Nice location, friendly staff
Modern set up quiet location
8.7
We arrived early and the staff were very welcoming, taking our bags so we could have lunch while the room was cleaned ahead of our agreed check in time. All the team were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, even turning off the water feature at night so that we could sleep better!
The beds were very comfortable and the rooms clean. Our room wasn't quite what we were expecting from the photos - these bright white rooms cost more. Ours was at the back of the property and was quite dark and not as attrative but everything was new and cared for. The bathroom had saloon style doors so it wasn't particuarly private!
The breakfast was pretty standard for Thailand, eggs, fruit and juice but of a good quality. You can sit outside which is lovely in the morning sun. The pool is just what you need at the end of the day, very refreshing however the pictures are deceptive - its about 7m long so you won't get that much of a swim in there!
The location is good in that its a quiet area, it is on the far side of the old town, so a little out the way but its easy to get the van taxis to the main area (about 20baht per person - avoid the tuktuks they are a rip off!) - alternatively it makes an interesting walk in as there is plenty to see on the way. It's easy to get a taxi from the airport, there is standard agreed price from the firms in the arrival hall so no need to hangle.
There is a nice cafe opposite, very chilled and does sandwhiches which is a great alternative if you want a change from the curries and stir frys!

Nice hotel in a quiet area.
Lovely room with comfy beds.

this was our third time in chiang mai, previously we have stayed around tha phae area but saw the good reviews for this hotel and decided to give it a try. everything was perfect, no complaints at all but would still prefer tha phae, having said that its not that far to walk.
Travel tip:
We paid extra for the large room on the top floor, didn't cost too much more but was worth it.

Great hotel, friendly staff
Friendly, nice breakfast, helpful staff and safe.

Rooms were very comfortable, however, if you want the more quiet rooms, request one further from the road. We stayed in T01. It was the closest to the road. Not too noisy but you could hear motor bikes that could wake you in the early hours.
Nice bathrooms. Refreshing swimming pool after a long day.
Although within the walled old city, it is quite a walk to the night market area near the river. The walk is very pleasant though.

Nice bright hotel with clean features
Decent sized very comfortable bedrooms with lovely ensuite facilities
7
comparing this hotel with other hotels in the same category group we found this to be rather expensive. however one of the selling points about this hotel is the bedroom accommodation which has good quality bedlinen and excellent ensuite shower room facilities.
the swimming pool is a bit on the small side and there is virtually no shade around the poolside with room for only two sun beds and a few uncomfortable chairs. also this area is more or less open to the main road which runs in front of the hotel and offers little privacy from passing pedestrians and traffic.
breakfasts were just about okay although given the cost for staying at this hotel we expected something better.
overall we found the staff to be helpful and friendly if a bit disorganised at breakfast time.

Cool oasis with a great breakfast
very quiet for sleeping, great a/c, nice pool, friendly front desk staff

20 Lodge is a peaceful little spot on a small lane in the northwest corner of the Old City. Though it's a hike to the night markets, there are plenty of good restaurants, coffee shops, massage houses, and temples within a few blocks.
I felt safe and well cared for.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do bargain with the tuk tuk drivers!

Lovely rooms and all modern conveniences.
Location inside the old city of Chiang Mai,lovely landscaping, linens and service.

we would definitely stay at the twenty lodge again. it was perfect from beginning to end. inclusion of breakfast was a plus, and rooms were very comfortable and soothing. staff were very attentive and friendly, and the grounds gave the effect of an oasis within a small space. electric kettles are important to me for my tea, and so this is another thoughtful touch in the rooms. i can't think of anything that would have improved it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Have Tea at the Siam Celanese Tea House and buy some gifts to take home. This place is a lovely old teak house with much charm and both inside and outside tables. They have high tea as well as breakfast and sweet treats. It is at 158 Thapae Road Changmoi, Muang, Chiangmai

Small hotel with a great athmosphere
Quiet, beautiful hotel in a great location out of all the noise of night bazaar and bars
7
to start with this hotel is a great shangri la for those couples / families / singles looking for a peaceful and quiet holiday in chiang mai. yet it is only 10 - 15 minutes tuk tuk ride away from main areas such as loi kroh, nimmanheimin and sunday market.
however bad points do exist as well. first there is no proper convenience store within a short walking distance and no bar or restaurant in the premises. this may not be god if you are looking for a drink or late night snack. in addition, if you are a party type do remember that the walls seem to be made of "paper" and hence you may, by accident, disturb neighbours after a big night out.
all and all i would say this is a beautiful satisfactory hotel, but do not expect much of partying anywhere close by.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try Viang Chaokun massage just few minutes away of the hotel. It is so far the best I have found in Chiang Mai, if not in the whole Thailand and prices are extremely reasonable starting from 180 bahts for 1 hours Thai massage.

Lovely quiet spot and helpful staff
great breakfast - both euro and thai; ac much needed and well used
9.3
the setting is very picturesque and serene. the swimming pool is small but just fine for dangling your feet and cooling off. being in the nw corner of the old city, it's a bit of a walk from most of the markets but the location is very quiet so it's really a plus. as a woman traveling alone, i felt very safe at the 20 lodge.

Modern, comfy hotel in a quiet corner of the town
Spacious rooms, great breakfast, tourdesk, quiet place
9
Hotel is modern with great services (pool, good breakfast, free water in the fridge, bathroom amenities) in a quiet part of old Chiang Mai. You need to get a tuk tuk to get into the night market, night life area, but at least you can sleep well at night. Hotel clientele was mainly made of older persons / families, sadly not the place for meeting other younger travellers. We could book trips at the tourdesk and were conviniently picked up in front of the hotel. One male staff member was really nice: he seemed genually interested in our trip and gave good tips, including a lovely tea house next to the river.
