This is one of my favourite hotels. Marvellous location, all amenities and excellent staff and service. On top of all this - wonderful food
Possibly the best Hua Hin has to offer

The atmosphere of the hotel is predominantly friendly but a bit stiff at times, not least because of the typical guests (older couples who seem to be quite well off). So do not expect tons of smiles and that you will be part of a big family. On the other hand if you are looking for a quiet place where you will be left alone - it is perfect.
The room prices are quite ok by European standards but comparatively expensive for South East Asia. The superior rooms are really nothing special, though they are nice and clean as would be expected at those rates.
What really makes this hotel stand out is the spectacular surrounding garden and the big recreational area of the hotel. Compared to the adjacent hotels in the same price range there is no competition, Sofitel simply rules in this aspect.
Service is not always up to par as one would expect, especially at those bar/restaurant prices on which the hotel adds 10% service charge (putting a small Singha Beer around 150 Baht). I never experienced any unfriendly staff but annoyingly slow at times (even if we were alone in the place). At breakfast it was very uneven, some days they would fill your coffee cup 4 times without you having to ask and some days you would have to ask four times before they would tend to it. This of course was a bit frustrating. Also, if they ran out of something at the breakfast buffet and you ask for it, the answer was always that they would get it but they returned with it at best half of the times. A big plus for the chef making omelets and other egg dishes. He was always fast, always with a smile and made fantastic tasting omelets of your choice in no time.
The quality of the food is very high and I do strongly recommend their fabulous BBQ Buffet by the pool at an affordable 1500 Baht per person. The service at these buffet dinners was also a lot better than average.
The pool areas are very nice and you will never have any problem finding a free chair or towels.
Nice stay at Sofitel Hua Hin

I had booked a double room and they said I only had booked for a single person. Therefore additional payment had to be paid, and it was not satisfactory.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very good golf courses near the hotel.
