Clean rooms, good beds, free wifi in the lobby
We were on on way to Laos and hotel provided cheap airport service for 1200 THB and transport to Chiang Kong, 1 Hour driving also for 1200THB from where you start your trip to Laos. The satays were excellently flavored and the breakfast was so-so but ok. I can definitely recommend this place as it is quality for budget and conveniently located to explore the Mekong and surroundings.
Travel tip : Try the satays.

Quiet location, nice rooms
A bit out of the way, but not a problem in a city this size
At first, we had a difficult time finding the hotel, but once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel. It was extremely clean with efficient staff. The rooms were delightful and the bathrooms were quite nice. There isn't a lot to do in Chiang Saen, but the riverfront is beautiful and it was a nice quiet stopover enroute to the Golden Triangle.

Unpretentious low-oost hotel, conveniently situated for the boats to/from Yunnan. Staff were cordial, and the room was clean and comfortable although a little spartan.
Food in restaurant was expensive, for what was on offer. The breakfast was what was leftover after two tour groups had dined at about 7.00am.
This hotel was better suited for a one-night stay than as a base for lengthier exploration of the area. The restaurant was set up for tour groups rather than individual travellers, and we always felt as though we were an accessory to their main business, rather than being valued as customers. The reception staff were an honourary exception to this, and were very helpful and friendly.
Hotel Feature Tip : Beat the coach parties to breakfast, if you can!
