The location is both its best and worst point. You ARE isolated and a long way from mini marts or internet access and need to prepare for that. Sadly, we found the resorts unwillingness to give information disappointing. We wanted to know how to get to the nearest shops and were told either wait a long time for a saengthaw, walk a long way to hire a motorbike, or walk a very long way. When we wanted to move on to Phuket, the receptionist called a (very expensive) taxi to take us into the bus station, which then informed us that there were no buses to Phuket, but we could hail a passing bus instead. The receptionist should have known this and we could have hailed a passing bus from outside the resort. The only food option available (unless you hire a bike) is a very nice Issan restaurant, but there is no Western food available so ensure you can eat Issan food for your duration, or come supplied ! However, the views and location are magnificent and we extended our stay.

Restaurant Tip : Tiffy's Cafe has the best sandwiches. Mr Indian, Indian restaurant has really good food, but prices are high.

Many steps down to the beach.
If you take a long walk from the hotel (7-8 km) by the beach you can take a longtail boat taxi back!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go river rafting! Take a package tour to get here from another hotel. Go to Khao Sok National park - rent a scooter from the lobby - it takes about an hour and a half but have a good map!

I would really recomend this hotel if you search for a beautiful hotel with privacy but still close to everything in Khao Lak.

Fantasic views, very tranquil, felt like we were the only people staying at the resort although it was fully booked.
Hotel Feature Tip : Book tours and tranfers through the hotel as they are reasonably priced.

A great hotel-owned Thai restaurant is nearby, in the northern side, yellow color, don't miss it! The view is fantastic.
