lovely tropical grounds, located on the banks of the River Kwai
no water in the morning (it came on later), no English TV, no way to get into town, except taxi which is expensive
The location of this hotel is truly lovely, an exquisite large cage of beautiful birds, breakfast is served overlooking the River Kwai. The rooms were clean and one of the two desk attendants spoke good English. The waitresses simply did there job perfunctually, no service attitude. No shower in the morning, however after breakfast, the water was back on. Better lighting in the rooms than many other hotels. Breakfast tasted fine. Especially the local type of breakfast.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : This hotel is located near all the activities related to the history of the actual events and subsequent movie Bridge over the RIver Kwai. It is full of history and is in a beautiful location.

We enjoyed the quiet, peace and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the floating rooms on the River Kwai. So peaceful.
Far out from the city; the desk needs to call a taxi for one to get into town at 150 baht, about $4.25.
We're not sure whether it was because of the off season or the remoteness of the hotel, but we were the only people in the entire resort which is a huge resort. We were told 40 tourist from Holland were coming later on the night we checked in. No one checked in the two days we were there. Our floating room was very adequate and oh so peaceful sitting on the porch just watching the River Kwai float by. I suspect that since we were the only people there the restaurant was not up to par. However, the food was good. The complimentary breakfast on the first morning was a buffet of sorts but there was plenty for us. The next morning, no buffet, but we were brought plenty to eat. On the first afternoon we were there we wanted to go The Tiger Temple. It was a bit expensive to travel there in the back of a pickup truck; let the adventure begin. We still needed to pay for the ticket to the Temple....don't miss it. For the next days adventure I called Good Times tour and booked a trip for an elephant trek, bamboo rafting and a tour at Hellfire Pass and museum...don't miss it. Good Times came out and picked us up. Had I known they would have done that for the Tiger Temple as well.
The hotel is full of possibilities, but it was bit odd to be the only people staying there. They have a great pool and pool area. But unfortunately there is very little else to do.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Contact Good Times tour office for touring tips. They were great and they will come to the hotel to get you which is a much better deal than going through the hotel.

Rooms on the river gave us the opportunity to relax in the evenings on our verandahs. The rooms were basic but clean and very quiet - only the sound of the river.
The paintwork around the hotel is in urgent need of freshening - particularly in the dining area.
NB.Please put a U-turn symbol on the sign before the bridge - we saw the sign for the hotel but not the entrance road on the opposite side of the dual-carriageway.
Our stay was very pleasant at the hotel. We were due to stay there for one night but decided to stay for a further night because it was so peaceful. Both evenings were spent happily having a few drinks outside our rooms on the river itself. We went into the town on both evenings and were very happy with the prompt and pleasant taxi-service provided.Breakfast was adequate and but for a lick of paint the stay would have been perfect.
Hotel Feature Tip : A room on the river is a must. This was what made my stay at the hotel very enjoyable
