Un attentive staff for late night Check-in
Location, Rank and file staff, breakfast
7.3
Over all the stay was at a basic need but the Check in at the night time will need to be more attentive and not blaming to the system. We have booked the Hotel at around 20:00 using the Apps in the Smartphone and paid. Until 23:00 we checked in, the night duty mentioned that they have not any received the booking, which we were quite frustrated when we realized that they have not prepared the Room for us and we have to wait for more than 30 minutes. Not only that, he also mention that there might be a cut off in electricity due to a heavy Rain fall and we may not have the air-cond working if this is such a case. This certainly does not give us a pretty good impression especially when we were cold and little wet from a fair walk changing the check-in area where they were having a refurbish the lobby area and there were no sign of where we should check-in and no one was in the construction site area to direct us where to Check-in.

We did booked villa type and its nice big clean room very nice breakfast
8.3
We booked hotel to stay in May 2013 the hotel is in Pakarang beach area about 20 km from khao lak center area not many restaurant or shopping near by so if you have no transport is a bit difficult to reach to any other place the hotel itself pretty new we stay in villa type and it was a nice stay the room was big and comfortable just only bad side is they only include wifi in public area and wifi in room is extra at ridiculous price 500 baht per day so we didn't pay extra but during our stay is raining the whole time so we not bother to bring laptop to public area so for someone need to do some work as my husband might have to thinks about it twice for an extra 500 baht extra I might book another hotel that include wifi in room .

Fantastic villa!
Wonderful, worth of money and peronal beach
8.7
It was fantastic suites and villas. Villa was very comfortable, clean, nice design. The beach was 1 min walks from my villa and the sand was white. But the bad point about this is place is that their staff (receptionist) wasn't friendly with clients who spoke Thai or come from Lao! I felt like Nation racist when I had to speak with their staff which made me feel sad. but overall it's fine. they just need to improve their staff manner, that's it!

modern, good sized villas but congested
beach access, fairly spacious villas, seclusion
6
I thought i had booked a quaint and quiet getaway, judging by the online brochures. However, i came across a description after "russian summer holiday camp". Indeed it is a megaplex with 60 over villas and 4 and 5 storey apartment blocks. Had i been more patient or done better research, i would not have booked my stay with Kantary. Indeed, it is a "vacation community" warranting its own minimart, tailor and so on. Nonetheless, it turned out to be a very pleasant experience as occupancy was only 20-30%. Hence, although the villas were tightly situated, the lack of occupants still gave an aura of seclusion. The beach was only average is it is coarse sand and lined with coral debris. Do not order the western dishes from the kitchen as it was hardly palatable. The traditional dishes were much better done though the quality seems to vary.

Great remote beach for ofamilyur
Beach, remoteness, family-oriented

Khao lak is remote. Don't expect nightlife or a lot of shopping This resort is primarily family oriented with very good options for small children.

Great for families, beautiful beach and suite
Suite has sofas for kids to sleep
9
We have a 7 and 9 years old kids that could comfortably sleep in the sofas in the suite. We found the sofas already with linen and pillows when we checked in, very organized. Suite is beautiful, new and spacious wih a large balcony, really nice, equipped with microwave, china, a medium size fridge
Beach is simply gorgeous and can walk forever, lots of vegetation and very few hotels, really unspoiled with the coastline defined by tall trees.
Restaurant beachfront is the only choice, good choice for breakfast buffet.
Clean and facing the sea.
Large yards for soccer play, 3 pools of which two are for kids and one is covered and shallow for little kids
Plently of family with strollers, easy to stroll around.
Overall great, the only thing missing is that it is too western, western guests, western food, no real thai food, u could be anywhere in the world, not necessarly in thailand
Hotel Feature Tip:
Great for families

Bright, good sized villas
Villas good sized for family will young children. Beautiful beach
6.7
loved the villas, good sized for our family of 4. spacious bathrooms with outdoor shower. beach is easily accessible and beautiful. mini mart and atm on site on hotel grounds. there are a lot of mosquitos at night, makes it nearly impossible to eat in restaurant after sunset.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We took a 1/2 day trip to see elephants and waterfall. Perfect 3 hour trip for our kids 4 and 7 years old. Went to town 2 nights to eat dinner and well worth it for delicious reasonably priced thai food. Can take hotel shuttle to town and taxi back for 300-350 baht
