Banyan Resort Hua Hin, Hua Hin / Cha-am

The Villas are great if you are a family with several young children and need more space than a hotel room. The Villas are spacious, modern and comfortable. Also a good choice if you have your own transport and intend on having quite a busy holiday sightseeing, being at the beach or other activities outside the Resort. All in all our family had a great time howerer there were many things that would have made it much better. The large kitchen had no cooking utensils,so if you want to cook, bring your own pots, pans,etc... they had standard dinner set and cutlery but no dishwashing liquid or cloth to clean up with. With young children be prepared to put up with mess as you cannot clean it up! The bedrooms had Air Con but the rest of the Villa did not. As there is no shade from the Sun the Villa became very very very hot which was definately a negative. Areas of the Resort are still under construction for example, the Childrens Pool is 5 metres from an untidy and ugly construction zone. There were many things that the resort list in their promotional materials but do not exist yet such as the Pool Bar, Cafe, Mini Golf. The lack of other small things such as no High Chairs in the Restaurant or Towels by the pool also let this Resort down. Actually, it does not have any Resort atmosphere so stay elsewhere if you are looking for a "Resort" holiday. Besides swimming in the pool it is a real shame that the grounds/gardens are not at the stage where you can spend time outside.

this place was well worth staying. the rooms were exceptional, the service was great. the staff here were very friendly and helpful. the only thing that spoiled it was the constant mowing of lawns around my house. the food was good, but if you order the steak or the pork chops- it is massive. too much. i sent my wife to get a facial, manicure and a pedicure. she only got the facial and didnt have the services for a manicure and pedicure. i was still charged for those 2. but she was happy and didnt want to make a tit of myself. i think if this resort had scooters for hire, it would be ideal as it is about 10km out of hua hin. also i think i came here at the wrong time as the asean summit was at hua hin and traffic jams a plenty. very hard to get in and out of hua hin. overall rating for this place out of 10 - i would give it a 8.. would be 10 but sorry guys- bloody lawnmowers!!!

Overall this was a pleasant stay but as of October 09 this resort is unfinished, no tennis courts, gym and main pool. We liked the accommodation, the pool villa was spacious and clean. The restaurant, however, was a disappointment and needs to improve. The Banyan is only a couple of k's from Hua Hin but they will still charge to shuttle you into town.
