Beautiful swimming pool. Nice staff except for those meeting cars upon arrival.
No assistance with unloading the luggage upon arrival.
Restaurant was terrible.
Overpriced for a very small room.
We have stayed at this resort twice before and loved it. Perhaps it is due to the recession but I will never stay at this hotel again - ever!
We pulled up, and my wife and I were unloading the luggage and our baby while the staff outside that was suppose to help kept talking and joking among themselves. There were no other people arriving at the time. All of the bell staff were available and apparently having a great time.
Dinner at the restaurant was horrible - salmon steak served after being reheated in the foil wrap for me to open.
The breakfast buffet was mediocre. Even the coffee was cold and the cream was curdled.
Lastly, the room was much smaller for a higher cost than we had the last two times. All in all, this was a total disappointment. NEVER AGAIN!

Spending Loykratung at Dusit was a very lucky desition. The view from our room was absolutly fantastic. I can not imagine a better place to see the thousands of small floating boats. Even if the hotel is a little bit outside the city-center, it is an enjoyable ride with the bicycletaxi.

chiang Rai is a small city and the hotel is located in a small island in the city border "around 10/15 min from center"
the hotle is quite old and i didn't see a lot of tourist (maybe because it was off season "1st week of OCT")
Some visitor will love this hotel and some will not ,but i think no one will regret his stay in it .
IT IS OK not Excellent

Beautiful landscape and scenery.
Good maintenance even in low season.
Ideal place to relax.
Far from downtown.
No minimart nearby.
Not recommended for travelers who have no car.
I chose Dusit Island to stay during my 2-day trip to Chiangrai in September. It was in low season. Hotel service and front welcome was nice plus two complimentary drinks. Room was OK, but the door of restroom could not be locked! It was out of function. Room condition was OK though this hotel was quite old. My mom asked for some more complimentary water bottles and she got them free. Cleaning was OK. No bus or taxi nearby, but there were tricycles. I recommended this hotel for those who want to stay in quiet place to relax.

It is a bit far from most things. You will need a car to easily enjoy the sites. Go see the "white" temple.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : River trip right by the hotel. Worth the money.

For those who worry - we experienced no mosquitos during january (but maybe because of the winter time?). So the River expericence is very positive!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A longtail boat rafting from Thaton to Chiang Rai is a recommended half day trip. Start at noon in Thaton and stop on the way for the nice Elephant farm on the bank of the Mae Kok River.

For the price, the hotel was pretty good. Very good view from the room.
So far a little bit inconvenient location. High rates.
淋SHII have a little place, in a sense is a good taste of Chiang Rai hotels. The room is nice to see the natural scenery and many rivers.
Restaurant Tip : Night Bazaar in Chiang Rai is a lot of other small and cheap to get. In addition, village stalls (food court) with a lot of things cheap and delicious, but better than a bad restaurant.
