Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Not very friendly - has had better times
5.3
Great location in the centre of Chiang Rai. Hotel / lifts / rooms / bathrooms show their age. Breakfast room very dark and service not friendly at all. If you book a room with breakfast included, they still charge THB48 (!!!) for a cup of green tea.

The Wiang Inn Hotel is a nice hotel with well decorated and comfortable rooms. The bathrooms are a little worn and don't seem to match the decoration of the bedrooms and I suspect that the recent refurbishment did not extend to the bathrooms.
We did not have any food at the hotel so can't comment on the service or quality of the food, however the hotel is well located if you want to eat out in town. In terms of convenience, the Wiang Inn was perfect and it was easy to walk around town or catch a local taxi/tuk tuk.
On thing to note however is that you should avoid the massage spa attached the hotel as it is rather seedy. The massage area is actually outside of the hotel and around the back and is not quite the family friendly place the the hotel advertisements would have you believe. Getting a good massage from a reputable place in town will certainly be better.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Avoid the massage facilities provided by the hotel and find a more reputable and less seedy place outside on the main streets.

Not worth its price
Best location in town, but
4.3
Quality of service, equipment and food is not worth its price.
Group tourists could be noisy and annoying.
Being the largest international hotel in town, a junior staff did not even speak in English with a smirk on her face.

A quality Hotel with great service
Reasonably priced for the level of quality and service. Good breakfast - variety of Thai and Western. Great room and well serviced. Excellent location. The staff are very warm and freindly.

i would recommend this for anyone needing service and location and comfort for a sensible price considering the standard.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Make sure you see the Wat Longkun, old and significant. Also, the moderne "White Temple". Irrespective of your religious views, they are worth seeing. Also, the Royal Villa is a must, Mae Fah Luang. Make sure you give it several hours to view the Hall of Inspiration (it is inspiring), the Royal Villa and the Superb Gardens.

the hotel is located in a relatively convenient location for most well-known temples and night bazaar. however, the hotel room is quite outdated and no free WIFI provided. Breakfast buffet is good.

Great location and hospitality
8.7
My wife is in a wheelchair so it's sometimes tough to find a good hotel. Although they didn't have a ramp in front they found one and were ready every time we needed it. The service was outstanding and they went the extra mile to tale care of our needs. The hotel is just a short walk to the Night Market.
Nightlife Tip:
The Night Market is a short walk and it's great fun.

Stayed many times at the Wiang Inn Hotel and have never been disappointed. The hotel is always an enjoyable and relaxing place to stay for short or extended visits. The rooms are well appointed & maintained to a high standard. The restaurant has an extensive menu and serves an excellent buffet breakfast. Recent improvements to this hotel included a refurbished front parking area, also Wi-Fi. On the downside , there are no security safes in the bedrooms however all doors have key-cards on for the locks.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit Doi Tong hillside retreat about 50 klms north of Chang Rai City. Cool and beautiful gardens with excellent views.
