Nice big room with natural lighting, drying rack, very friendly staff and a nice variety for breakfast.

Our courtyard room was just perfect. It was nicely decorated, had wonderful large windows that lit up the room, bathroom was extremely clean, apprecitated the drying rack. Beach access, towles and lounge chairs were great. The location was super. Far enough away from the crowds but easy walking distance to night market and lots of restaurant choices.

Restaurant Tip : Right down the street from the hotel is a little curb side BBQ place. It is in front of the TMB bank, same side of the street as the hospital. Has great grilled chicken and som tom and very inexpensive.

*Great rooms - huge, cozy, quiet and elegant. *Great hotel environment - the hotel itself is a historical heritage of royal family. It's classic and charming. You can enjoy your afternoon at the garden or at the beach so lazily. *Great hotel staff, managers and the hotel CAT (called Cheese)! We request for a one-day bus trip but we didn't expect that this also included a free tour guide - the front desk manager! He is so kind and patient to explain the history to us. *Good breakfast - enjoy your wonderful breakfast at the garden or at the pool bar.

(see above)Basically this hotel has everything I want - cozy, elegant, quiet and comfortable. Moreover, the location is the best - 5 mins to the market by their shuttle bus (10 am & 7 pm for free, others- 100 Thb). You can also walk back to the hotel because it only takes 15 mins. The resturants at the night market have great and cheap seafood (we had 6 dishes and beers but it's only 800 thb!). Across the main road to the other side of the night maeket, there are a few spa / massage shops. We had our Thai style massage for only 400 / 2 hours and it was good! Moreover, the hotel manager recommend a great seafood resturant right near the sea that you can't miss - 'BAAN ITSARA RESTAURANT', around 10 mins walk near the night market.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A must go - 'Love and hope Palace' (Maruekhathaiyawan Palace) - 30 mins drive and Khao Wang palace (1 and 30 mins drive) - both are northern parts of Hua Hin so you can plan one day trip to these two spots, and when you return, you can also drive along the Chia-Am village and Hua Hin Train Station (nearby night market).

Beautiful hotel in a relaxed atmosphere. Very good location at the beach and close to Villa Market.

none.

We booked the Baan Bayan for a long weekend with three people. We got a beautiful double room (two bedrooms, large shared bathroom) and a huge open balcony that looks out over the pool and (behind it) the sea. The rooms were located in a traditional Thai house that was completely renovated and refurbished to accommodate the modern traveler. Overall, the above setting is ideal for a family or group of friends.

Travel tip : In the evening the garden is very quiet and allows for a relaxed chat with your friends while enjoying the beach view.

easy access to the beach, friendly service, nice helping people, quiet place with few rooms... not in the centre, but this is what we were looking for!!

price too high - though with agoda offer was correct! - but normal price seems too high for situation and facilities!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : look at the "pocket guide" and make a tour to Khao Takipa to get an excellent view of all HuaHin, see many monkeys and have a look at the real fishing village! nice experience!! Also interesting Khao Tao in the same direction, with interesting cave with budhas!! Baan Sillapin just 10 kms. west from HuaHin is woth a visit to see art galleries and peaceful atmosphere. ALlso

Very good location, well situated: 5 minutes with Touk-touk to markets, restaurants. Very nice access to the beach Medium size: not a large hotel, so quiet and restfull. Very good breakfasts. Very kind personel. Rooms and bathrooms are large. No problem experienced.

The hotel restaurant could be better (more choice, and cheaper prices), but lots of external solutions around...

- the room is really great. Nice design nice furniure, clean - Location is great. opposite Hua Hin Department store and close to center of city - Beach is nice and many activities accessible down the hotel

- The outside of the hotel has nothing to do with the room...its old and not well maintained. Bit of investment on the garden as well as on the furniture would help - Breakfast is poor - staff...service....Not matching usual thai standard...by far....

It would need not much to be an excellent place to stay.

Food

I like the hotel atmosphere which is decorated as old style. It's peaceful and good for relax and quiet holiday. The hotel staffs is very polite and helpful, smiling all the time. This is importance to make me feel more comfortable. The food may need to improve a little bit. The breakfast seems to be not so interesting.

Location, luxury, privacy, and service.

Some of the surrounding beach properties were a bit busy for my taste but that's why I enjoyed the Baan Bayan. I could stay by the pool and still feel like I was on the beach (it's steps away and elevated.)

This was my first visit to Hua Hin. After a very enjoyable stay at the Bodhi Serene Hotel in Chiang Mai – we decided to stay at Baan Bayan (a sister property) for a few days of relaxation at the beach. As advertised, this property is ideally located just a few minutes from downtown. It’s also right on the beach. It shares many similarities with the Bodhi Serene Hotel. It is luxurious but subtle. This property is older than the Bodhi Serene but that’s what makes it special. The main feature of the hotel is the fully restored beach house that goes back generations. If you don’t stay in the original home, you will stay in a tastefully integrated modern facility with verandas and interior design ideally suited to the beach. Guests may opt for lounging on the beach where the hotel has its own lounge chairs and umbrellas. The beach area has much to offer in terms of water sports, horseback riding, etc. I preferred the quieter atmosphere of the hotel’s pool area which includes an intimate bar and restaurant as well as a few small open air “salas” for lounging in the shade. I recommend this hotel for families, couples or solo travelers alike who prefer a more private, personal and luxurious beach get away only a few hours from Bangkok.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We enjoyed a trip to "Monkey Mountain" just down the beach to check out the monkeys at the temple as well as a restaurant overlooking the bay. A walk down the beach at low tide reveals shells and other sea life waiting for the water to return.

Great Location

Renovation needed in terms of the facility

The superior room and the courtyard has minor difference. The rooms are even in the same area or building, few steps apart. There is no major difference. Overall, the hotel has the antique character and very peaceful. I will certain come back to this hotel.

Small Size and Peaceful Beach and Location

Renovation needed for the public area

The hotel was small which is great if you are looking for somthing different from the standard hotel like Hilton, etc. This is quite peaceful, good for the family. The location is superb, right in the center of everything. However, if you checked out the website of the loaded pictures, you will be a bit dissapointement, since the hotel probably needs renovation to match with the colorful pictures displayed on the web. The facility goods need to be renovated as well.

Great service, small but unquie and room style(comfortable like a small house)

no lift which is not suitable for elderly

I went on my holiday which I expected to practice my meditation and reading books. I did not disappointed at all. It is so serene and peaceful as there are only 20 rooms. I am the only Thai there with my mom. We went by mini-van from Victory monument (only 200 THB for 2 hours) to Hua Hin which later found that there are a mini-van to Bangkok( Southern Bus Terminal) infront of hotel. For Thai, I recommended for those who like boutigue kind of hotel which is in fair location. You can walk to night market and reasonable price. My mom said she loved service the most. It makes different to big standard hotel. I like the room space where I feel like staying in small house in forest. We had a great time

What can I say? I LOVED this hotel. It was simple and charming. The hotel had everything I wanted and it suited my down to earth personal style. I was a solo female traveller and completely comfortable and safe here. The staff are exceptional. The beach was clean (fewer dogs) and practically deserted. You could walk to the huge mall across the street.

Splash pools are too shallow...

So what makes this place so great? It doesn't feel like a cookie cutter hotel where you are a number. It has a traditional feel with lovely rooms, wooden floors, airy space and awesome bathroom. Loads of storage space and a great fruit platter on arrival. Hotel is built over the beach with a walk down. Beach is clean compared to other areas of Hua Hin. Awesome mall across the street if you want food and snacks and shopping. Shuttle to night market. Lovely restaurant next to the pool at night the lighting in the trees is very romantic. I can imagine a great wedding location. They have a house cat and care for it which I appreciated. So many stray dogs and cats in Thailand that made me sad. As an animal rescuer I really appreciated that this one little cat was so loved by the hotel that I would stay here again for this fact alone. I know it's odd but it says a lot about people how they treat animals so they get big bonus points because of this. Kitty escorted me to my room every night too. Staff are so nice and polite and didn't seem to have their hands out constantly like in other Thailand hotels. Bird got me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early for Bangkok flight. Please can I go back?

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you're downtown and want to get back to the hotel with minimum fuss, just ask the Tuk Tuk driver to drop you off at the Mariott which is practically next door.
