beautiful setting, wonderfully helpful staff, tastefully decorated rooms
swimming pool is smallish
The Baan Talay Dao Resort is pretty much what it describes itself to be, a wonderful retreat in a beautiful setting. The room I stayed in was large and well appointed, with a very comfortable queen-size bed, and large shower and outside bathtub. I visited in the hot season, but the air conditioning kept the room comfortable. The staff were very helpful, responding to requests immediately and with characteristic Thai warmth and courtesy. I could have done without the loudish music in the evening, but it seemed to stop at 10pm (and it was Friday night).

Location, breakfast, beach, room
We have gone to the Baan Talay Dao several times in the past year. We love it! It's a fairly short trip from Bangkok. So it works for a three day weekend or even just a regular weekend. The breakfast is so great. They make fresh waffles- and even special waffles too (with cashews!). And there's always a nice berry sauce to go with the waffles. It all depends on what you are looking for in a holiday. If you want to party, than the Baan Talay Dao is not for you. It's great for small families or quiet couples. It's also best if you have your own transportation, as it's far away from other places (restaurants, bars, coffee shops, laundry). But, we like it and it suits our needs. The gardening around the establishment is lovely too. It's a cute, quaint place.
Hotel Feature Tip : For some people, coffee is important. And I mean, REAL coffee. So, I'll inform all of you to the fact that they sell real coffee at the Baan Talay Dao. A plus, for sure.

The courtesy bus was too early for us at 6.00 p.m. to go into town. perhaps 7.00 ish would suit people better
This hotel was perfect for us as it was small and friendly. Our room was very nice with a good bathroom. Sheets were changed most days and we had a lovely veranda to sit on. Fresh fruit and flowers were given to us as well. The gardens were lovely and we thought we were in the jungle but in comfort. The staff were extemely pleasant and very helpful. It was wonderful to just sit overlooking the sea at breakfast, which had a very good selection of food for all guests.

the Thai flowers, water with frogs, beautiful surrounding at pool on the seaside, friendly staff
Almost no European breakfast, just toast and cups of marmalade. No meat or cheese or something like that.
The feeling of relaxing is great at the hotel. You can sit on chairs by the pool, watching over the beach, even seeing the Standing Buddha. The flower garden and frogs give it extra dimension!
Travel tip : take a walk over the beach to the nearest restaurants like Let's Sea or Supatra!

We had 4 kids there under the age of 7, they enjoyed the pool and there were quite a few other kids there too, The rooms were nice and clean.
We had an elderly woman with us but could not get relocated to a lower floor (stairs to third floor) due to the agoda rate.
I would come back here again. The food was not bad in the restaurant but a bit pricey. The pool was good and the resort was pretty quitet (except for the construction taking place next door). The beach was nice, the shopping in the area was pretty good and there were lots of small shops and restaurants nearby. The staff was friendly. The rooms were great. Very stylish I thought but not weird or to artsy.

The location- right on the beach.
The breakfast buffet- homemade bread, waffles, homemade fruit syrup, meats, fruits..such a great selection!
The atmosphere was alive, family-friendly and quaint.
The staff were very helpful.
Wireless internet.
The room was comfortable.
Free DVD rentals.
Far away from the hussle and bussle of Hua Hin, but close enough to drive to for dinner.
Kao Takiab is a great area.
The pool is much smaller than appears in pictures.
Our weekend at Baan Talay Dao was absolutely wonderful! We have a baby (10 months old) and were nervous about the quality of the hotel. But we were nicely surprised by everything! Baan Talay Dao is a great value for the money. All of the staff members were helpful and understanding. The location was great, as we were able to play with our baby in the sea and the pool! The establishment is very family friendly- so many other children and babies for our son to socialize with! The food was excellent. Even the restaurant had a good, decently priced menu. The bed was big and comfortable and the other furnishings were adequate. The room was safe for young children. The grounds were well decorated with beautiful plants, sculptures, fountains and small pools (with fish!). Our son was thrilled to explore this new place. We will very happily visit Baan Talay Dao again. I highly recommend it.
Restaurant Tip : Check out Papa John's. The food is fantastic and the staff love children!! And there's good German beer there! Yum!

For a 3-star hotel it was expensive. The location is a 10 minute taxi ride to downtown Hua Hin. At low tide the beach is fantastic.
Travel tip : Huge beach at low tide.

In down town of Hua hin you can find a lot of nice resturants for no money and in also at the pier near Hilton Hotel in Down town.
Restaurant Tip : There was a lot of lovely resturants in the nights markets and in downtown in the pier. The food was great and very cheep.

Fantastic location, beach beach beach and so close to the shopping distict...
a little bit outside, you should know some THai to enjoy.
We spend our Honeymoon here and yes we had a great time. A certain amount of Thai helps a lot her, but you are close to the KIng summer residence what you expect. This very romantic place for this low value you will find nowhere else.
We love it and we will come back, for sure...

Good lage with tiny rooms and service minded staff.
A fine experience in a pleasant environment. Colorful floral Splendor of a lush gröndska with small cozy rooms which had to feel part of the garden. Cricket evening orchestra and the nice evening breeze made each evening to a upplevelese and a reminder of the Thai travel mystery that so many told me about. A morning walk along the still cool the sand by the sea. Small crabes quickly locate their holes Thursday escape the danger. Breakfast is served by the sweet little Thai, which with its glittering ögen saw that each guest had it good. Small things every day which, together making each guest may be peace of mind and heart.
