I booked the Vista hotel via Agoda, the hotel was less than what I expected when I saw on the website. I requested for airport pick up and also called and got a confirmation from the hotel at the same day we arrived in afternoon, I was very disappointed when we arrived nobody came to pick up us I asked a reception regarding the issue he just said it must have misunderstood and said sorry. The room was small with funny smell. Bathroom looked very old and sink was blocked at day, but luckily it was fixed next day. Breakfast was poor, there were 2 choices standard American breakfast like bread and jam, fried egg and hot dog..and Thai rice soup. The breakfast time was 6:30 to 10:00, one day I was at 9:40 I was told that the kitchen closed because time was up. However staff was friendly and good location to stay it was in old city and close to many nice temples you can walk to walking street and Sunday evening market.

Horrible! Don't stay here!

Decent location at the North end of the Old City

This place was terrible. You could pay much less for a room of the same quality. The bed felt like a bag of springs covered with a sheet. The showerhead was at chest level. The sink did not drain. There was almost no lighting, so the room was very dark at night. Also note that the pictures posted are of the newer/redecorated rooms - ours looked like Barbie's nightmare with 3 different kinds of old pink patterned wallpaper. Rooms were understandably old, but not really well maintained and somewhat dingy. The wifi was often out, the signal very weak and unstable when it was working. The hotel staff were not very helpful and tried to nickel and dime you for everything - 12 baht/min for a local call, 100 baht per person to go to the airport, etc... The breakfast is AWFUL. There are eggs, sausages, ham, and one hot dish per day, such as fried rice. However, the food sits outside for hours and is completely cold. We ate toast the whole time. No milk for the coffee. Daily single fruit was unappetizing and not regularly refilled. Luckily you won't spend much time in the room since there is so much to do in Chiang Mai, but coming back to this place each evening is DEPRESSING. Located at the North end of the Old City, it's about 1 km from the Old City center and Sunday Market, and 3 km from the Night market, so at the very least it's within walking distance.

room a bit small but ok. easy walk to the east side of the old city, where most things happen. particularly the sunday market. no bum washer provided, just as i got used to using them. better option than the dreadful sira, which is nearby
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Be here Sunday night for the market.

Charming traditional Thai hotel

Old building beautifully restored and refinished, clean and comfortable.

the breakfast was good, the hotel is lovely, nicely furnished with many traditional thai furnishings. located very conveniently in the old city. walking distance to many temples and several markets.
Shopping Tip: The best market is the night market.

Gracious traditional classic Thai lodging.

Built in 1893 as part of the kings property, this hotel is beautifully modernized and maintained. Service is excellent and improved through our stay. The room was huge, king sized bed and plenty of storage. Only a few staff spoke English but it was never a problem. The lovely art work around the hotel, several comfortable seating areas and indoor and outdoor dining was very enjoyable.

We happily drank the four water bottles in the frig and later discovered only two were free! Very reasonable cost and very convenient. The hotel laundry is charged by the piece but there are private laundries nearby. Very convenient location in the old city, we walked everywhere.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: The spa around the corner was excellent! The name is Fah Lanna Spa on Weng Kien? St.

Just OK

The location was great for walking around.

Loved the fact I could walk to the central parts of the old city and the Sunday night market. Very convenient. The breakfast was rather sad for the price I was paying, they could have done something a little interesting besides jook or fried eggs. Wifi only worked in the lobby and not the rooms. My shower had no hot water and I had to shower down the hall. The front desk staff told me the place was sold out when I requested a smaller room, when it was clear there was hardly anyone staying there at all. Finally a cheaper room magically appeared when I pressed them and threatened to go to another hotel. Stairs are of an inordinately steep and high angle as if the architect did not know what standard steps are. I got a lot of exercise going up and down to the third floor. Most of the staff does not speak English which can be a problem when problems arise.
Nightlife Tip: Don't miss the Sunday night market just a few blocks away every Sunday evening starting at 6 PM

Quiet hotel inside the old city of Chiang Mai

With their own vehicle available for airport delivery and pickup for 100Baht

I actually don't need to wait until the van is being full to start. I should have called them to pick me up when I arrive. The airport is just 15 mins away. I have an extra hour in the airport so that I can visit the massage shop in the 2/F.

Quiet hotel, with very friendly staff

Quiet, spacious rooms

the staff were were friendly and accommodating. the location is near the north gate. ratchadamoen gate is about 25 mins walk. my only gripe would be the limited breakfast - although it was ok for me.
Hotel Feature Tip: Hotel reception can help you rent a motorbike.

Good location with quiet surrounding

One of few hotels equipped king size bed in old town of Chiangmai.

The hotel is next to Thai Airways building and 6 minutes walk to Sunday walking street(Sunday night market); Many sightseeing spots are within walking distance. Bicycle rental shop in back street. Very quiet surrounding and good security measurement. Hotel room space is good but insufficient toilet paper provided. Room was not vacuumed everyday. Breakfast is ok and buffet style breakfast provided when big size group accommendated. Friendly staff and free wifi with proper bandwidth.
Restaurant Tip: Thai Nana, an outstanding Thai restaurant must try with 10 minutes walking; delicious dishes averaged 40-60 Baht and quality dining environment with no service charge added. Jimmy, the owner and chef, is capable for English speaking. A Thai desert/snack shop(only Thai name) near Thai Nana is another must buy; delicate products is unforgetable. Don't miss both!
