Solo travelers United States of America, January 27, 2013	Beautiful environment with cheap price Beautiful environment 7.7 The hotel is hard to find because route 1511 on google doesn't existed in the real life. Find the "beautiful optical" shop after Chiang Rai Airport intersection on route 1. Turn left before "beautiful optical" shop and go all the way about 8 kms. Attention all the small signs along the road. Make a right turn before you arrive water fall however it is hard to find in the dark. The rooms are a little bit smaller than expected however the views are great. Eat dinner at the hotel restaurant because of the great views. Very peaceful and cool there. Travel tip: Need your own transportation.
Omar O. Couples United Kingdom, October 18, 2012	Comfortable Place & AMAZING Views!! View, Staff, Atmosphere and comfort. 9.3 We booked our stay through Agoda and were not disappointed. To stay here you really need some kind of transport as we hired a car from Chiang Rai airport and it is a bit out the way but not overly far from the Airport. We got lost a few times but in total its about 20 minutes drive from the airport, located on the side of a hill. When we arrived, it felt like a really nice atmosphere and you can feel the fresh air especially up the side of a really steep hill. Parking was no problem and the same for checking in. We were alone in the resort when we arrived and for the majority of our two night stay and that was fine with us, its the kind of resort which is chilled and relaxing and its exactly what we were after. Gotta say when we walked into our superior room...WOW!! The room itself is nice with a 4 poster bed and mosq nets..then you walk onto the balcony and all i can say is its breathtaking looking at the view!! Green hills, trees and a beautiful view! like another review stated if you havent got time to stay up the side of a mountain its defo the next best thing. The bathroom was also great! as you walk into it you see the shower section has no roof and a small square hole which is great when your having a shower because your room is high up nobody can see in but u can shower looking at the view with the fresh air around (not that you will see many people outside as its in the middle of nowhere) its hard to explain but this place just feels rustic, traditional and thai with a twist that we liked. It also has your usuals such as flat screen tv, fridge, a/c and kettle although we had no time to use any as we were off exploring. We tried the terrace restaurant as well and it was good cooking up original thai dishes and the price was reasonable although if you want to try local food your better off going back down to the main road near the airport and there is a big local food market which serves some yummy dishes. Staff are great, efficient and polite.Overall great!! Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Mae Fah Luang Univeristy is the most beautiful in Thailand and not that far from the hotel, worth driving down into the campus then parking up and walking around, if you like beautiful scenery your in for a treat!
