A massive property, with wide corridors and outdoor space, this resort is definitely worth a stay. Just over a 100 km from Bangkok, Kanchanaburi makes for an excellent weekend trip, with several attractions including The Bridge Over River Kwai, Erawan Waterfall, the war cemetery, and Tiger Temple. Just as impressive, if not more than the facade are the richly decorated rooms, each with a balcony, wireless access, and bath tubs. The resort is also a green property, and supports the community and environment in which it is located. And before you journey back home, do make time for a Thai massage at the spa. Dhevamantra Resort and Spa is more than just a resort, it is an experience to be shared.

Relaxing long weekend with friends

I stayed with friends in over a long weekend and although we left the hotel once to go into the town, we regretted it as we had far more fun sitting on our huge balcony. The breakfast was good, with great variety. The pool and gardens are beautiful and the food is good, although some is a little overpriced. The best thing about this hotel, however, is the friendliness of the staff; they made us feel welcome and made our stay enjoyable.
