Oasis in central Cha-Am

Room was fine overall, but some tiresome aspects were the lack of a shower curtain and the four poster bed frame which only gave you something hard to bash your leg on. The pool is surrounded by many mature palms and other trees which gave plenty of shade and birdsong. a pleasant oasis in the otherwise unbeautiful central area of Cha-Am beach.

Stayed there to relax and have near to most things, like hire bike to go to fishing village to eat fresh seafood - alloy mag - go to the forest park with bicycle were very intersting. A nice walk to the aerobicplace near the railwaystation. Good!

If you really want to relax and enjoy a place with only good swimmingpool for aceptable price this is the place to be. If on the contrary you want to go there to enjoy the beach , then you are at the wrong place. Banana boats , jetsky's are riding the whole day. So noisy . If you want to profit to sit under umbrella , you need to pay 50 TB for one seat, but you cannot get one seat , you must take 6 of them .

Good Hotel opposite the beach in ChaAm

Whilst there was no view from the room this was more than compensated for by the ambiance of the place. The room was adequate and quiet. The reading chair was a plus for me as reading was part of my trip. The internet was adequate. The restaurant provided good food at reasonable prices. Even the house wine was drinkable which is not always the case at these establishments. Of course, as is often the case in Thailand the beach was not for swimming because, as usual, treated waste seems to be pumped out to sea and destroys any natural beach appeal. My stay was off season and the whole place was quiet which was exactly what I needed.
They had closed the gym to provide a conference facility and this was a negative for me.
Restaurant Tip:
Many restaurants along the beach strip were closed and those that were not appeared MT. The Resorts restaurant was the busiest, seemed like pricing was similar to others and I enjoyed the meals.

This place is a real find. Great location in Cha-am, 10 metres from the beach and close to the few bars/restaurants that cha-am has. Lovely rooms and pool area, decent gym and great food in the restaurant at reasonable prices. Good breakfast selection, the thai food particularly was great at breakfast.
Restaurant Tip:
Cross the road and sit in the beach chairs for lunch, have som tam (spicy papaya salad), sticky rice and BBQ chicken!

Cha am in August is very quite place with a few guests. If you are looking for a calm holiday without any mistake, this hotel is exactly what you need.

A towel is more important than a happy customer!

I agree with other reviewers that Bannpantai is a beautiful relaxing place at a great location, and I enjoyed my stay. However, the service doesn't match the price. I really felt like a customer and not like a guest. It's only small things, but there are many of them.
In the room there is a very unpleasant sign saying that you will be charged for urine stains on the bed! In the hotel information guide there's even a complete menu with (high) costs for different stains (urine, vomit, blood, etc.) on different items! I've never seen this before and hope it doesn't become a standard for other hotels. I wouldn't take the risk to go there with children or someone with bad health, because the bill for stains may exceed the room rate!
Checking out took ages because they incorrectly thought two towels got missing. A full investigation took place before I was allowed to go. Towels are very hard to get at the pool. Sometimes they drop 5 or 6 on a table and then they leave the pool area (and its guests) unattended for hours, making it also a challenge to order drinks or food.
When I wanted to extend my stay with one night they wanted to overcharge me and refused to give me the same rate as the 6 other nights.
The hotel is not very environmental. Towels and amenities are unnecessarily replaced, the bathroom equipment is poor and spills a lot of water, the key holder that is supposed to switch off electricity when removing the key doesn't do so, leaving the air conditioner and lights on for nothing.
The ceiling was not repainted after installing a new air conditioner leaving ugly spots.
In the morning the cleaning staff used my balcony for storage. First thing you see when you wake up is other people's dirty towels and sheets.
Again it's a nice hotel but to make it worth the price they will have to do some efforts!

The room was big, modern, clean and very nice . The hotel is right on the beach ... all you have to do is cross the street and you are on the beach... the pool is beautiful and the breakfast buffet very good ...service always with a smile and prompt ... very friendly stuff . The hotel is well placed in the heart of Cha-am in walking distance to bars, restaurants and stores.. i give this place 4.5 stars and a good deal for the price.
