A gardener has decided to open a hotel...
5.3
When you arrive at the hotel, you see a very beautiful garden and lots of nice cottages here and there. then you try to explain to the receptionist that you have a reservation... and here start your problems: no one speaks english.
well, in the end they make you enter the room, and you don't actually understand, why they charge 50 Euro per night for this - there's nothing special. you think, maybe there's a great breakfast waiting for you tomorrow morning, or they will help you to organize a trip to the Doi Inthanon park, or help you hire a motorbike.. But no. None of these happened.
the breakfast was veery poor. in fact only thai people could be satisfied with it, because in the morning they like to eat rice soup and some boiled vegetables. for us there was only rubbish coffee with powder milk, fruits that had no taste, cold eggs, and toasts that you had to make yourself. and nothing around to go have a normal breakfast.
When we asked about motorbike rental, they couldn't suggest anything useful. So we had to walk to the park entrance, and then we unsuccessfully tried to find a ride to the top point, but no one helped us, no one cared.. only taxi for 2000 bath ))
The waitresses in the hotel restaurant were very distracted, they didn't notice us and didn't understand a word in english and every time we struggled to order food from their menu (which didn't have any desserts). Not to mention that everything was very expensive and in the evening you have nothing to do, cos there's no bar.
finally when we were going to leave, we asked them to organize a transfer to the airport (1 day in advance). when it was time to leave, after 20 minutes of waiting we asked where our taxi was... they started to make calls, then said: he's on his way. some more waiting.. then we start to express our feelings about our nice stay. loudly. they panic, then one of the staff members takes us to the airport with his car. luckily, we made it to the plane.
NOT RECOMM
Travel tip:
if you go to the doi inthanon park, try to find an accommodation close to the headquarters. and get a car or a motorbike in advance

Good hotel in peaceful settings

We took the deluxe room which was adequate. We had some mosquitos in the room (hotel has a lot of greenery and is located beside a river), but upon request we were provided with mosquito spray. Our daughter had a pleasant time with the lovely dogs.

Simple but very authentic. For nature lovers
Near the entrance of Doi Ithanon Park (600mts), Unspoiled, familiar, good food, low price.

This place is really simple and unpretencious, whe loved staying here! It was the real North Thailand experience, is not touristic and not expensive.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The best way to visite Doi Ithanon is to rent a car, but you have to rent it in Chiang Mai city.

An average hotel
Just on tip of Doi Inthanon. Surrounding is full nature, staff is good
5.7
This is an average hotel. If you want to stay near Doi Inthanon, then it's fine but other than that, I wasn't really impressed with the standard of room, cleanliness and readiness of the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are few guest houses on mid of doi inthanon, with a cooler atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Wish I would've know about it earlier so I would've gone stayed there instead of this hotel

For overall, it is a good place for Chiang Mai, Thailand to stay near mountain. Easily access to Doi.Intanon. however, the room is quite small and not much facilities.

A nice surprise
Private, individual cottages, lovely sprawling gardens and walk ways, great restaurant, free internet next to the office
9.3
We stayed in two small cottages. Each one was comfortable enough, but the beds are a bit hard. It seems nearly all the beds in Thailand are hard. The cottages are small and basic, but ok. There were some extra foam mats (for kids sleeping on the floor) We put these on our beds for extra comfort. Will stay again if we go to Doi Inthanon again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Going to Doi Inthanon is a MUST-do. Incredible gardens on the highest mountain in Thailand. Lovely views!!

A so-so Resort
Very queit and nice garden.
3.7
It's just like a chalet. The bed is so hard and it's full of mosquitoes. The location isn't great coz it's bottom of Doi Inthanon. I'd to drive another 38km the reach the top. Nothing really impressive about this resort But the reception is very helpful thou. Lousy breakfast with just a few items to choose from. They do not even provide the most basic drink, Orange juice and Milk. Coffee and Ovaltine we need to make ourselves.
Restaurant Tip:
Turn left out of the hotel to Jom Tong about 9km, there is a Restaurant of ISSAN food on the right hand side of the road. It's cheap and yummy thou.

Not very impress with this resort. I'm staying in the Deluxe room but the bed is very hard. Mosquitoes roaming around, the pool is totally worn off. Location isn't great if you were to go up to the top coz it is located only 7km up the hill, so you must drive up and 30 over km to reach the top spot!!!!
