Overall a disappointment

The hotel is in Cha'am and there's very little to see there. The beaches are okay, no shopping.... So basically, anything you want to do outside the hotel involves an expensive taxi, if you don't have your own car, or waiting around for the hotel shuttle to take you to Hu'hin - only twice a day.
The biggest disappointment for us were the swimming pools. There are two pools, one close to the ocean, surrounded by grass, only 1.4 deep (shallow) and another bigger pool, 'the chill pool' surrounded by comfortable chairs, music, a bar etc... I was traveling with my six year old daughter, who is well behaved. We went swimming in the chill pool -- no one was in the pool. Immediately we were descended upon by the hotel customer relations person who insisted that we get out of the pool and leave immediately because 'children are not allowed in the chill pool.' The manager then came an explained to me that the pool is next to the spa and that 'guests might be uncomfortable leaving the spa if they see children in the pool.' Since, there were no guests at the spa or in the pool, I offered to leave when one came. I was told emphatically 'no, you must leave now.' Here's my daughter swimming quietly, not making a sound. The manager seemed genuinely threatened by a child!
The ironic part is that we stayed at the hotel for four nights. We were there three and half days before we saw an adult in the chill pool and never saw anyone going into the spa.
The hotel should make it up it's mind whether it wants to be an adult only hotel or include children. Right now it's trying to have it both way -- all about making money. We met another family with a young daughter, who agreed they would not come back either.
When I told the manager that I would write about the treatment/service on my review, he said in a snarky voice 'good, then everyone will know that this pool is not for children!'

I really like the place, the buildings and rooms are simply stylish. Staff is friendly and willing to give decent service. The beach is clean and nice. Good for a short break if you don't have much time to spend.

I stay in Horizon studio for one night and fall in love with this hotel. I hope I will be there again soon!
One thing that I think the hotel can improve is breakfast, not for quality of food but options!

The hotel itself is quite old, and some parts of the building had wear and tear. Beach is not so nice, but the two pools in the hotel make up for it.
Room was large, and bathroom was a good size. The Apple TV with built-in ceiling/bathroom speakers were a nice touch. Free minibar was also a plus.
They had a good variety for breakfast and the food was quite good. Best hotel breakfast in Hua Hin so far. Would go back again but only to relax at the hotel. Its located quite far from the town centre.
