Agoda was very helpful. We had made a reservation for the wrong night and they fixed it for us without any problem. Very good customer service!!
- Travel tip : Night market was okay.

Chiang Rai has much to offer visitors, I think even more than Chiang Mai. Don't miss the White Temple along with the Golden Triangle and other well known attractions.
- Travel tip : Interested in touring? Head to the bus station and hire a tuk tuk for the day, map out your own itinerary and save thousands of baht!

From airport it costs 300 baht to hotel. No negotiating. I prefer Chiang Rai over Chiang Mai as has more attractions (Golden Triangle, White Temple) and is more laid back...and cooler in the evening!!

Great base to do the Golden Triangle from. Found the night market here a lot better than Chiang Mai.

We will surely visit here another time.
- Restaurant Tip : Go to the same road back to the center distance and turn right after the third traffic lights. There will be many excellent local lunch and dinner places with very nice prices.

Chiang Rai in general had the best night market we were able to see in all of Thailand. The food was great, especially in Da Vinci's and Ayo's which had decent western food. After being in Thailand for three weeks, it was nice to get pizza or a steak and baked potato. Honestly, if you like the boutique style hotel with some aspects of the business hotel, this place is for you.
- Shopping Tip : The night market is worth the trip. We also went to the Hill Tribe Museum which was quite educational. The exhibit has some interesting information about the opium trade in Northern Thailand and how the Hill Tribes are now growing legal crops instead. It is worth the trip and will help you make shopping decisions while in Thailand.
