we had just spent two months in koh lipe in the south, in very simple accommodation. so we were looking to be pampered, but we are on a pretty tight budget. we were not disappointed. the jaidee is one of those resorts that provides luxury without ever making you feel like you're under dressed, or generally not classy enough to be there.
check-in was effortless, which is not always the case in thailand. we stayed in a regular cabin, which was certainly big enough for two of us, and had a small mini bar and kettle & coffee. 2 bottles of water. everything was restocked and the room was cleaned every day. it was spotless. and the shower! hot and plenty of water pressure. the beds were so soft, a true luxury in thailand. aircon worked fine.
i'm sure things get a little noisy if the resort is full, since the pool area is in the centre of the cabins, but many people chose to take the shuttle into town for the day, so things were pretty quiet from 11-5. there were no kids there during our stay which was such a score, everything was so serene! that said, the owners have gone out of their way to keep kids busy, there is a wii, ping pong, badminton, trampoline and of course the pool. for the adults, there is a small gym, with a weight machine and 2 treadmills. other than that, you're lounging by the pool, getting a massage, and there are sightseeing tours.
the restaurant offers good selection, breakfast is included in the price. considering it is the only place for you to eat without travelling into town, the prices are very good. there was no feeling that they were taking advantage of the fact that this was our only choice for food in the area. and the balcony is right on a pond that is packed with fish. as we ate, goats and rabbits frolicked on the bank. talk about idyllic!
if you want to hit the bars, stay in town, because the jaidee is 20 minutes from the city centre. if you want to relax, and be treated with genuine care, stay at the jaidee.

Location peaceful nad 5 km from centre, but taxiservice resolved that problem.

Just what we wanted

We were looking for a nice relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got at the jaidee.
We had a lake side chalet and spent the afternoons lazing at a seated area at the lake side. Staff were very helpful, nothing was a problem. They took us in town every morning and left us alone when we didn't need anything
The food was great, breakfast and evening meals.
The chalet was spacious full tv package, good shower which is sometimes difficult in Thailand!
Would definitely go back

Loved everything about it. Off the beaten path a bit, but that was wonderful since it provided such a quiet atmosphere. Rented a motorbike for the day and rode around to see the sites. Owners were kind and generous...make sure to check out the movie theater! We extended for a forth night since it was so nice. Kudos!

They have a free taxi ride twice into town with one free return. Set quite a way from hua hin centre but it is very very quiet.
The food is lovely, especially their desserts, looking over a pond with lots of fish.

The Jaidee was a plesant stay its about 15 mins taxi ride from Hua Hin town which for me was to far out,also the breakfast was a little small if you wanted english breakfast there was a charge not good.

Hua Hin has great night life

Super little hotel and service with a big smile

This was a great find - a lovely friendly family hotel run by charming hosts Harma and Nipa who were always there with a smile to assist everyone. Nipa even rescued me at midnight when my taxi could not find the way to the hotel!
I wanted something small and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the town and this fitted my requirements exactly. The standard room was not huge but fine for one person or a couple, with safe,aircon,minibar,kettle,tv and free wifi throughout the site. Massage is available too. They also provided a free shuttle into town every morning and picked clients up in mid afternoon, so it was no problem being a few miles outside Hua Hin and away from the noisy bars etc.
The swimming pool was big enough to swim in and they had a separate little one for the young children. Food was really tasty,a lovely choice for included breakfasts and the dinner menu was large enough so that clients did not need to go outside looking for restaurants unless they wished to.
I have already started recommending the Jaidee to friends and look forward to another visit myself.

Transfer tip
A new inexpensive airport transfer service has just started at the end of Nov. 2012,from Suvarnabhumi(BKK)airport to Hua Hin and reverse in very comfortable, airconditioned coaches with reclining seats. It takes from 3-4 hours depending on the traffic and there are 5 departures a day from Sombat bus station and the airport.
