Great place! The manager periodically checks in with the guests and makes sure everything is going well. The elephant program is a must do and if you are already up there its worth the extra cost for a once in a life time experience. The food is super expensive compared to everywhere else in Thailand but you don't really have any other choices in the area.
amazing customer service, great organization, excellent food, one of the best pools I've ever been in.
everything extra is expensive
- Hotel Feature Tip : do the elephant training in the afternoon!
I want to go to here once again.

We stayed at the Anantara for four nights, and had a wonderful time! Service was first class; food was amazing. Although a little out of the way, there were enough to keep us occupied - day trips to Myanmar and Laos, cycling, elephant camps, or just lounging by the pool. Mike, the hotel manager, runs a great hotel!
In one word: fabulous

People who like serene and tranquil places, or a romantic hideaway, or just want to unwind for a few days after Bbangkok: this is the place. Not for party people! Quite far from Chiang Rai, and certainly from Chiang Mai, but on the Golden Triangle, so you can visit Laos and Burma.
Great surroundings, peaceful hotel

Not too far from Golden Triangle but not too easy to get a taxi
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit the Opium Museum accross the street (the hotel provides free tickets): very interesting!
