Great location (very close to night bazaar)
Spacious and tidy room
friendly staff
Immediate response to requests
The stay would be perfectly OK if not for the plumbing problem in the bathroom. During our stay, the bathroom would be flooded each time after our shower in the bathtub. The hotel staff did try hard to solve the problem but somehow they could only provide towels to soak up the water. I think the hotel really need to take a hard look at the plumbinbg of the bathroom.

Location is great with its close proximity to the night market. We found so many nice little places to eat, shops, travel services and of course, the phenomenol thai massage all just steps away from the hotel. The rooms are huge, clean and very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The hotel is actually quite small so has a very empty feeling to it. The spa, from what we could see, was closed the 2 days we were guests in the hotel. The restaurant and bar area were always empty. Breakfast was a good continental style meal, but not the expansive buffet you grow accustomed to at this category hotel in Thailand.
Upon arriving at the hotel we thought there must surely be some kind of mistake. From outside, it has a kind of budget hotel look about it. The reception, bar and restuarant area downstairs was abandoned and kind of dark. Although the staff on duty was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the initial impact on arrival is not particularly positive. The room, however, was a great surprise - spacious, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed having the night market just across the road. I would certainly recommend the hotel to other travelers planning a trip to Chiang Mai. Just be warned that your first impression of the place may not be a good one!
Nightlife Tip : The night market is just steps away from the hotel and has so much more than just shopping to offer. We had great food there and enjoyed the entertainment (music, thai dance, etc.) as well.

Quite location, huge rooms, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast
no lift but it was not a problem since the rooms are located at just a few steps
The hotel is very small but very nice. The first impression was not so good from the outside but once we saw the room we were very happy. Also the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was a choice of american, continental or asian and it was served very nicely.
Very good air condition althought we did not use it. Tv with a lot of English channel.
Very near to th night bazaar, internet cafè and there is a department store just opposite.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We went to the Golden Triangle and visited some tribes. We used the service of the VIP Service agency which is located in the Night Bazar. Our guide was Jimmy and he was very nice and could speak english very well. Also the driver was very good.

Location to night bazaar and surrounding shops
This is probably the most affordable hotel room in the night bazaar area. For the convenience to shopping (there is a small shopping mall just opposite), night bazaar and the bus interchange, it's a good choice for a day transit. Lots of restaurants and small boutique shops around the vicinity too. The room is plain and simple, but still clean and livable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Lots of independent tour agencies around where you can shop for a bargain. Car rentals are plenty too.

Great location, friendly staff.
No elevators. We were on the 5th floor and had to plan our excursions accordingly.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Starbright. The location was good...close to the night market and various restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The one draw back was there was no elevator. I would not recommend this for elderly people. They did have a spa and an American breakfast was included which was more than enough to start the day. We would visit again.

close to bus station, clean room, walking distance to night market.
shower was lacking hot water.
We arrived in Chiang Rai by bus which was convenient for us to walk to the hotel. Its location is definitely a plus. It was central to downtown Chiang Rai. Staff were pleasant. Only problem we had was the shower was cold. We mentioned this to the staff and someone did come by to try to fix the problem without any success. Breakfast menu was limited but tasty and the service was good. Access to massage boutiques and travel/tour shops were next door and across the street. If the shower was working properly it would have been a better stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There's a great 9 hole golf course within walking distance from the hotel.

Bath Robes and slippers. Nice massage facilities
Basic rooms and staff didnt communicate very well
This Hotel is very conveniently in the middle of the town near the restuarants and bottle shops.
the rooms are a little tired but are clean and comfortable. The bonus is the fluffy robe and comfy slippers. We would return again.
Travel tip : Dont go to the only Indian Resturant just down the road, service very poor the food was worse

Downtown Chiang Rai, large rooms, very clean, good air con, very nice staff, off the main street.
About 1/2 block off the main street and 1 block from the entrance to the night market. Great location, very friendly staff, standard American breakfast included, rooms were large, fairly soundproof with good air con. Location was great - could easily walk anywhere downtown.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy walk to night market that has wonderful dining options for dinner. Visit the hill tribe museum (about 20 minutes walk) and if you need books follow the signs to Orn's bookshop. Nice guy and will fill you in on local developments taking place in Chiang Rai.

Excellent rooms, very clean, housekeeping exceptional, good restaurant. In he middle of Chiang Rai, able to walk everywhere if you wish or a tuk-tuk park at the end of the street.
No lifts, although there are only 4 floors the steps are uneven. So be aware and diligent when climbing them.
The Starbright is centrally located in Chiang Rai, close to everything, rooms are exceptionally clean - excellent food and well priced bar. Only drawback was no elevator/lift, only 4 flights in total, so won't worry everyone.

Location is very close to the night market.
Quite hard to find because the hotel is new.
I and my friend booked the two suite rooms and they were really big! Actually it's big enough for 4 people or a family as you can easily put 2 more single beds in the room. The building is very small and the breakfast was not great but the room was nice and modern. Location was great. They don't have any lifts so it's better to stay in a very low floors if you have fitness problem or legs problem. The staff were nice and very pleasant. I and my friend are going back there again next year.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Tuk tuk for 3 temples tour will not cost you more than 250 baht.
