A truely Grand Hotel in every way.
We enjoyed walking in the hotel gardens / layout of the bedrioom / and the quality of the restaurants
10
We counted ourselves very privileged to be staying in this hotel. From the moment we crossed the bridge to the island on which the hotel stands we were impressed. The bridgemans welcome, the parking attendant's kindness in covering our car at night to protect it from the dew, the efficency of all the
hotel staff, our room for it's size and comfort.
Chang Mai may be number one in all sorts of ways but the Dusit Island Hotel makes Chang Rai well worth a visit.

old but solid
Great atmosphere in the huge lobby
7.7
This hotel is an older hotel in Lana - style. The rooms are normal size and good linen. As in most Thai hotels the housekeeping is very poor so the furniture was full of dust. The lobby is huge and great to sit. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Nice swimmingpool and the location of the hotel is very silent and peacefull.

Old but Upgrade - lovely grounds
Large rooms, beautiful environment

Liked this hotel alot. Good facilities and a nice spacious environmnent. Breakfast is excellent as well. Generally the staff were good and attentive. Quite an old hotel but has been upgraded recently - renovated anyway. Powerful shower and clean.
Definetly a good option in Chang Rai
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The new White Temple is a good visit.
The elephant visit - seems they are not kept very well and is a bit sad. Sure a few of them are going a bit mad.

Island Away from City
Great Pool, beautiful grounds
6.7
i was disappointed that the phone system was dated and i was not able to use my calling cards. they pipe unwanted music into the rooms and halls from 6:00am to 10:00pm. doors and fixtures and furniture is dated. also, you have to plan your exit from the grounds, or walk 25 minutes to town. there are no standing cabs or tuk tuks.
the lobby is spacious and the pool is quite beautiful. the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Location, view on river, pool

This hotel is located along the Kok river, with beautiful views. Hotel facilities need a refresh as quite outdated. Staff are very kind.

Great hotel, very clean and comfortable
within walking distance to nigh market and shopping or a short tuk tuk ride
7.3
our stay was short but good, our one room was obviously a smoking room so a bit of an odour. the food was good and staff very friendly, the breakfast buffet was good we did not eat at the evening one, but also looked good. the pool area is also very nice, we toured all dy so never had the chance to use the area.

Beautiful pool area, lovely gardens
8
we've stayed here about 3 times, it is sometimes a little crowded as it was during this particular weekend. there is a good restaurant called the peak on an upper floor. nice pool area, small pools attached for small children. swim up bar for drinks and food. rooms are a little tired, but very comfortable. the surroundings are beautiful. large buffet breakfast, good choices.
Shopping Tip:
Night bazaar is a must. If you have time, take a day trip to the border town of Mae Sai, 1 hour away, lots of good shopping and you can cross the border to Myanmar and shop there also. Border fee is 500 Baht for Myanmar.
