The rooms were a little dark.
The swimming pool is excellent, spacious, surrounded by greenery and with lots of sunbeds. The rooms were very ordinary, motel like rooms with tinted windows that let very little light in. I was also disappointed with the channels available on the television. You really need to hire a car if you stay here. A reasonable base to explore the surrounding scenery.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Great coyote bar opposite the hotel!

Comfortable room with huge comfy bed. beautiful gardens all around. An excellent swimming pool. The breakfast is also excellent.
If you do not have a vehicle it is a walk into town but not too far.
We visited this hotel for the second time in two years and it has added a fine restaurant and the breakfast is now excellent, much better than before.

A very nice place located within walking distance of the town centre. The hotel has villas that are nicely spread out and has a good pool. Could do with more loungers though!
They have a nice breakfast with lots of choice.
The bathroom is nice but has a gap where the vent is so mosquitoes can get in and there are many in Chiang rai.
There is a bar and restaurant onsite as well.
Hotel Feature Tip : Bring Mosquito stuff

Spacious, well-appointed room.
Attractive garden setting.
Good, varied breakfast buffet.
Food and service at evening meal in restaurant were adequate, but disappointing.
The online rate we got for bed and breakfast was very good value. Our room was pleasant and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was further from the city centre than we expected from the online description we read, but not so far as to be a major inconvenience. We enjoyed our short stay here.

good location. good for traveling with young children. good breakfast.
front desk staff were not very helpful. the travel desk is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive. room facility are a bit old.
when traveling with young children, this would be a good hotel to stay because of the swimming pool and distance to the night bazaar. But the downer is that the hotel staff refused to break my 1000THB note into smaller changes. And they were not very helpful with booking tours for me. Luckily I found a good travel agency at the night market and save a "huge bunch" on local tours.
Travel tip : Do not book your tours at the hotel. Walk around the night market and save big.

The ficility is pretty new. Three years old I believe. Quiet...
Mosquitos. It's not really close to anything.
Mosquitos come to mind first when I think of my stay at the Laluna. This facility is only 3 years old, and the grounds are immaculate. But the place is infested with mosquitos. Perhaps one reason could be they leave the door and windows open to the empty units. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special. They didn't have a cook standing by to prepare your eggs the way you might want them. Also for diebetics there is no Sugar Substitute for your coffee. The staff was pleasant and presented no problems. The internet is available at 50B an hour. It is however out in the open lobby, with the mosquitos. Often hard to see the monitor because you are looking into brighter daylight. They have a restuarant open 24 hours; but we didn't use it, so I have no opinion of that. We did find a nice little restuarant about 1/4 mile walk down the road with karaoke. Good food, and fair prices. So take your repellent and sugar substitute and have a good relaxing time.
All in all I'd give this place a total of 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

The staff and the "jungle" environment with the cottages
Just a bit outside city center but yet close enough for walking there. The nearby old airstrip can give you a very nice morning walk.
In the lobby you can relax, and do your work in private. The restaurant have a wide selection on the menu. I tried some of the salads and they were delicious.
The front desk can assist you in renting a car or scooter. You have your own spacious cottage in the "jungle". Very nice pool area. Just a little bit cold in the water though.

The hotel is in a quiet location. The staff are lovely and friendly. The room is clean and is of a good sized. The bathroom is superb. The breakfast is much better than I expected and has a vast range of foods. Nice swimming pool.
Not many power points in the room. Hotel is about 15 minutes from airport and be expected to pay 300 Baht for transfer (one-way). Although, minimum rate is 200 Baht from airport (downtown)!
The hotel is great value for money. We had a nice, relaxing time. A very nice breakfast and the staff are pleasant. Within 2 kms walking distance to town. There is a 24 hr restaurant and vehicles out the front to go anywhere.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you go to the White Temple and Wat Phra Kaew. Beautiful temples and craftmanship.

Price affordable, staff are nice and polite, Restaurant is good
Traffic problem - not easy to find a tuktuk or taxi
It is suitable for the travellers who would like to have a relax holiday, because traffic is a problem to this resort. We could not easily find a tuktuk and it is not near the bus station (night bazzaar). If travellers consider traffic so much, it's not suitable for them.
Hotel Restaurant is good and price is affordable. Comparing restaurant outside, it is just 5-10% more except dessert and drink.

Great staff, very helpful and quick to assist. Location was great, very close to everything. Clean rooms, great water pressure in the shower and plenty of clean towels. Nice big pool to relax and watch the sun set.
Extremely rock hard bed. This made the entire stay painful. We woke with sore hips and backs every day. Some noise could be heard from a nearby night club, but this stopped usually at 1 am.
Laluna Hotel and Resort is a beautiful resort with manicured gardens, large pool and attentive staff. Rooms were large and clean, with the only draw back being the rock hard beds. These were so hard that every morning we would wake with sore hips and backs. Location was great, with a 10 minute walk to the night market and the 'tourist strip'. Breakfast was great with many options available for vegetarians. Laluna has a note on the back of each rooms door that no outside food or drinks can be brought in. We brought both food and drinks in and never had a problem. The 'included mini-bar' in the superior suit contains 3 soft drinks, a pack of chocolate biscuits, 2 bottles of water and a pack of crispy green peas. Not really worth the extra few dollars, but was a nice change from having to go and by everything. Easy to get around town by foot or Tuk Tuk. All in all, a great place.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you want an enjoyable sight seeing trek, go to J Travel Service (595/1 Phaholyothin Rd, Muang, Chiang Rai) they have great non-touristic trips with very knowledgeable and friendly guides.

Great hotel slightly out of town. Very well appointed. Beautiful Gardens.Good breakfast. Excellent staff.
Out of town but a short tuk tuk ride into the city. Room walls thin so you can hear neighbours.
La Luna is a lovely oasis in a city. The gardens and pool are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms very clean and have shampoo etc. supplied. Robes and slippers are also supplied. Breakfast was varied and fresh. The staff at reception were very helpful. In particular one boy who organised our trip to the golden triangle and the white temple. Nothing was too much trouble. Internet facilities were in the lobby area. The adjoining restaurant served mid priced Thai food with happy hour drinks. Would stay there again if in Chiang Rai.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ask at reception and they will ring a driver to take you to the Golden Triangle and a couple of other places. Much better than a tour. The driver waits and you can take your time at places. The white temple is a must - freaky!

Beautiful setting, good location
Oh to have stayed longer! Laluna was very relaxing, quiet and beautiful. The hotel appeared to be quite new and is set out as bungalows around delightful gardens and a very pleasant pool area. It is an ok ten to fifteen minute walk into the centre of town / night market. Would definitely stay here again. Only problem is the extremely hard beds (like sleeping on the base of an inner spring ensemble)

Beautiful location.
Large rooms.
Clean.
Friendly staff.
Room could use some more drawer space. What couldn't be hung in the closet had to remain in my suitcase or be stacked on a night table.
This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious. The rooms are clean. The staff is friendly and courteous and responded to any requested promptly. The restaurant on the hotel site is clean and the prices are reasonable. The hotel lobby is designed beautifully and accents the tropical beauty of the location.
Over all, this is a hotel to which I would readily return.
