10 min to the airport. Night Bazaar really close by. Good restaurant downstairs for dinner, breakfast was just okay.
Weekend was very noise in room because of the night club across the parking lot. I could not get the same rate after being in the hotel for one more night without booking throught the internet. Away from the sites but so does it seem for every other hotel
From arrival check-in went smooth, dinner was good prices averaged in the 190 bht, a little higher than many other places. Tried to book one more night at the front dest and was not able to get the same rate I was already paying had to get on the internet to receive my discounte pricing. The music on the weekend filled the room from the club across the parking lot, but then again I was to tired to care.
Nightlife Tip : Right across the parking lot. Billiards, Muythai fighting, food on the weekend.

good location, nice and beautiful swimming pool, and the room is absolutely great, comfortable, and lots of facilities in the room, worth to pay indeed.
only bathroom that look quite old, but it's ok, clean..even not much.
i stayed in this hotel for two night stays, it 's worth to stay here indeed. the hotel is in the good lacation, even the room is not included the breakfast, but it's just 2 mins walk from the hotel to get the nice restaurant at the cornor, cheap and nice food. the room price is quice cheap by now, and got up grade to get a delux room, 4 bottle of water in a room + newspaper, and sandals in the room, with two pyjaimas also..it's very near to get night bazaar..just 2 mins walk...very worth indeed to stay here. i will be back for my holiday in Chiang Mai next time...
Hotel Feature Tip : very good and worth to stay in this hotel, cheap, nice, comfortable, easy to get night bazaar. very very good hotel.

room is quite comfortable, cheap and easy to get night bazaar. staff is very kind, helpful. good to stay here.
only bathroom that look too old.
just 2 mins walk to get night bazaar and many places surround. the room is quite cheap, breakfast is absolutely nice. worth to stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : if you would like to see Chiang Mai's night life, i think staying in this hotel very worth. it's easy to get night bazaar--biggest night market and the hub of chiang mai. also it's easy to catch a taxi to go to many places in chiang mai..cheap and comfortable also..i will be back next time with my nice couple.

Central and efficient, the guest services Manager went out of his way to assist us.
We arrived to Changmai from Luang Prabang, and the welcoming drink was a pleasent surprise. We are travelling with our two young children, so it was particularly nice when we were taking care of the registration process that the staff were entertaining our two children. We changed our booking at the last minute and they were happy to accomodate that change. The breakfast was a feast, and even enticed my two year old to eat something (always a challenge - such a fussy eater).
A very pleasent stay.

The location is very convenient. The night market is just around the corner and the old city is just a few minutes walk. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and offered something for everyone. The room was very comfortable and immaculately clean.
I honestly cannot think of anything that was less than satisfactory during my stay at the Imperial Mae Ping.
It's always difficult to book a hotel in a strange city. But Agoda's description of the hotel's amenities and location were convincing and, as it turns out, accurate. The location was ideal making the hotel an easy base for exploring the sights and popping back into the hotel from time to time for a rest or a refresher. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, the hotel staff professional and friendly and the immense garden surrounding the hotel so beautiful. I found the Mae Ping to be exceptional quality for the price.
Travel tip : As you walk out of the main entrance to the hotel and just around the first corner to the left, don't miss the foot massage place where chairs are set out on the sidewalk in the evening. It makes a perfect close to a great day!

Clean, well maintained hotel with friendly staff.
The checkin was efficient and the staff was friendly and helpful. While checking in, the front desk clerk offered to upgrade our room after the first night when a high floor view room became available. The hotel is clean and well maintained and has the feeling of traditional Northern Thai Hospitality.

Good breakfast. location is convenient for food, drinks, shopping and massage. clean room and comfortable bed.
TV need to be upgraded and TV programmes as well.
stayed at the mae ping for 2 nights. enjoyed the stay especially the breakfast where you can eat as much as you like in a relaxing way. the hotel is ideally located and close to eating places, bars, massage parlours, shops and is easy to find the hotel.the hotel staff is helpful and the room is clean. However the Tv is old and is time the management upgrade to LCD and with more TV programmes. The hotel rate is very reasonable considering that the hotel is patronised by many bisiness travellers and the facilities that they have in the hotel.
Nightlife Tip : round the corner of the hotel you will see many small bars and is a nice place to chill it out.

Visually, the hotel makes a very good first impression. It is set in the midst of a very large lush tropical garden and has a very nice and welcoming lobby area. The staff are professional and friendly. We found our room (on the 8th floor) to be comfortable, quiet and clean. And the breakfast buffet...!!!
There was really nothing about the hotel that I did not like.
We were in Chiang Mai during the Lua Krathong Festival in early November when so many evening activities are focused on the riverside area. The hotel offered a perfect location for being close to the evening action - both night bazzar and riverside festival - as well as being just a few minute's walk from the old town. In fact, the hotel is situated just around the corner from the night bazzar (great place to find your dinner!) and midway between the old town and the river. We found it to be a convenient base for our sightseeing as we could easily pop back into the hotel for a refresher as we needed to. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and professional. Check in-out quick and easy, lobby staff helpful and always smiling, and the cleaning staff should really be commended for keeping the place shining. I would recommend the Mae Ping to anyone planning to be in Chiang Mai and I will certainly make it a point to use the hotel on future trips to the city.
Travel tip : Take the time to explore the tiny backstreets around the hotel where you will find some lovely and quiet temples where you can rest your feet and enjoy the shady coolness and silence for a bit.

Large quiet hotel, secure, great location
Everything was great, nothing to improve
I have been to Chaing Mai 3 times now and this is the best hotel that I have stayed in, and would stay again. Great service, good price, secure and quiet. I had my birthday there and after an exhausting day sightseeing arrived to my room to find flowers and a birthday cake, which had happy birthday and my name written on it - what a lovely surprise and gift from the hotel!!
The hotel is in a great location, has large rooms, and polite and courteous staff.
I had booked for two people but took my daughter and the hotel did not charge for her.
I would recommend that you pay for breakfast in the original booking price as this is a cheaper option than paying as you arrive. (Breakfast has everything you could want).
I will be back to stay again at this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Do not use the hotel tour booking service as you will pay more - use the tour booking services in the shops along the street and ask for disount!

- friendly and helpful staff
- simple but cosy hotel
- Difficulty in locking the windows
- an aisle of the building faces the bars and can therefore be very noisy until 2-3 AM.
- the hotel needs a "refresh"
I have been impressed by the swimming pool on the first floor : small but very nice and comfortable.
During my first night, still jetlaged, I was awoken by the noise coming from the bars downunder. The manager kindly offered me to change the room for the next nights and everything was fine for the rest of the stay.
The hotel is litteraly a 5-minute walk to the night bazzar.
Nightlife Tip : Very close to the night market and night bazar of Chiang Mai.

1) Good Location. Near Night Bazaar
2) Clean
3) Air con and water heating are well regulated
4) Staffs are helpful and speak clear English
1) My booking did not provide free breakfast
2) Gave me twin beds without checking with me
3) No smoking room available
I booked this hotel through agoda.com It is reasonably priced and is located in the heart of Chiang Mai city. The hotel itself has a good range of open air restaurants; I noticed there are live performances in one of them too. Like many Thai citizens, the staffs were very friendly and helpful. Although the place is safe, the hotel has security guards to man the area.
The pros:
1) Good Location. Near Night Bazaar
2) Clean
3) Air con and water heating are well regulated
4) Staffs are helpful and speak clear English
The cons:
1) My booking did not provide free breakfast
2) Gave me twin beds without checking with me
3) No smoking room available

Shopping Tip : I have the privilege to shop often in Chiang Mai. Surprisingly, you will find that the cheapest places to shop are the big shopping centers. Unless you are looking for exotics items like spices or tribal clothing.

Location, swimming pool, value for money.
Old hotel that needs renovation. Some rooms dirty.
This is my 2nd stay at the Imperial Mai Ping. And things have changed in the last 14 months and not for the better. I stayed in a Royal Suite, which is a nice size. And the bed is very good. Although i would not choose this hotel again as it is clear their maintenance is not up to the mark. And the food quality has gone down hill too.

Fabulous outdoor pool and convenient to the night bazaar
Typical big-box generic hotel
We loved the pool and the hotel's proximity to the night market. Rooms were big enough, very clean, nice bathrooms, good free buffet breakfast with lots of selection. Don't use their tour or transportation services -- wildly overpriced, especially the taxis and minivans when all you have to do is walk about 15 metres onto the street and flag down your own. The little rice-flour-and-coconut desserts for breakfast are a real treat.
