Restaurant Tip:
Seafood dinner in the night market street either before or after a nice massage around that area ( massage range from 300 - 350 THB for Thai massage.

Rooms and ambient was great, suitable for romantic getaway...until I opened closet and found somebody else's swim wear left inside.
How come a 5 star resort villa can provide this poor service...
And the food...breakfast was good, but dinner, especially seafood, it was the one of the worst i have ever tasted....
taste like 3days old seafood was cooked.
Only complement to the hotel was quality of the room.

Nice hotel with quiet surroundings

We stayed here 3 nights. In principal the stay was fine and the surroundings quiet and the setup very green. It was also the first hotel where we stayed that had a children's chair available in the restaurant. Being used to Thailand now we normally take our own.
Staff in general is very service minded. Only check-out was a bit odd, simply because the lady was phoning all the time.
If you stay, like we did, in the "hotel part" instead of the villa's the beach/beach pool/breakfast room is quite a walk and between hotel and beach there are some stairs/wall down, so with children you have to take some extra care.
Only major drawback we found was that the food in the restaurant was in our opinion far below average (breakfast being very good though). You would expect in a five star hotel/resort excellent food, this simply wasn't.

I had a nice stay in a big room by the pool, the garden is lovely and really tropical paradise like.
Breakfast is good.
Room is a little old but not too bad.
Staffs are fantastic.

We had a great stay with good service by the staff.
Unfortunately on the last night there was a party at the pool area with loud music which made it difficult for the children to sleep. This was however well resolved by the manager on duty who got us another room for the night. It would however be recommended for next time to provide people with a different villa if it is known that a party will take place.
The surrounding is beautiful but there was no beach after around 5pm to walk on and a limited number of local restaurants in the neighborhood. The reception desk was a bit understaffed.

this hotel is really beautiful. it is on a quiet beach just north of hua hin (10 mins in taxi to center). the resort is really well landscaped and very quiet. restaurants are excellent. my girlfriend and i definitely recommend this resort for romance and a family vacation. it is much better than the centara which caters to an older market.
Restaurant Tip:
Go to the night market in the center of Hua Hin and eat really good seafood at one of the many street restaurants - the lobster is great.
