Families will love their stay at this resort as it is home to an elephant camp run set in a traditional mahout village. The Anantara have joined together with the Royal Thai Government, with Royal support, to set up the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre (TECC) and guests will be amazed to interact with these majestic beasts on a personal level and appreciate the fact that they’re so well looked after. The service offered by the staff lives up the Anantara’s sterling reputation and the accommodations, spa treatments and food choices are beyond compare. For a true Golden Triangle experience, don’t forget to take a dip in the pool: it overlooks Laos, Myanmar and the Mekong River.
Children and extra beds:Guests over 16 years old are considered as adults.

Best hotel experience ever!
Luxurious, beautiful surroundings and great staff

From the word go, We felt like royalty the moment we stepped into Anantara. We were greeted at the door with flowers. Our room was of the upmost luxury, no detail had been forgotten. We had an enormous balcony which overlooked the infinity pool and the Burmese mountains. The staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. They were very accomodating to our needs. We had 3 days worth of activities booked via the hotel and everything was typed up into an itinary for us. One of the activities was Mahout training. We rode the elephants and also bathed with them. We were very much looked after and there was 2 mahouts to every elephant which made you feel safe. An experience I'll never forget. Might I add that the elephants are very well looked after and there was nothing circus like about it which was reassuring. One other special event that we shared at anantara was "dining by design" in the baby elephant camp. My partner and I had our own private dining experice away from the hotel at there baby elephant camp. We had our own chef and were surrounded by baby elephants. My best meal experience ever. My partner and I were very sad to leave after our 3 days there. It felt like home and we were saying goodbye to a new family. We will be back soon I hope.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Must do the Three Countries in One Day Tour. Also Mahout Training is an absolute must. The elephants are adorable. Cookery school is also of the upmost quality. You can have one on one training. The chef takes you to the local market and shows you local products you then have a picnic by a temple followed by spending the morning cooking and then eating your creation.
