Centrally located with easy access to the night markrt and city center. There are Tuk Tuks waiting at the hotel
Recomend that one does not eat at the hotel, very expensive, go to the city and enjoy the food at the night bazaar,
The hotel is a good place to stay, the garden is wonderful and the pool is refreshing. The rooms, bungalows are comfortable and has all the comforts.

Quiet, relaxed location in lush surroundings, and still only a 15-minute walk from the center of town.
We wanted a quiet location, within walking distance (or a short tuc-tuc ride) to the city center). The Laluna was a perfect choice. It is set well off the main road. The rows of rooms are half hidden behind lush and well-maintained vegetation, and the pool is delightful. The room was dark but this was not a problem for us and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfasts were varied and it was a pleasure to eat on the outdoor terrace. We did not take any other meals at the hotel. Some tour groups use the hotel but they arrive late and leave early and you never see them. An excellent value for the money. We would definitely stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Want to try something new? How about an ostrich ride? Nobody in town seems to know about the Wana Ostrich Farm but it is located only about 12 kilometers south of town on road 1020. You can check out their web site. Any tuc-tuc driver can take you there and back. You can hop on an ostrich (and try to stay on) for a run around the ring. For the kids, there are poney rides.

I love the landscape, the garden and resort style room. The room is spacious and tasteful interior design.
The room need to have more light
We stayed 2 nights at Laluna resort and I love the atmostphere of the beautiful garden. It makes you feel so relax. The room is spacious and beautiful decoration. Breakfast is excellent and also the location is quite convenience.
Travel tip : We had drinks at the hotel bar and massage.

The pool is absolutely beautiful and was nearly always deserted -- we loved it
Dark rooms (tinted windows) and too much nickel-and-diming of guests
The rooms were adequate, I would say. Very clean, average size, bathrooms were actually really nice. Tinted windows give the rooms a dark feeling that we didn't love. The hotel is a good 30-minute walk to the centre of town and night bazaar, which is a mixed blessing; it's nice to be removed from the action at a little oasis, but it leaves you having to walk or hire a tuk tuk several times a day for meals. (There is a restaurant on site but it is wildly overpriced and if the free buffet breakfast is any indication, not very good either.) Breakfast buffet is lacklustre compared to similar hotels we've stayed at. The biggest annoyance is the nickel-and-diming. An extra bed is a whopping $35. We had a 6-year-old with us and had to pay $5 for his breakfast. Computers with internet in the lobby are $2 an hour. You're not supposed to bring in "outside food" (which made us wonder what the big refrigerator was meant to store, since it certainly was not stocked with anything). Overall we enjoyed our stay, though.

Very clean rooms, friendly staff, more than adequate breakfast
Could use more stand for luggage, hard to access suitcases on the floor.
Stayed once again at La Luna, my regular hotel in Chiang Rai. The cabin type rooms are spotklessly clean, the staff is friendly but not overly familiar.
The breakfast (included with room ) is more than adequate, besides the normal eggs (both fried and omeleys) there are the usual Thai dishes, however baked beans and baked tomatoes are also on the line. A treat I selom see in Thailand.
The hotel is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the night market or a 50 Baht tuk-tuk ride. Dur\ing thsi stay ythey were offering 10% off on fodd and beverage, so one dlicious evening meal was eaten on the premises.
This frequent vivitor to Thailand will continue to stay at the La Luna Hotel and Resort.
Restaurant Tip : Excellent, inexpensive Thai restaurant about 250 meters from the hotel, on the same side of the street toward city center.

Price, staff, grounds, room, pool, and food.
We stayed at La Luna for 4 nights last week in Chiang Rai. I have nothing negative to say. The room was clean, comfortable, large, and had a great bathroom. The pool is fabulous and the restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was very good and has cuisine to suit any taste. The staff was always helpful and courteous. Most had decent english speaking skills. It is is an odd kind of neighborhood that is a real mix of cultures but getting around is easy with private transport. The old, closed airport is nearby and good for jogging.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Right across the street from the hotel entrance is a small Thai family restaurant and store. The store is quite well stocked and the restaurant is run by a gentleman named Kuhn Pon. He is an excellent and very knowledgeable guide, we used him every day. His english skills are marginal but he can help you with everything.

Pool had no lights, and rooms are a bit darker and dingy looking
I think for the cost, it's a very good deal. It's out of the main part of the city a bit, but not so much so that I couldn't walk to the main part. Around Laluna was a number of other hotels to stay at, but Laluna was definitely the nicest. The grounds is nice, it has a really nice resort-sized pool and the lobby is beautiful. The rooms were sparse but clean, but for the money, seriously you can't beat this place (especially if you have a large family). The one thing is, the pool doesn't have lights, or they said it was broken, though I didn't see lights in the pool at all. I swam in the dark, but it would have been really amazing at night.
Hotel Feature Tip : wireless works in your room if you are within the first 4 or 5 rooms from the lobby.

Location is a bit removed from downtown center
This was a nice hotel, or rather kind of like a resort. The rooms are actually small bungalow style buildings, which are nice and cute. The only thing I didn't like about them was that there is only one window, which faces the walkway and therefore compels one to keep the curtains closed. So it feels a bit dark in the room. But overall, nicely maintained grounds and nice place.
Hotel Feature Tip : Free wifi use in the lobby. Breakfast buffet is pretty good - worth getting the breakfast.

Far away from the city centre
ChiangRai is a boring city . No vehicles except the airport taxi take tourists to the city . And 200THB about 5KM to the bus station 1 , 300THB to
the hotel more expensive than in Bongkok .It was menopoly by the government and they said you can go on foot!(shit!)The great virescence make the hotel like a garden.Little dining & entertainment venues around

Beautiful landscaping, nice pool, clean rooms, excellent buffet breakfast
neighbours behind our room had a yappy dog that wouldn't stop barking
Very nice accommodation, but bring ear plugs or ask for room in the centre, away from adjoining properties.

Inexpensive. Good location. Pleasant staff. Great pool.
The food at the restaurant might be the most expensive food in Thailand. Go once and enjoy the humor.
This is a pleasant place. Large rooms. Each unit has only one set of electric plus which is inconvenient. We took a tour of Doi Tung and the Golden Triangle area with the tour operator at the hotel, Miss Keawpa. It was a pleasant experience and reasonable in price. Bring alot of money if you plan to eat at the restaurant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Good tour operator ...Miss Keawpa.

Clean, quiet, very nice pool
Far from the main part of the city
The resort was very nice with beautiful surrounds & the pool was big & clean. The staff were friendly & helpful as much as possible. The rooms were clean & nice. The only downside was that the resort was situated to far to walk to the main shopping area in the town.Overall a nice place & competive price, but probably wouldn't stay there again because of the location.
Restaurant Tip : restaurant across the road had good food & cheap

.The size of the bed is enormous
.Pool area is relaxing
.Great location
.Chair to sit on outside your room to admire the beautiful garden.
The hotel is fantastic. It is peaceful and in a great location. Eat at the restaurant across the road to the right, it is as cheap as chips. The bed is not only enormous but incredibly comfortable. I loved this hotel and can not fault it. It is amazing value for money. You felt as though you were the only person in the entire complex.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can hire a scooter from up the road for 150 bht a day and go where-ever you like. We took a tour to the golden triangle for the day (dont book through the hotel way to expensive, go down to the main street, near the night bizarre).

Wonderful service, nice people, reliable free Wi-Fi in the lobby, beautiful garden
Dark rooms with noisy aircon
I wanted to like this place, but the rooms are just not cozy. They have big picture windows that look out into the walkway, so the only light you get comes with the stares of people walking by. There are mosquitoes but no screens, so you have to close the windows when it gets dark. And the aircon is so noisy, I had trouble sleeping.
Restaurant Tip : The restaurant here is lovely, with the cutest Koi I've ever seen. The food was pretty good.
