Sailom Hotel, Hua Hin / Cha-am

This dated hotel is located on Hua Hin 81, so a taxi is needed to get to the downtown core where the restaurants are located (50THB from the hotel, 100THB tuk-tuk from town). The hallway carpeting is stained but the tile/parquet flooring in the rooms appears new. The superior room comes with a small safe, adequate cupboard and drawer space and plenty of hangers, coffee/tea making, a makeup table/desk with mirror, a TV (with no English movie channels), two double beds (deluxe rooms have a king bed and better chairs), two wicker chairs and a table, mini fridge, shower with curtain and good hot water, but only lukewarm water in the sink, and an old style floor A/C that does not properly cool the room. There are two pools, massage and manicure services. The private beach, complete with cushioned loungers and beach towels, is lovely, even at low tide – no rocks as there at the beaches in town. The hotel provides free pickup from the bus and train. If you have a car, there is plenty of parking space. Buffet breakfast is included and there is a good selection, including make-your-own waffles and fresh fruit, though the juices are not fresh. The hotel restaurant has an extensive seafood selection (not surprising), and the grilled squid and prawns are especially good. I bought a 3-day internet access card (350THB) only to discover that it only provided 5 hours of internet use. I attempted to explain to front desk staff that three days consists of 72 hours, not just five, but to no avail. The one-day card, however, provides 24 hours of access – go figure?

It is a goog hotel we where staying der for the second time, and we like it, you can walk in to town at the beach, and you can also go to the Village market.

Good hotel for family with children

Nice hotel, directly on the beautiful beach. Hotel pool very nice and clean. Staff is not very friendly! Except the cleaning staff! Also the breakfast buffet is not the best, leaves something to be desired. (Standard) A taxi is very difficult to obtain.

Very good service throughout the hotel. The location was 2 km from the busy center but good amount or by taxi, bus or tuktuk to do.
