Everything - location, rooms, food, people, hotel design, the little "extras", the big shower. Always lots of big purple fluffy towels in your room and the pool.

Very hard to think of one. I guess the front desk staff could be more knowledeable about where to get this or that or what to do, but this is a common problem in many Thai resorts/hotels. They don't have a lift/elevator, but as long as you are able, it does help get in a bit of exercise as a result.

We stayed in a top floor (3rd) Superior room for 6 nights. It felt like home after 1 day. They have so many extras here, like choosing your own soap, but also an IPOD docking station - with IPOD and 500 songs! Choosing 2 free drinks in the mini-bar on day 1. A great balcony with pillows to chillout in. King bed was super comfortable as were the fluffy pillows. A small, but very enjoyable pool area which they manage so very well. Go here, you will not be disappointed! Definately did not want to leave.

Nightlife Tip : So many - the Sunday night market is literally in front of the hotel, so do stay there on a Sunday night if possible. Must try Kow Soi, the spicy noodle dish from Burma/N Thailand. Was disappointed with the place called "Just Kow Soi" overprice and sterile environment - go to a local joint, far better.

This place is charming, nice, and really great situated. the staff is friendly and helpful. you can eat breakfast everytime, so no need to get up early in the morning. we had a nice room with a private terrasse and our on section of the swimming pool. there is a charming library in the hotel and you can use the internet for free at all times! on sundays you have the sunday market directly in front of the hotel which is one of the nicest markets we saw. we enjoyed our stay a lot!

Great location, staff, and rooms! Very pleasant!

Nothing really- this was our favorite hotel in all of Thailand.

Very friendly staff, great location in the middle of the Sunday market. Classy and affordable. Excellent front desk services for planning day trips. I would come back for certain! Oh and rooms were very nice as well.

Very friendly and helpful staffs... perfect location (very central)... flexable time for breakfast and chek-out time...

Poor view from terrace of the room...

Generally speaking, it's a nice, stylish hotel. Very friendly and helpful staffs, perfect location (very central and close to the night market), flexable time for breakfast and chek-out time... and some interesting details, such as you could choose the soap of your own. Although they don't have a good view from the terrace, I will think about coming back again...

Very clean, friendly service, my request for a room downstairs met, rooms serviced twice daily, plenty of fresh towels and fresh fruit daily.Sad to leave

not any for us

On arrival we were met with very friendly staff, service excellent and our deluxe room just divine. We were originally going to be placed upstairs however requested a room on the ground floor due to a medical condition. Hotel was very quiet in March 2009, around Easter, so we were spoilt by all members of the staff. Would consider staying there again, didn't take long for us to get our bearings.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Managed to see the Elephant camp in Chang Mai, was a fantastic experience, don't miss it, we had a 50 minute ride through the jungle to the Long neck village.........enthralling!

The hotel is really a nice choice in Chiang Mai if you would like to use the city as your base. It's very well kept, the rooms are well designed and the people are very friendly.

The restaurant is the biggest con. The breakfast is no big deal although sufficient I would think. However the narrow shape of the restaurant is not really working for me. They don't really have a menu, so what they do is hold up a board with the same 8 dishes on it everyday. On my last day one person at the reception mentioned that they don't have a menu because the kitchen will do anything you'd like to order. If that's the case, good luck trying to convey that to the server. Anybody except the people at the reception, speak very poor English and have even problems understanding basic phrases. It's more of a hassle, so you'd be better off to take a Tuk Tuk to the Shangri-La or Ginger Kafe (which is a great place, decorated in a contemporary French style with floral wallpaper and great lounge chairs inside. They also have a restaurant on the opposite site and a shop selling unique jewelery, clothes and interior design items.

The hotel was good enough for what it was: A boutique design hotel. It was set in a good location if you're interested in exploring the city. However, I would probably take advantage staying at the countryside somewhere and using that as a base as the city gets very hot and is also quite polluted, so it's much nicer in the mountains or countryside. The internet hardly works. Restaurant: Needs improvement.

24 hours check in, location, 24 hour breakfast, shower, design

not much, the pool was a bit cold, quality of food is good, but could be great, aircon was a bit noisy, but a minor thing

This is a great place in the heart of town. Great Location, great design, friendly staff. I love the 24 hour check in and breakfast policy. How many times I had to get up at 9.30 am on holidays just to make sure not to miss breakfast. The similar thing could be said for check in. Arriving 9 am from airport.. YES, at the U the room is ready for you, as long you check out the next day before 9 am. I love the place and would recommend it.

Travel tip : Everything right there or in near distance.

Location, design of the rooms and pool

Currently next to construction, mosquitoes

I liked the hotel a lot. They performed exactly as they promised and met all my requests graciously. It isn't a cheap hotel and the construction next door were drawbacks. The sunday market that runs right outside is a blessing and a course. It is much less touristy than the night market next to the river but it means huge crowds (seriously packed) until pretty late at night. Upside is the street food (cheap and tasty) and getting stuff at a huge bargain - locals frequent the market so price is same-same. Look for local handicraft with a modern twist - bought paper cards with decoration (10 for 100 Baht). The soap flowers were more expensive than I remember so I gave it a skip. The breakfast anywhere in the hotel is true. The low tables means it is best to eat at the restaurant although the lobby is a good second choice. Best thing about the hotel - having a cool morning breeze waft through the room while padding around on cool floor and chilling to 80s music on the iPod. Only thing I want - a higher thread count on the bed sheets but I'm probably just being greedy.

Travel tip : Stay for the sunday market, eat at the neighboring hotels

Great design and good location in the old city. Great breakfast and very nice staff.

The pool could use a bit of heat. Much of the staff has difficulty with English beyond very simple phrases.

This hotel is beautifully designed and laid out. My room was very comfortable not too small, not imposingly large. The bathroom is really relaxing, fantastic shower. Great breakfast (very good coffee, something I was not expecting in Thailand at all). Very warm and friendly staff always willing to help. I liked the location of the hotel in the old city. There is a fantastic temple across the street, one of the oldest in Chiang Mai.

Shopping Tip : Much of the silk stuff at the night market is actually from China; be wary.

Cozy boutique hotel. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Small details like pillow and soap options, ipod dock...

Limited breakfast and breakfast options. Extremely overpriced spa. Ultra petite swimming pool (more like over sized bathtub). Less than ideal location.

A very pleasant hotel with only 40 rooms that has not been stingy with staff. The staff here is very friendly, helpful, and speak excellent English. The hotel is very cozy and well decorated with a modern Thai feel. We had an excellent stay and loved the hotel. The few cons listed however mean that I cannot recommend more than 5-6000 baht per night during the peak season (eg New Years). Unfortunately we paid a little more...

Nice location, friendly staff, good meals. I particularly liked the bike i could borrow.

As others mentioned, too sharp edge for bed stand... also, no elevators for 3rd floor was a little pain where you get to the hotel tired.

Overall, it was nice to stay there. Location, meals, staff, rooms were great. I borrowed a bike to go around the city, and it was a pleasant short trip. Suggestions from staff was kind and accurate, too. People might not like no elevator, no bath tub, but other than that, i think decent travelers enjoy the stay. thanks for the great hospitality!

Restaurant Tip : Nice little cafe just in front of the hotel.

location New- fresh Breakfast anytime, anywhere, good selection Bikes on loan from hotel Very helpful & friendly staff Great place for couples

only thing i could fault was the bed corners being too sharp.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights- it was very comfortable and our stay was very pleasant. In fact, we barely left the hotel during the day. Throughly enjoyed ourselves there, the hotel is well equipped, with free WI-FI, is beautifully decorated with some lovely touches such as the reading room, and being able to have breakfast anytime, anywhere!..The location is also great for exploring the old city on foot, with bikes on loan from the hotel. Its a lovely place for a romantic break, even though its close to the road it was quiet enough. I'd be happy to recommend to friends- Big thumbs up from us!!

On every Sunday, a streetmarket is at your first ladder.

When asked for the direction in the map, some staff were not familiar with the street map. No private parking area.

A good mixture between Chiang-Mai style with comtemporary facility. They can use all area with maximum utility. The location is really good. Their service mindedness is excellent. You can get an Ipod in your room. Breakfast can serve at anywhere anytime even in your room without extra charge. On Sunday evening they provide many good activities for a complimentary. Their spa is fantastic.
