place was okay.. Its located close to the night market and eateries.. at first you wouldnt notice and very peaceful..Go around the corner where the trees cover the area from the hotel and you pop into another world..Lots do to do and see in the area..you have shopping, bars, and even a free thai boxing show..I would stay here again if and when i head back to Chiang Mai..

Everything you'd want
Good sized room, great location, good for booking tours, beer garden is popular. Good breakfast buffet.
9.3
Hotel room was comfortable with decent shower. Location was within walking distance of most places of interest. Beer garden was fun at night. Tour service helped us plan a temple tour. Free breakfast buffet had wide selection of American and Thai foods. Active night life within walking distance. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great foot massage across street. Excellent laundry service.
Restaurant Tip:
Half a block away at Cafe of Siam is an excellent place for an afternoon treat and relaxation.

Great location; one of the fomerly fine grand hotels, and still has its charm; Good live music in lounge and Beer Gardens. Staff is great and go out of their way to please.

Great location; one of the fomerly fine grand hotels, and still has its charm; Good live music in lounge and Beer Gardens. Staff is great and go out of their way to please. After extending our stay for a total of 9 nights, the breakfast could have used more variety, although it did have a great deal to start with. Could have used more types of bread, but the eggs were especially good.
Nightlife Tip:
Near night market and enjoyed the Guitar Man bar, which had some great rock-in-roll bands every night except Sundays, located 5 whort blocks away.

To be recommended
Great location / Large rooms / Helpful staff / Big car park
7.7
The rooms are nice and the mattresses & pillows first class. The air/con is easily adjusted and does not blow directly onto the beds. Nice buffet breakfast with choice. Internet connections are not wi-fi in the rooms nor are they free but the rates are reasonable compared to other places. The windows are unfortunately blocked and can only open a few centimetres (to prevent suicides/accidents?). They are covered with a coloured tint that does not adhere well to the glass resulting in a constellation of little bubbles that spoil the view. The swimming pool is nice.

Modern,efficient, above expectations
Beautiful, clean pool in a garden setting.Nice little work out room. Modern "normal" American style bathroom. Good sized room. In room wi-fi. Exceptional breakfast, large selection of delicious foods. Fast efficient service.
9.3
The Imperial is centrally located. We walked to the walking street market and shopped the many shops close by.
At first arrival, the court yard and hotel looks impressive and safe. The porters were immeditely in charge of our luggage and guided us to reception where check in was friedly and quick. This hotel is run well by any standard. We will stay here every time we are in Chiang Mai.
Travel tip:
The hotel conveniently will do laundry, but across the street at the entrance are laundry shops that do as good a job for much less money.
