We loved our experience at this fine resort. We believe it was a fantastic deal by booking it on agoda. The food was exceptional. The pool is huge. We think this is one of the best places we have enjoyed on our trip.

Hotel Feature Tip : Don't miss the huge pool!

Helpful Staff, wonderful pool

Went for our grandson's wedding which was held at the resort. Everything was beautiful. We were there 3 days and enjoyed using the pool. Breakfast was wonderful. Fell in love with the Chinese fried bread. We later joined a tour group and one of the stops was at the Rimkok Resort for an International lunch. A great lunch.

Good looking, nice pool, nice landscape.

Food, location, extra firm mattresses and pillows

Just returned from a 10 day trip in Thailand where we spent 3 nights in Chiang Mai and 3 nights in Chiang Rai. I have to say that Chiang Rai is beautiful. We got the most out of this trip by splitting it in two: first part was self guided in Chiang Mai. Here we ate everything that moved and rented a Honda Click motorcycle to experience for the first time that "Je ne sais quoi" that all my motorcycle owner friends are talking about. Driving it (for the first time in my life) on the Chiang Mai's early morning streets was a pleasure. Driving it during the 4pm rush hour...an adventure. Nevertheless, this way of transportation allowed us to explore the entire city and its vicinity without any concern for schedule and to save money too. A MUST if you would like some adrenaline rush. For Chiang Rai, we chose to stay at the Rimkok Resort and hire the guided recommended by so many on this forum. The hotel is beautiful but way too far away from the city and the only way to get to the night bazaar is by the hotel shuttle. Overall, not worth it. The food was also disappointing at the hotel but we brought our own from the night bazaar. There is nothing like eating sticky rice mango and friend fish with a bottle of champagne at the hotel's restaurant. Just be ready to pay US prices for anything you buy at the hotel. The guide, Jermsak Cei, was GREAT!!! He made out stay in Chiang Rai a five star experience. We contacted him by e-mail and booked him for the entire three days we spent there. The guy is fabulous!!! Flawless english, great sense of humor, and has been guiding people for over 15 years. Sooooo worth it!!! He customized the trips based on our liking and every day surprised us with his story telling ability, his home made lunches and his side trips in addition to what we wanted to see. HE picked us up from the hotel every day by 8:30 am and brought us back around 8pm.

Restaurant Tip : Bring your own food from the night market. You'll save money and enjoy it more.

Very hard beds, the bathroom was a little bit old-fashioned.

We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly as well as the taxidriver. Breakfast was exellent.

Relaxing in a tranquility with Northern Thai atmosphere and by Kok river.

Staff are lack of attention upon inquiry by e-mail both offices ( Bangkok & resort ) Maintenance is required to keep its standardization and long history of this resort.

This resort has been established long time ago and it is considerably one of a good resort in Chiang Rai and its facilities. The resort must be well maintained and will be one of the leading resort to compare with others. Services and staff performance are distinguished as well as service minded to visitors.

Hotel Feature Tip : Need improvement on standard / policy i.e. no delivery of incoming message or fax to room over a day. Need maintenance on particular issue i.e re-painting or touch up in the restaurant and staircases to restaurant.

Huge hotel with nice frontal.

Old, poor location.

It is a old hotel, requested a King bed but gets two singles instead. Location is very isolated, far from everything, doubt will be able to find it without my GPS navigator, not suitable if you do not have own transport. Choice of breakfast is acceptable. Could have been better with the price tag.

This is a gorgeous but affordable hotel. Clean room and great hospitality.

The hotel is located on the other side of Chiang Rai city aka in the middle of nowhere. The hotel charges arms and legs for a 15-min trip to the city each way. You pretty much rely on the hotel shops to buy anything. The hotel shops charge differently between Thai and foreign customers. Great prices for Thais but not for non Thais.

The hotel has a lovely garden surrounding the pool. I don't know if this is the cause of mosquitoes but there is plenty of them there. The hotel proudly presents their grilled fresh water fish but it's not that delicious really.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Day trip is a must as there's nothing else to do here. Try the trip that begins with a speed boat to the elephant village via hill tribe villages. Take a 2-hour elephant ride in the adventurous track. This is a trip you will never forget (provided it's your first elephant ride).

Located at the river. Spacious Hotel. Mostly western customers.

Rooms are only accessible through the outside, like a Motel. Long walks to the rooms. A bit far outside if you don't have a car. Dependent on the hotels restaurant as there is nothing else around it.

What a chaos our stay proofed to be. The hotel management didn't want to honor our voucher and it took 3 days and several phone calls to fix this problem. They had raised prices since our booking and didn't want to honor the voucher. Great service from Agoda to fix the issue with the Hotel. The hotel is getting a bit outdated and there are better choices in the city.

Very helpful staff and good clean hotel with good swimming pool

Hotel a little far from town and you need to taxi everywhere which can get very expensive

Had a really good stay at the hotel. Had a very good swimming pool and friendly staff who where very helpful. Food at the hotel was of a high quality even though a little pricey. The river runs at the back of the hotel with nice views and you can even hire a boat at the back to take you up and down the river sightseeing which was very good.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Try and get a good taxi driver and use all the time and the price comes down as i found it can be very expensive getting around as the hotel is a little way from the town.

Good buffet breakfast, buffet lunch 140 baht. Dinner at night markets worth going in for with a nightly show with Thai dancers (bbq prawns 150 baht for 1/2 dozen). Goods cheaper here than more tourist oriented areas of Thailand such as Bangkok and Pattaya.

Shopping Tip : If you wear glasses have them done here, much cheaper than at home.

it's a great place for a short get away. it's not luxurious (so if you're looking for 5 star, don't stay here) but the rooms are clean and spacious. beds are soft, a/c cool and the setting is quite beautiful.

Cheap.

Cheap and old, internet access is not good, even in the lobby.

Cheap and old, way past its prime. No internet access even though they sell it, it did not work. Very old furnishing. Was probably nice in the 1970s but now...not too nice.
