Nice hotel with good staff.

Located in downtown Chiang Rai. Many shops, restaurants, night market, etc. within short walking distance. Good breakfast buffet.

very close to night market and weekend "walking" market. very nice breakfast buffet with thai and western dishes and items from other cultures.
our group of 8 people will definitely return to the wiang inn on our next visit.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
recommend maefahluang garden, maesae border shopping next to burma. one of our highlights was visiting the opium museum--closes at 5 pm and you could easily take more than 2hours. hire a van for the days needed-1500 to2000 baht per day + gas

The Wiang Inn Hotel is ideally placed within walking distance of the major tourist attractions of Chiang Rai City. There is plenty of car parking with good security. The hotel entrance and reception area is well maintained with live music in the evenings, but some of the rooms are in need of refurbishment especially carpets and bathrooms. Also the swimming pool is usually cold and not much used.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit the White Temple at Wat Rong Khun located 15 kilometers south of Chiang Rai City. This is an ongoing development started by local artist Chalermchai Kositpipat in 1997 and expected to continue for many more years. Well worth a visit.

Nice traditional Thai Lanna hotel
Excellent location. Walking distance to the night bazaar

The room looked a bit old but it was up to the standard. We didn't spend so much time in the room but we thought the overall decoration was nice. The breakfast had quite great variety to choose from. The best thing we enjoyed was that it was very close to the night market. We hired a van with driver so we didn't have any trouble traveling around at all.
The staffs were great too.
Nightlife Tip:
The night bazaar had lots of things to do and see, which includes eating street food, shopping local products and gulping a few pints of draught beer at the beer park while enjoying the Thai dancing performances without fees.

Stayed at the Wiang hotel for 2 nights because of the location and the pool. Booked the superior room and while the room was of good size it was a bit old. That was ok but the bathroom was bad. All the fixtures are very old and everything just looked dirty. Went down to the pool area and that needs some updating as well. Also I did not swim because the water was dirty and the tiles looked in serious need of real clean.
I and a lot of other people could not get wi-fi in the room so had to go down to the lobby to use the free wi-fi there. This only seemed to work near the front desk and not near the bar area.
The lobby/bar/dining room are nice as is the Buffett breakfast and lunch. Lots to choose from and food was of good standard. All the staff I spoke to were very polite and helpful.
Nightlife Tip:
This hotel is right where you want to be for the night market.

very good breakfast and buffet-style lunch. rooms were a bit small and bathroom/shower not good. agoda have this hotel advertised as having free wi-fi in rooms....but this is not the case. have encountered this same problem a few times before....this is very disappointing as many people book hotels based on internet availability,among other things.

We have stayed in this hotel on numerous occasions and once again, it lived up to our expectations. Staff are friendly, dining facilities are excellent. Rooms are clean, as is the pooland surrounding area. It is an easy walk to shops during the day and the markets at night.
Shopping Tip:
An easy walk to the night markets, plenty of stalls to chooose from. The same with the food stalls, plenty of variety.
