I stayed in the Thai Guesthouse as part of an ANZAC Day trip to Kanchanaburi and Hellfire Pass. A good location near the main strip of tourist orientated cafes and bars but off the main road and away from both the bar and traffic noise. The room was 'OK' as were the young staff (the manager and family?) but a few little things annoyed and were missing for a regular Thai hotel room. Only small cups of water were provided (bottled water is cheap - come on..) and no glasses for the bathroom were supplied. No resupply of toilet paper, water, clean towel provided - very unusual for most Thai places no matter how low the price. Many unnecessary poorly written and printed signs warning not to do thing at pain of being charged extra gave a slightly unwelcoming air. Not a terrible place but I wouldn't book again.

The Thai Guesthouse has a good location near the main strip of tourist cafes and the usual sad and sleazy bars but off the main road and away from both the bar and traffic noise. The room was acceptable as were the staff (quite young - the manager and family?) but a few things annoyed us. The staff didn't resupply the toilet paper, water or check on the towels - very unusual for most Thai places no matter how low the price. Also the room and reception area had many unnecessary, poorly written and printed signs warning not to do thing at pain of being charged extra! This gave a slightly unwelcoming air- like being at school. Not a terrible place but I wouldn't book there again.

Note was the real reason that this was an amazing find. He went above and beyond to help myself and my traveling companion race to the post office , translate any information, then took us all over town trying to find a backpack. It was above anything that was ever expected and he was even willing to go back to search for a lost item. He was very helppful booking travel arrangements as well.
