The Laem Kum Beach Resort and Seafood is a newly built resort in Prachuab Kririkhan. An hour and a half's drive from Hua Hin, it is literally surrounded by nature in the form of limestone mountains, dense forests, caves and impressive waterfalls, making it ideal for an adventure filled vacation amidst natural surroundings. Visit the Pala-U Waterfalls, Sam Roi Yot National Park, and the seven leveled Huay Yang Waterfall. Rooms are in the form of individual bungalows, with outdoor seating perfect for early morning coffee or just to relax as the sun goes down. The on site restaurant whips up local and international delicacies at very reasonable prices. The outdoor pool is a fantastic way to unwind or a great alternative to spending the day on the hotel's private beach. outstandingly beautiful and uncrowded beach, excellent Thai food, very helpful staff, peaceful and serene.
Biggest weakness is not the fault of the hotel but the lack of public taxi or other transport to see the area. Best for those with a car.
The proprietor and his family staff were very helpful in arranging for a mini-bus tour of the area, an area that should NOT be missed. It is beautiful in the extreme and has a lot to see. There is Prachuap city with the hillside Wat surrounded by monkeys you can feed and with a spectacular view of 2 different bays, nearby waterfalls, a really good aquarium, interesting caves, scenic beaches etc. Food authentic and very good at the hotel, the staff very helpful and speaks English, gorgeous beach onsite, good prices. They got it ALL right in my opinion.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't miss the cave with over 200 Buddhas in it or the view from the Mirror temple in Pracuap city
