Unpretentious low-oost hotel, conveniently situated for the boats to/from Yunnan. Staff were cordial, and the room was clean and comfortable although a little spartan.
Food in restaurant was expensive, for what was on offer. The breakfast was what was leftover after two tour groups had dined at about 7.00am.
This hotel was better suited for a one-night stay than as a base for lengthier exploration of the area. The restaurant was set up for tour groups rather than individual travellers, and we always felt as though we were an accessory to their main business, rather than being valued as customers. The reception staff were an honourary exception to this, and were very helpful and friendly.
Hotel Feature Tip : Beat the coach parties to breakfast, if you can!

not very well placed, old, simple, room too small for three
On the site you would think the hotel is right on the golden triangle. It is 6 kil and not along the Mekong. Rudimentary comfort.
Hotel Feature Tip : In all cases in 2009, the hotels are almost empty and it would be better not to book and choose their hotel on the spot by negotiating the price
