Hotel is central and very close to all amenities. Clean and well run, the staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. They were delightful and were never too busy to arrange, suggest or describe something or recommend somewhere to go.

Attached restaurant was a disappointment. Breakfast was mediocre and entire staff unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. Owners appeared at odds with each other and the restaurant atmosphere was bad. We had breakfast included, but decided to eat elsewhere. A local underground sewage smell,(really bad), sometimes, maybe 2/3 times over the 10 day period, permeated throughout the bathroom into the bedroom. Could be tolerated though.

Overall, a very comfortable stay in this friendly, and clean, well run small hotel. The staff were a delight and quick to help. The room was very well kept and cleaned early. Arraya is centrally located and it is easy to go anywhere and do anything from this location. Apart from a minor irritation with a periodic sewage smell, a very unfriendly 'attached' restaurant, Arraya is a good place to stay. It is cheap and very comfortable and I would quite happily go there again.

Restaurant Tip : On the night market there a various good quality seafood restaurants, expertly run, with friendly people and excellent food - all priced at half the cost of the seafront pier restaurants which are poor value for money.

clean room, great breakfast

mosquitos in room

The hotel was a great little boutique hotel. The breakfast was great. The open-air lobby is beautiful, although hot at times. There is free internet which is very convenient. Walkable distance to convenient marts and to the night bazaar. The room are clean, but htere are a lot of mosquitoes. the staff are very friendly and they give you a free map of hua hin. A little expensive for just a standard room, but overall, good experience.

Friendly staff, comfortable clean room, good "farang" breakfast served at the cafe next door. Near to the pier restaurants, all of which I think are excellent.

A good walk from the main bar area.

Once our taxi driver found the place, we foound the staff very helpful and friendly. The cafe next door where you take breakfast is excellent and serves breakfast at any time, so there is no need to get down early. The room was comfortable and clean. It is a hotel you feel at home in. It is very near the restaurants that jut out on piers into the sea, but a bit of a walk back from the main bar area. I would use it again next time I am in Hua Hin.

Restaurant Tip : I have yet to have anything but a good meal at any of the pier restaurants.

Good location, central, friendly staff, good breakfast

noisey outside, small bathroom

This hotel was exactly what we expected for such a cheap price, staff were great, our room was clean, but basic! Hua Hin wasn't exactly what we were hoping on, but if your passing through its a good place to stay. The beach was a short walk away with heaps of restaurants near by. Our bed was comfortable, with only the odd moschito, large choice at breakfast, quirky decoration, staff organised us a cheap taxi and a nice drink on arrival. Good value, would stay again!

Restaurant Tip : dont eat at the restaurant a few doors down, its an australian steak place on the corner, its recommended in lonely planet, what a load of rubbish, it was overpriced, nothing i wanted was available, not a great setting!

Convenient Location to food, night market. Rooms are big and boutique-style interior is neat

Not really near the beach as the road where it is on walks out to the Fishing Pier. Having to climb the stairs

One of the places with fairly good breakfast and generous proportions by Thai standards. There were quite a few outside patrons which attest to its sumptuous breakfast. On the whole, I enjoyed the stay there. The down side is the need to climb the stairs and there are a lot (and I mean a lot) of mozzys, so act fast when you're going into your room cos you don't want them to get in. Also, there is a 200baht charge for housekeeping. Appreciate the staff's helpfulness.

Hotel Feature Tip : Chomsin Road is Hua Hin Soi 55 (We spent a long time trying to locate Chomsin Road, which you will only see after you have turned into Soi 55)

Nice and friendly staff, clean rooms and not faar from the beach. Reasonable price.

We thought we paid for a room with balcony and got a room without balcony. There was a little sewer smell from the bathroom. Wery poor sound isolation.

We stayed at Aray for three nights and it was ok. But we did expect the standard to be a little higher. The rooms are ot that big and poorley sound isolated. So if you are sound sensitive I recomend you to bring earplugs. But overall it was ok.

Reasonably priced. Large room. Large bathroom. Nice and friendly staff.

Not so great cleaning. Location to beach not very good. No pool. Breakfast was not very good.

If you are looking for a low priced hotel to stay in for a while in Hua Hin then the Araya Residence might be a place for you. It is in the town area, with about 10 min walk to the beach. Large decent rooms with decent bathroom, Water cooker for tea, coffee or baby food. We found the location to far from the beach and not having a pool as a disadvantage. Also it was to small for us, 2 grownups and 1 baby. The room cleaning was not very good. If you are on a tight budget then the Araya is a OK choice.

Nice, friendly staff, Pleasant, quirky rooms

Breakfast coupon for cafe next door provides very basic breakfast only

A friendly little boutique hotel located in the heart of Hua Hin, NOT Cha Am. As a result I got off the train from Bangkok at the wrong station after a very long train trip. After a long and expensive taxi journey, I spent almost an hour with the taxi driver trying to find the hotel, which is not well marked. At present the Agoda rate is not cheap, as many other small hotels around are offering much cheaper rates due to the downturn in tourism. The town is rather pleasant, so the thriving bar district near the Hilton comes a surprise. It is the beach and the fantastic sea food that make this place worth visiting. There is serious Thai boxing available in the town for those interested in the sport.

Restaurant Tip : Avoid the many expensive restaurants. The simple seafood places on the waterfront are hard to beat.

small hotel less crowded, great location not too far from night market restaurants and shopping, clean rooms, huge TV and DVD/CD,free internet, very clean

no room safe, also the web site states they have a spa and they do not. I let them know that this is misleading and they should take it down, and no pool. but you can take a tuk tuk to the sports villa which is a public pool that oddly enough wasn't to crowded and had great meals there.

I loved my stay at the Araya residence the location was close to all the action around hua hin. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful assisted us with finding out where we could go to swim in a pool, called up tuk tuks when we needed them even rang a local paper to find where the local artist village was as there was an article about an exhibition I wanted to see.We loved our room huge tv also a dvd and cd player we got an upgrade because our room wasn't ready so we stayed in a superior room it had tea and coffee making facilites a small fridge.robes and slippers a king size bed which was very comfortable soft pillows. The decor was thai in that lovely teak colour. Also there was free internet which was a blessing because we got stranded with the airport protest so it was great to email home. The breakfast was at the jail house cafe next door which was ok but don't expect a full american. The hotel had another cafe just open on the other side of them and they are relocating there with their breakfast vouchers one of my friends had breakfast there and he said it was much better and a huge serve.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the hotel was very near the beach just at the end of the chomsin road.if you need to go to a pool take a tuk tuk to sports villa a public pool very clean and not too overcrowded they also sell meals there thai food and very cheap its near the market village shopping centre.just down chomsin road towards the beach was also a fantastic spa/massage shop I had the best full body massage there and a pedicure very happy with the service.

I stayed at the Private Villa with my own terrace and that was really beautiful! The hotel staff was so friendly, helpful and service minded. And took care of me who was travelling alone.\nIt was well situated near the sea and the fishing pier.

Some details were not very well maintained, such as the shower handle and the bedside lamp. Also a big con - with such competitive prices among other hotels, the room rates were far too expensive, as guest looking at a ordinary room were thinking it was too much money.

It's a nice old building but they must invest a lot of money to make a better standard.

Elevator, bathroom, hot water, furniture and so on!

Great room (private villa) with a nice view over the village and the sea. Clean and comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. On walking distance from the night market and the city center.

Not suitable for guests who are unable to climb stairs. My room (private villa) was on the 5th floor and the hotel does not have an elevator. There are no rooms at the ground floor.

I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Large room with all the things you need and a large terras, overlooking the village and the sea. Breakfast is included in the restaurant next door (The Jail House). Walking distance to the beach about 15 to 20 minutes and about a 10 minutes walk to the night market.

Hotel Feature Tip : I would not recommend this hotel to disabled people or people having problems with climbing stairs. There is NO elevator in the hotel and all rooms are on the 2nd to 5th floor.

free wi-fi and the staff are fantastic ! so kind and helpful. Clean and everything was working well.

Too many mosquitoes in the room and hallways. also need fans in hallways as can be very hot in the hotel.

The design of the hotel is beautiful and simple with lots of great character, the staff are as you would like all staff to be, kind, helpful and happy. It was nice to see them every time because they make you feel happy. The breakfast next door was very good, not too much but enough to get you started and the staff here were also very kind and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend the hotel to people. Probably not so good for elderly people as the hotel has many stairs and no lift but good exercise. The location is very goos also for the restaurants and beach and a short walk to the market and shops.

Restaurant Tip : Grandmas Papaya restaurant just at the first junction with the traffic lights was incredibly good food and not at all expensive. I could eat there everyday.
